It will be fully in 2D. Look here: http://magixclub.com/forums/index.php?show...st&p=436730 =)
I'm not sure about why they show the 3D. I guess it's just a teaser preview? Yeah, it's a Season 5 Promo, but as the Official Winx Club Facebook was saying that they are showing the whole new world in water as 3D, but they are keeping the animation as 2D because it's always suit for 2D in the Series.

------------------------------------------

I just notice another Season 5 Promo Image:

Bloom's Wings looks different with a bit more detailed color. The hair is a bit for details too.
It looks like the one before is not a Official Final Piece yet. ^_^

Wanna see the full image already. xD Just have to wait.

Found on Michael's Winx Club and http://www.brandlicensing.eu/

I hope that it's all in 2D if they're going to use Blender in an attempt at 3D. I honestly think it's a step back for them if it were the case. If my opinion mattered to them, I would tell them to stick with Maya for the 3D portions. I mean, they used it for the movies, why not for the show?

...
I'm still confused.... if they're showing it all 2D, then why the teaser and the 'Full CGI Episodes' tagline?

I wonder if they mean flash by CGI. I mean...if you think about it, their way of animating with flash is kind of computer generated. It's a stretch, but a possibility.

Most likely.... but why advertise it when they've been doing it since the start?

tbh, advertisements will never make sense to me. CGI can mean a bunch of things, we're only thinking of 1 or 2 possibilities. =)

Maybe it was Nick's idea? They're a part of the picture now.

There were always a few scenes in the show that were CGI

The red fountain, cloud tower, and alfea flybys as well as scenes with the hover bikes were in 3d

Winx was never fully 2D at the beginning.

I was always the mixture of 2d and 3D since 2003, and their 2D is not even traditional hand drawn 2D at all, they just drew it out with softwares.

Pixar are pioneers in 3D animation.
Pixar as a whole can NOT be compared next to Rwinbow. Rainbow has two CG movies, and I wouldn't even say that those movies are very good. They are good, but they're not pixar good.

Wall-e told at least half its story without any words. Rainbow films often don't have much story.

Again, can't compare the two.

Sure they may get better, but as it stands, as a studio, Rwinbow isn't anything like Pixar

Every animation company has their own style and flaws. The animation for the 1st winx movie is good, real good, but I would expect more epic events happen in the 1st movie.

But still, I expect more from Rainbow because they are cool icon_wink.gif

@The Churchmouse: How do you know that it's made out of blender software?

I HATE CGI!!! It looks awful!
Why is half the trailer in 2D and the end in CGI 3D?
Will it have the same english voices as season 4?
Will Layla's BF be back?!
Where is Roxy?!
Will the girls get married?!

I absolutely hate what they do to kids films these days. They butchered Barbie with the whole 3D look now, from after the 'Three Musketeers' movie it changed completely...
Then they butchered the smurfs with this '3D' look.
It's hard to watch..

Why are you complaining about a non-full CGI movie in an Anti-full-CGI rant?

Is this geared towards me? I haven't seen the winx films and don't intend to

Yes it was. You were raving about you hating CGI. I presumed you meant full CGI movies like the Winx ones or Pixar. And then you started talking about the new Three Musketeers movie. I'm a bit confused.....

Now that I take a look, what had that entire thing to do with the topic at hand? We're not talking kid's movies. We're talking a kid's show. And one who's new footage is maybe three minutes total.

I'm confused now. Besides, I was using the other movies I mentioned as a reference to do with how I hate CGI, what's wrong with mentioning that?

Sorry, like I said, sudden live action movie.

Still, while I don't mind people disliking CGI, I'd rather have you respect it. Things aren't automatically worse when done with CGI. It's just another form of Art.

But then again, I'm a CGI nut, so I might be pretty biased.

I'm not the only one against it in this thread, so I don't know why you are only targeting me.
I was just stating that I don't like it, I don't see the harm of that. I have nothing against people that do like it. I'm not going to whinge over people that do

I think he was talking about the Barbie and the three musketeers movie, not the new live action one, saying that sincce that movie the barbie films have used a different form of CGI.

Anyway, I don't understand...the trailer is real right?....

It is.
Problem is, we're not knowing the context. Trailer says Full CGI episodes, Facebook says full 2D and this is a promo... something else says it's a hybrid.... I'm confused.

They had me at the new Transformations and Daily clothes. From what little I can see of them, they look awesome.
