This has been happening for as long as I can remember, but really rarely. Recently its been happening way too often so I decided to post a help topic.

Sometimes when I close a window of MC, a whole lot many windows of the same one I just closed pop-up and just keep coming, more and more of them. Its really annoying and sometimes I even have to reboot my computer. Today, (just before I made this topic) I noticed that inbetween some of them popping up, some files were being transfered or downloaded which I did not initiate. So I'm starting to get a little worried.

Anyone know whats up?

the popups. Clean computers don't open tons of windows at all by random.

Are you using IE? If you are, stop. And download some type of antivirus.

Use these two, they are free

I'll consider downloading them, thanx. But first I want to hear the Administrator's opinion on this.

When I was using IE, the same sort of thing would happen. Only it would be if I tried to open a topic in a new tab, it would randomly start opening tons of tabs and I normally had to restart to get it to stop. And it was only with MC. But that hasn't been a problem since I switched to Firefox.

In that case, I doubt it its a virus, most probably a glitch. Thats four people (I remember StellaRocks saying it happened to her a while back).

But becides the point, you should download them if you don't have any type of antivirus. because if you don't, 98% chance you DO have a virus that doesn't show itself

Most likely your computer is the one having hiccups, it shouldn't happen on our site.

However, if multiple users DO have this issue, I think we may have bigger issues...

Exactly. It happened to me sometimes while I used IE and tried to close an MC window or tab that was loading. Since I switched to Firefox, it has never happened though.

I never had this problem before, since I use Mozilla Firefox all of the time now. Sounds like some kind of glitch if random files downloads pop out of nowhere. Maybe it's some kind of virus, I just hope I never get this.

Wow, that is pretty odd. o_O
I use Safari, and that doesn't happen with me, (just an addition; many users are using Firefox, but if one isn't too fond of that internet browser, Safari is also available. I can supply a link to anyone that may be interested. icon_wink.gif )

That has happened to me before when I tried to close something...but in a different type of way. Maybe it's a virus?
