That is not a swear.

For yet another time, please think of context before you accuse me of swearing.

Well, FYI my arm was actually covered in blood shortly before I said that, so you shouldn't read it both ways, one way, and if you aren't certain which way it is to be read you should of asked me, which was my intent

oh, its not ok to say "bloo..."?, Well, those words are actually used to not say the "hard" ones, its kinda silly censor them... come on you are on the internet, a wrong turn on a page and you are covered in tons of porn and you are censoring these little things? LOL
btw its ok to say "freaking"? (wanted to ask since a while ago) and why the hell (can i say hell?) **** is censored? i mean if i made a post abot **** tracy it will all cover of stars? or what about one about the sci-fi writer phillip K. ****, the 99% of the times you are going to use that word is not what "the admin" thinks it is...
..its not that i care, but its really silly

@Dead, exactly. If the board's censorship blocks it, then it is fair enough not to say it.

If someone says "exceedingly" and some person sees it as an offensive word, then that is that persons fault for not knowing that it is a common word among others.

If I say ****, then it is blocked, with good reason. If I want to say "I broke my leg and it ****ing hurts", that SHOULD be ok, because that is nothing more then a bleep. On prime time TV, words are bleeped. You know what they say, they don't have to dance around anything, but it is blocked for those who don't want to hear it. It hurts nobody.

However if I were to say "I broke my leg and it fakking hurts", then that is where it is wrong, as it is censorship evasion.

So, why don't we do this. Why don't you add every teeny variations of a word to the censor and tell us exactly what we can or can't say and tighten the forum rules so much until almost EVERY* topic includes a swear, at which point nobody will want to post, or have something fairly loose which promotes conversation without restricting what we have to say.
One more thing, if someone types ***** then there is absolutely no reason to tell them down, because the last time I checked, the asterisk was not a swear, or a word. It was a symbol.

* - I used caps, so I yelled. Some people dislike yelling, so capitalization should be censored, too.

@DeadInside firstly that name is censored because of the word and the problem is that i sensor is not smart and can deal with the changes and also some people (I am not saying you) will keep using it meaning the swear and then say I was just talking about the person.
I am also aware of what is available on the internet that is not appropriate for younger people or even some religious people.
Using freaking in the freaking out context is ok, however the other way I would say is debatedable.

@wkw remember this forum is PG13 and we have a multicultrual forum, so we have to include other peoples views in what is and isn't a swear. This is where the problem comes you get one country that says a word is ok and another says no its not.
On the beeps on TV while some people will know or can have a very good guess, they tend to be done during interviews and unscripted TV. These tend to be accidental and so are removed via a bleep inorder to keep the language clean.
On the star situation if a word looks like its been filtered I tend to warn people to watch there language. On the self inserted stars like in your example it is insinuating a swear. Like when people use common initial which mean something swear or something like that. This is not allowed.

Why then, would you consider bloody a swear in the context I used it in? You did not know the context, so you were outright wrong to accuse me of swearing then.

All I'm asking is a list of what NOT to say. From there further disputes can be made, and if people try to circumvent that censor that is when action is to be taken.

@marty: What's wrong with the word. blood? I don't find it as a cuss word at all. Or do you mean by this word?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloody

Err.... Just saying. Kids watch Harry potter and Ron will always go on saying: "B_____ Hell." I think it's pointless to censored that word. Like come on, even kids' shows are using this word, even cartoons.

is it really a cuss word, like... seriously??? Just curious.

@wkw however you meant it, has little relevance as long as it can be read the other way fairly easily.

@deadinside you need censorship to help protect young people from things they shouldn't be involved with

@Joy I have always thought it was a swear word. It seems its a generational thing one generation says yes, one no.
Reason for edit: missed joy's post

Anything can be read the other way. If someone were talking about putting rice into boiling water, one person could say to the other "Put it in when it is hot", and if a third started saying something about how that is very vulgar, then it is the third person who is at fault.

If you ask me, you're really nitpicking with what people can and can't say and quite frankly it is kind of annoying.

Well, I know one of the swears censored put a huge roadblock in my Roleplaying abilities since it's part of the name of the Roman Dual-Faced God of gates, doors and doorways that a character I tried to be was named after. I think that one's a bit silly, I mean, who uses that word for swearing? I can understand the more crude word for backside, but this one?

J****? How is that a swear? I have no idea

WOW
SERIOUSLY?

I went to google and couldn't find it to be a swear... LOL

But on the other hand, the word isn't being blocked, it is just what the word consists of. Which is one of the worst forms of censorship.

Ok, Censorship can"protect" your little house of glass from one of the million angles you can get shot from, ok.. but i think this is getting to insane proportions, i have no trouble if you censored the classic swearing words that only use you can give them is insult someone in order to prevent this site to sound like a pirate ship, but you gotta be careful when too much is too much, and start annoy people, also stalk someone every post pointing every word you think is unappreciated even when no body around the site is getting insulted by that is quite annoying.
yet as i said, your puddle, your rules, I'm not asking for a revolution or anything, just to relax a little and give people room to breath...

Deep summed it up pretty well. I don't see any reason why all swearing should be outlawed if it is not insulting any person.

Sometimes it's hard to deal with some cuss words. Because some words don't mean anything in other countries, they just used it.

Like for example, in Mandarin we call Ms as "xiao jie". But there is another meaning for this word in china, which is bad because in china, calling women that term is calling them prostitutes, which can be considered as a cuss word for the china women.

So ya, sometimes we tend to get mix up, so... chillax. I think it's alright as long as we never use the regular cuss words in this forums.... if you know what I mean.
