Nabul, 'cause this boy needs some lovin' Options

I've come to realize that everybody seems to bomb Ophir/Nabu as a bad character (Just read 'Character Eviction' and you'll see.) And I don't think he deserves it, at all. From what I've seen of him (Due to circumstances I can't see the episodes online, I've seen them up to 'The golden Kingdom.' He isn't to bad. He looks cute (I dig the tail and the outfit, with and without cloak.) and finally a boy who uses magic, and not just another specialist. (Altough I still think one of them should be an alien.....and I mean a real alien, not an elf or something.) I constantly heard the phrase 'He took Layla's independance.' Well, it might be because Layla isn't my fave character, but all I can say is: No. Layla wasn't that independant in the first place. (We're talking about a girl who, in one episode says she doesn't like their parents for hooking her up with an arranged marriage, and she's all peachy keen with them the next.) It is a font, a barrier to shield her insecurity and, well, dependance on others she's denying. I mean, her greatest fear is to be alone, not really something independant, right?
And from what I've seen, Layla is actually having a positive drawback thanks to Nabu/Ophir.

So please, cut this guy some slack, he's cute, funny, and has a way with ladies. (And I think it's funny it doesn't work with Layla (See? Positive drawback!))

I do agree with you on the point that there is finally a boy that uses magic, but 4kids makes him act like a real laid back kind of jerk really, some of the things they dub in (the things he says) are just stupid and scream 'jerk!' I just personally don't like him at all (plus, he kind of seems to me like he was stalking Layla.)

I don't think people should be blaming him about taking Layla's independance though. It was an arrainged marraige anyway, and he was just trying to make it work... even though he spied on her....

Eh. Nabu is alright. He's a dork, but it's kind of endearing. And even thought I agree that Layla wasn't too independent to begin with, it still kind of feels like he was only added to be her romantic interest. To he honest, I really don't care either way about him.

Maybe I posted this a bit late, because now he's actually part of the show..... because my first argument was; We haven't even MET the guy. Guess that's invalid now . But I rather like him. And yeah, he's probably only there as a romantic interest for Layla, but he's a much better one then, oh say, Helia.

I don't dislike him, I am just not his fan, I do think he is just someone who at times annoys me like he only tries at the museam to save Layla and lets the others just fall off the museam roof.

OK, I'll ask 1st of my dumb questions of a Winx newbie - I don't know this guy at all, he isn't showed on winxclub official site, someone has got his pic or something ? I see that he causes controversy already. Was he only used for one episode and then erased from the show?

Nope, Ophir (Or Nabu, Ophir is a false name.) is the guy who's arranged to marry Layla, and tries to convince her she's not that bad.... he appears pretty late in the show, and he's a wizard instead of a specialist.

I have nothing against nabu.Yes,the boy needs love alright.But i like helia better...must say he is pretty cool[helia]

I really don't blame him for layla loosing her independence because it was an arranged marige but I can't say I really like him until I see more of him. 4kids barely showed him as a character, you don't see him until halfway through season 3 and not much. But I do like that they show boys do use magic in the magical worlds, not all of them are specialists.

I also like that he's a semi-martial artist. Yay for Martial arts! If he was introduced sooner, had a bit more depth then just a boy for Layla, he would've become my favorite.
