I think you can find powerful computer that makes little noise.
It has to do with how good the tower is (how quiet the fans are). the more expensive tower - the more quiet comp.
If you are buying "already made" desktop computer it might be quite expensive to find really silent one, since it would mean the other parts are also quite expensive, but if you buy your own parts, you can do whatever you want icon_wink.gif

I have a laptop, and its quiet unless im very tired or ill (then everything is too loud, even a silence)

Is it the fans or not? If it is the fans, clean out the computer. If your computer is "moaning", it might be using alot of processing power.

To check if it is the processor, press ctrl, alt, and del, go to preformance, and check how high the CPU usage bar is.

If it is high,, over 50%, go to processes, and click the CPU tab to sort by which program is using more. End the task of what is using processing power, and if the moaning doesnt stop, it might be fans.

It's the fans they are making lots of annoying noise. I think im just gonna buy a new computer soon because even cleaning them doesn't help much.

That was humorous Bubamara!

I have had fans get old and noisy (the kind in the computer, ha). I also put together a new comp semi recently. The fans that came with the case were loud and lame. After replacing the key offender and unplugging another, the comp is so much quieter and the air is flowing. Still no silence though.

Think hard about desktop versus laptop.

Hmm...I'm not really sure. My computer is a 2002ish (Maybe 01? I'm not really sure) MacOSX. It's extremely quiet, yet pretty old. Maybe you should get an iMac. Their amazing.

my old computer was noisy too,
but now I have new computer,
if computer is noisy maybe in proccesor is dust, you must clean it.
this is my advice, but if you want you can buy new.

Computers tend to be more powerful and have more memory than a laptop at the same price

my laptop tends to do weird things, there again if it had been a computer it would have blown up by now (are family has a great record with computers, 3 computers all blown up at some point)

that's punishment for buying legal music icon_wink.gif

I agree with MightyMarty, it's better to buy desktop if you are using it in the home (you don't need to carry it around, or you don't move a lot), since for the same money you can get much better computer, and they are easier to maintain (its really hard to replace some part in the laptop, if it is not under warranty, or to clean fans)

I think the most nosiest part of my computer is the DVD drive, which I don't use much. :)
