Notice that some of the strands are just flat colour in this pic? That's because I am using my technique of 'dodge & burn'!
This technique involves laying down the base flat colour (in the shape of what needs to be), then using the 'burn' tool, I darken the flat colour into various shades where I need to, and using some creative switching between the 3 burn settings (Highlights, Midtones & Shadow), I can vary the colour of the shading as well.
Now when the burning is done, I then use the 'dodge' tool to create the highlights, again by switching between the dodge settings (same as the burn ones), I can vary the colour of the highlights as well. The result of all this, is what you see above! I hope this has been somewhat informative
