Found out about it just yesterday, and the people there absolutely hate the Inheritance cycle. They've pointed out flaws in Paolini's works, signs that he is no prodigy but someone who simply wrote a story of blatant wishfulfilment, and also declared the Empire to not be flawed.

Think about it. Have we actually seen much of the Empire's evil? The Dragon Riders were a military junta, an autocratic governing body that answered to nobody. The Elves are a bunch of arrogant aethiests, whom apparantly have nothing keeping them from opposing the Empire except they just are lazy to boot.

Anyways, for anti-fans of the series, I encourage you to go there for a few laughs. And for fans, well, they're not jerks about not liking it. They acknowledge when the fans are right about an issue, so you might want to go there to, if only to enjoy some fun debates.

Thanks for that. Altough not familiar with the franchise except one, dissapointing movie, I find this an interesting site, and right up my alley.

*Toroughly reading stuff*

I am SO familiar with the 'Sides of Rabidity'-article, especially the 'Ad Hominem' attacks. (On this forum, even..... but I won't go into details.). Come on, guys, don't diss someone personally in an argument about TV-Shows, movies or RP-characters. Not cool.

*Reads more*

And yeah, I should stop being such a stubborn, nitpicking and sometimes snarky nuisance.

It's scary how good some fanfics some can be.

It's even scarier how bad some published works can be.

Ah well, sometimes it's good to have popular books and say 'I've read and written better fanfiction then this.'

Yeah, but theres a girl I work with that absolutely loves Twilight. My sister tried getting me to read it as well, so I don't have an opinion on something I've never read. However, I hated the Eragon movie. It was cliche and there was nothing original about the damn thing.

True. The work just sounds so.... lazy in a way. So many effort goes into useless exposition and silly use of words, and so little in the actual story.

I agree. It was right after I took my story telling class when I watched the movie. I was in the middle of making my game's story treatment, and I was really picking apart the movie.

((Speaking of which, there is one fight with a dragon in the before mentioned game treatment, and I hardly put any emphasis on it at all. ^_^ When I wrote the script there was hardly any dialogue at all for that part... ))

Sounds good. Fights shouldn't have to much dialogues. Especially when mythological beasties are involved.

I know, but it always made me chuckle.

"OMG it's a dragon!"

Main Character: "Who cares? Kill it!"

Secondary Character: "WTF! Its a dragon!"

Main Character: "Still just a lizard."

*fight*

*End fight*

"We killed a dragon!"

"Yeah, guardian of blah blah blah."

"That sucks..."

Main Character: "Yeah, but now we can get through this stupid forest."

"YAY!"

((I mean, that wasn't the actual conversation or anything, but that was about the length of the dialogue.))

lol.

Lolz. I remember fighting the Phantom in Cave Story. You go to pick up some medicine and it appears and starts trying to kill you. No explanation why it's there, and it never shows up ever again.

Truly, the Giant Space Flea from out of Nowhere archetype of enemy is sorely under appreciated.

Lol, gotta love it. Video games don't have awesome fights and random monsters like that anymore.

"what the hell is that thing doing there?"

"oh well better kill it."

*whackwhackwhack*

the very first boss is one. then practically all the bosses that just happen to be there, like the Fire Gigas.

although the best fight was the Frost Gigas.

Spoiler!
I Beat up Santa? Awesome!

Admittedly, I liked the first Eragon book, but I thought the movie was greatly disappointing. Now, the second book turned me off from the series forever. Like Twilight, I go maybe 2-3 chapters in before I stared in confusion and put it away, never to be picked up again. I mean, even though I had read the first book, I honestly had no care as to how the story ended. I will definitely click on that site.

Actually, I liked the second book slightly better for one reason: Roran, Eragon's cousin. More time should have been spent on him, rather than Eragon's lusting over the elf lady. MUCH more time.

See? I don't think I got far enough into the second book to see how much it focussed around him. The elf lady never ceased with piss me off when I read the first one, though.

But! On the good side of things, I loved the site you posted. Not only did it have the Eragon stuff, but it made fun of Twilight as well.

I'm thinking of making a Matei Mizuki drabble off of that whole "Hey, let's camp out and cosplay as our characters and write bad poetry!" idea.

Because, let's face it. There's only one way to deal with inappropriately angsty goths. Black Mage shows us the way, after Red Mage discovers the Live-Action-Role-Play vampire fanboy Vilbert refuses to accept a Natural 20 dice roll as a valid choice in Rock-Paper-Scissors.

I know not all goths are like this. Only the select stereotypical ones. Which Twilight seems to stimulate the reproduction of.

Er.... right.

I can never find myself ridiculing cosplay. My best friend is an active L.A.R.P.-er (camping out and cosplaying.... yeah, I think it's silly to.), and I still want to pose as Finn someday. (Yes, Finn, I want his pants)

Oh, cosplaying isn't stupid by default. I'd love to cosplay as Jotaro Kujo or Dio Brando sometime. Or possibly Gendo Ikari... because I've already got the hair color, the glasses, and the stubble.
