Winx Movie In The Us - March 27th?, that's the date 4Kids is saying. Options

I recently went backt to the 4Kids forums to see if they were talking about, or even knew about, the winx club film. they do, and are conviced it's coming out on March 27th here in the US of A. I asked how they knew this, and so far nobody has answered. I personally don't believe this since I can find no press releases or anything supporting this.

also, the 27th would be the weirdest day to premier it. it's a thursday. there's no 4Kids.tv on thursdays, so it couldn't be on TV. it's not a tuesday, so the dvd wouldn't come out. and it's not a friday, so it would be very weird for it to come out in theaters. now, I can see where March 27th could work, just not this year.

Thanks for the info. well i agree with you. the date is weird but i won't really care cause i just want to see the movie. but i doubt that date is true. wish it was but i know deep down it isn't. thanks for the info agian. and yea they did say they weren't doing nothing with the winx club movie.

Thanx for the info i agree with u and METB, but i have doubt about that release date, it is beleivable but the odds of the movie coming out that date r too low cuz they havent even showed a comercial also i think 4kids tv wont be editing the movie.

as far as I can tell, it has not been. I know there have been sites that said it has been, but I don't believe they said what company actually liscensed it. I do remember a rumor saying it had been liscensed by TriStar, but that has now been taken off of the Wikipedia pages. I honestly don't think it will be coming to the US, unless Iginio decides to distribute it here himself which I doubt will happen.

Thanks for the info. I don't think thats true though since that is only 2 weeks and some days aways and there haven't been any press releases for it at all, plus it is a Thursday. The only way it would come out then if it was a holiday (like valentines day was a Thursday, and knowing that many people go out on dates on valentines day many movies came out on a Thursday. But seeing as March 27 really isn't a holiday like that or before one, I don't think it will be coming out in theaters or on DVD then. I hope it is licensed in the USA but I am not entirely sure anymore because of how there is no winx merchandise at all here sold in stores besides some stuff on clearance sales, they might think the movie wouldn't be big here at all so why bother bringing it here?? I want it to come though!!!

STATING THE OBVIOUS: Well, March 27 has come and gone, and not even a whisper of a Winx movie...
Personally, I think that due to its moderate popularity in the US, it would be widely promoted at most six months in advance or so. Just my opinion.
Think about it, though - notice how long it took to dub the second season from Italian - we were a few months behind. Let's not plan parties for a while but keep our eyes and ears keen for news.

Anyway. It said the movie will "not be released in the United States" until they see "how well it is accepted by European audiences."

come on!!! the european love it. can't they see how great their movie merchandise is going. and how many tickets were sold. ALOT! so its going VERY well so they have to get it. or else....

It's not that I mind the voices - they did fine. It's just that they cut out scenes that made sense, screwed up lines to make it more "girly" and added pointless things, like *gasp* the dreaded Keek bug; the Realm of "Buff" *gag* and so on. I'm sorry, but you'd think that they could add more substance to it.

I believe 4Kids has said they will never dub the Winx Club movie, so that's good and bad news. good news: 4kids won't change anything since they won't have it. bad news: the movie either won't come out here or it will be inconsistant with the American version. I wouldn't mind the US movie being closer to the italian version (mostly Sparx returning to the name Domino) but it would probably do poorly because of it. voices would be different and i doubt kids would really like that.

I actually think that Rainbow will handle the US release themselves, and just show the english version here in America. I'd be okay with that

Other news {good news?} for us Winx fans here in America:
According to Michael's Winx Site, Winx Club is s'posed to be returning to 4kids TV next Saturday at 11:30 AM eastern, 10:30 AM central, 9:30 mountain, and 8:30 western.
Figure it out yourself if you don't do daylight saving's time.
