Magix Club's Forum _ Games _ Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2

The hype is real!

Posted by: P-girl Jun 11 2019, 6:51 AM

Same!
I am SUCH a fan of the original and was always so sad it didn't really get a chance.
And now we're here.
I'm so ready.
(Bit bummed that Gangrel didn't make it as a playable clan but I understand from both a gameplay and story perspective why they were left out for now. Here's hoping for DLC.)

I'm sure if the game does well they'll be dlc! I can't even tell you how many times I've played and beaten the original. I always have so much fun playing it. When I'm done with Hollow Knight I might start a blood lines let's play in preparation for 2.

And it's Paradox Studios as their publisher, they do REALLY well with post-launch DLC. (And games in general.)
And the game did REALLY well on pre-orders the day it was announced. (I think it set a record?)
I've played the old game SO much (Every ending at least once). I'd love a playthrough on your channel.

Funny you mention that! Once I finish Hollow Knight I was thinking of doing a Let's Play of Vampire the Masquerade. I've been trying to decide if I should just pick a race to play as or if I should do the test at the beginning!

Posted by: P-girl Jun 16 2019, 2:13 PM

Doing the test would be cool if you don't know what you want to pick.

Posted by: Ranma Jun 16 2019, 7:11 PM

I think I've literally beaten the game with everything except for Gangrel and Nosferatu XD

Posted by: P-girl Jun 17 2019, 6:28 AM

I did it with those too. Gangrel is interesting for me since it adds some interesting dialogue to one of my fave characters.

Vampire: The Masquerade was a masterpiece in storytelling. You can literally play the same exact story over and over again because the small changes in each play through are always really interesting.

I adore the story and more importantly, the characters in this game. I stand by my opinion that Sebastian LaCroix might be one of Video Game's greatest antagonists and the best example of having one be pathetic not be a point against them. (Does that make sense? When I say this I get a lot of 'But he's weak and a loser' and I'm like 'I know, that's why he's so great'.)

Posted by: Ranma Jun 27 2019, 11:13 PM

I totally get it. I loved every character in the game, LaCroix especially!

Posted by: P-girl Jun 28 2019, 6:24 AM

The voice acting also helps, Bloodlines has some amazing voice acting, especially for the time.

Posted by: Ranma Jun 28 2019, 11:26 AM

Yeah, Jeannette was my favorite character. I loved going to the club just to hear her dialogue options. Speaking of which, my raptor that died on my channel was named after her XD

Posted by: P-girl Jun 28 2019, 1:46 PM

My fave is the Southland Slasher (And I'm still bummed that he never got a real name.), his voice acting really sells someone who's violent and angry, but also extremely hurt.

Posted by: Ranma Jul 3 2019, 5:43 PM

Yes!

Posted by: P-girl Jul 3 2019, 6:39 PM

It helps that his quest is pretty amazing, combining sleuthing with what amounts to a dialogue boss.

It really is a shame that when the game was first released it was so buggy that it was almost unplayable. I'm so happy that the game had such a great modding community. If Bloodlines 2 is half as good I'll be happy. No game has made me feel more like a vampire as Vampire the Masquerade. Though, Vampyr, was really good. It just didn't have the replay value as Bloodlines.

I'm personally already satisfied with having a character creator. While I have a soft spot for the ones they used and I don't want to dunk on the game due to its history of being, well, kinda screwed over, but that was really missing from the original.

Posted by: Ranma Jul 4 2019, 12:22 PM

I agree. I always wanted to customize my character.

Posted by: P-girl Jul 4 2019, 4:55 PM

Like, we didn't have a clear look yet (And the model used in the gameplay footage seen is.... kinda boring) but I really hope we can create some neat characters.

Posted by: Ranma Jul 16 2019, 3:38 AM

Same. I remember when they were making the MMO. They actually hired a fashion designer to design outfits for the game. I'm really hoping that they did something similar with this game.

Posted by: P-girl Jul 16 2019, 7:39 AM

I hope so too. I main a Toreador. I wanna look fancy.
The character models they've shown off do give me hope.
What I would also love to see is some stuff from the previous game. Like, the female Tremere's final outfit (The coat with the fuzzy wrists) is one of my fave clothing pieces in a game ever and if I can walk around in that again, I'd be so happy.

Also, RIP the Vampire MMO. Oh what might have been.

Posted by: Ranma Aug 1 2019, 2:50 PM

I was so looking forward to it XD

That's one thing I love about Secret World. The clothing options! If I want to fight Cthulhu wearing a pinstripe suit I'm going to fight Cthulhu wearing a pinstripe suit! lol.

Posted by: P-girl Aug 2 2019, 6:38 AM

Same. There's too few video games where you can dress however you want. (I'm personally partial to the Deck outfits. Especially Templar.)

Posted by: Ranma Aug 7 2019, 5:55 AM

I LOVED the deck outfits! I really wish that I was able to transfer those over to legends. I worked hard to unlock a lot of them. I used the templar knight outfit a lot, and the priest was really fun to use too.

Posted by: P-girl Aug 7 2019, 8:21 AM

They did, actually! At least the ones you've unlocked in TSW and if you've connected your accounts. It happened during the first anniversary and from what I could tell, it was automatic.

Posted by: Ranma Aug 7 2019, 9:24 AM

Nice! I unlocked most of the the decks. There were only 1 or 2 that I didn't have if I remember correctly.
