you have to make a sacrifice and be prefered to nearly kill yourself for someone else not everyone would/could do that and not everyone will graduate. Also there are a lot more faries than just at alfea

'Making a great sacrifice' doesn't always involve dying. *Points to Layla*

But since we don't see others..... we don't know wether they're the exception or the rule. I tend to go for the first option. They're the exception.

Fairy Dust is Enchantix only. That's the connection. No Enchantix, no Fairy Dust. Marty stated that maybe Fairy Dust was rare because of that, but now I'm defending that it isn't, since Enchantix is a state of being a fairy, and presumably the Graduation neccesity for Alfea.

Did it ever actually say that you have to get Enchantix to graduate? I never saw all of S3, so it could have and I missed it, but I don't remember. If that's the case, then there are probably a lot of fairies who don't graduate every year, because not everyone is presented with an opportunity to give a great sacrifice by the time they graduate.

It's the showing of a true fairy. Why shouldn't it be?

You really think they'd take it so far in a kid's show?

And Humbu: We never see Chimera transform, so we can't know wether she has her Enchantix form. We see Diaspro transform once and that was in first year. And besides, who says they were graduated? We don't know in which year these two girls are. I'm presuming in the same years as the other girls. And in both those instances, they didn't have Enchantix yet.

I guess Enchantix strikes me as a weird thing to have as a requirement because you can't really just work towards it on your own, it requires specific circumstances to happen. Do fairies have to just go back to their home planet and wander around looking for somebody to make a sacrifice for before they graduate, or something?

Well, seeing as the Winx have to battle evil every friggin' school-year (And just look at the kind of creatures that popped out of the Omega Dimension)......

Alright, just like the Fairy Dust not working on actual injuries, Enchantix being a graduation prequisite and Avalon's role being reduced because he has post-traumatic stress disorder, it's a fan theory, but I think the Magic Realm isn't as safe and perfect as they mostly claim, and getting your Enchantix isn't really that hard.

That's true. I guess I was thinking that before the show actually started, things had been more relatively peaceful and thus it was harder to earn Enchantix, but there's always bound to be danger in a hueg magical dimension.

And the more rational side of me thinks that if it was a requirement for graduation, we would have heard it mentioned at least once before their senior year, like in the battle for Alfea at the end of season one, some of the senior fairies must have had it by then. But Winx does kind of have a habit of making stuff up as the seasons progress, so I guess I shouldn't look too much into it.

I think Fairy Dust is freaking awesome. It's proved to be extremely useful quite a few times. Example time:

1- The Winx girl's were able to break quite a few dark spells with it: Black Willow, Sky, Galatea's wings, Sky, Layla's eyes...the list continues.

2- Without it, they can't shrink. They had to shrink to get into the Golden Kingdom, allowing them to gain possession of the Water Stars, as well as in the Movie, they had to be able to fit into that one tree to find the key to Obsidian.

3- Finally, in the original version of Winx Club, Bloom used fairydust to beat B(V)altor for pete's sake! I don't know why 4kids cut that one out. It made so much more sense. If fairydust is that powerful, it can't be a bad thing.

Well, I'm not a fan of so-called 'God-moding', either in games and/or other fiction. And Fairy Dust smells like that.

By now, I think the argument can be split up in two things:
Fairy Dust can do everything! That's awesome!
Fairy Dust can do everything! That sucks!

Most people actually like it that Fairy Dust is this all-powerful stuff. I don't. It's to damn powerful in my opinion. I like my characters to WORK for their happy endings. And with one of the mayor themes of Enchantix being a sacrifice, I taught I'd get stuff like that in Season 3..... but no, Fairy Dust comes in and saves the day with little to no effort.

Probably not. I'm sure there's others, though they haven't posted here.
