I know it may sound stupid but i dont know what is roleplaying?

Role playing is where you act as a character out of something or i made up one. Where you act how they would and interact with others

Roleplaying is when you take the role of someone, and play it out. In our RP section..... it's basically telling a story together. Each takes one character (Be it self-designed or from a fandom.) and act him out, forming an adventure. Most have a leader (Old D&D love keeps me calling them 'Dungeon Masters') which gives a plot and/or environment, and basically we play it out. (Note that this doesn't mean we follow a pre-destined path, our characters, and ultimately us, make the choices, and are free to do what we want, within the frame of the character, his personality, powers and, of course, rules of decency.)


That's how I would explain RP-ing.

Apart from playing out your character, it's also storytelling via text-based posts. Most good RPs try to balance story with equal shares of social interaction and combat, and both systems require that you fully understand your character's personality and abilities and implement them using common sense and logic. Also, if you ever struggle with things in an RP, you can always talk to everyone else or even the leader for advice. The whole point is to play out a story successfully so everyone can have fun.

Or at least that's how I see it thus far. Anyone can feel free to correct me.

Here. Read this one. It used to be our longest-lasting and has been the best example of what an RP should be - or at least the basics of it, anyways. Just read a few pages past the bios if you don't feel like plunging through the entire thing, and you should get the hang of it.

Role Playing is like you pretending to be a character and that character is the role you play. But on this forum we narrate the role we choose to play.
