So they have signed an actor to play Batman in the 2015 Superman/Batman movie and the actor is.....Ben Affleck? Mhm of all the actors they could have picked (Karl Urban, Dwyane Johnson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, just to name a few) they pick BEN AFFLECK. Now I like Affleck I really do....but....no just no! This can NOT be happening.........dahhh....just no!
I dunno. I liked Affleck in his more recent movies.
Can't be worse then George Clooney.
Also, this feels familiar. Wasn't this the initial reaction to Heath Ledger as the Joker? And wasn't he the best thing to happen to that movie?
Gonna call them when I see them.
But then again, I'm not a Batman fan.
I see your point with the Ledger/Joker thing. And no one can play a worse Batman then Clooney. I love Affleck, I really do, but....I just don't see him as Batman. guess only time will tell.....dahh that's like 2 years away.....
To me this is like the ultimate example of people always focussing on the bad things someone did. I mean, yeah, Ben Affleck was in a couple of clunkers, but now? He was great in Argo. And how about the films he directed? Those are critically acclaimed.
I never said that Affleck's a bad actor, I love his acting. He's just not the person I would have casted.....
Why not?
Well I would have pick someone who has done a lot more action then he has, I mean he was great in Daredevil.....(even though that movie's script and special effects were ****, Affleck's acting was great)...so I mean he can do action. I guess when I think of Batman I think if this built, muscular, guy....not saying that Affleck not built, just saying that when I look at Ben Affleck I don't see Batman.
I think of it this way;
The fact that he's not obviously Batman makes him a great Batman, if that makes sense. Remember, Bruce Wayne doesn't want people to know he's Batman.
True...I guess I just needed time to process the idea..I've clamed down now and I don't think that Affleck is gonna fall flat on his face any more
Hey, if it's a comfort.... Can't get any worse then Clooney, amirite?
haha Batman and Robin......yea that's one movie I wish I could unsee....I only watched it b.c I know Clooney and Chris O'Donnell were in it......batnipples......just NO
I admit I was never really a Batman fan. But then again, as a European I never grew up with Superhero comics.
I mean I live in the USA but I don't read comic books, but theres something about Superheroes (and Batman in particular) that I love. The face that you can have an alter ego (ion comics) I just love that Idea and the fact that not a lot of people know that Wayne is Batman
My initial reaction was not an overtly excited one, I can tell you that. But! They could have picked someone a lot worse. Affleck isn't a terrible actor (I really wasn't a fan of Argo, but that's for another reason entirely), and I do like how they're going for more of an aged, veteran like Batman. But yeah. We'll have to see.
I agreed that they went with a middle aged Batman, verses a teenage like in Batman Beyond. I just wanna see who they cast as Lex Luther.
I'm more worried about who they're casting as Wonder Woman XD
Any particular reason why? Because I think that Gal Gadot will be able to pull it off. There's a lot riding on her performance though. Like. This is it for female superhero movies. If Wonder Woman doesn't work well in this movie, it seems fairly unlikely that there will be anything else done with her, and she's DC's biggest female hero name. If Wonder Woman doesn't work out, then there's no way any other awesome ladies will be featured in anything else, and that's what makes me worried.
That makes a lot of sense....I think she'll do fine...what worries me is how her, Affleck and Henry Cavill are going to blend together on screen
