Great idea for a topic thumbsup.gif.

My music taste is kind of different: I love alternative rock and electronic (I know, funny combination right?)

None of the following songs are really inappropriate (24 is a bit dark, though... and Signs is terribly depressing, as is Breathe Me...)

Anyway, if I were to suggest only a few songs, this would be my list:
1) Smile, By Olive
This is probably my favorite song. It's so melancholy and slow, but beautiful. It gives me shivers whenever I hear it. ^_^
I love Olive... they're not very well known... at all... but I think they're amazing. I'd also suggest listening to "You're Not Alone".
(Genre: electronic)

2) Signs by Bloc Party
If Smile isn't my favorite song, this song is. Saddest song I've ever heard... but I love it for some reason... It's just so... different.... unique... beautiful, despite how terribly depressing it is...

3) 24 by Jem
A darker song, but one of my favorites. (Evanescence fans may like this).

4)Let Go, Frou Frou
This leans more toward electronic music... Imogen Heap is a genius, though. She has a very unique style.

5)The Scientist, Yellow, What If, and Square One by Coldplay...
I love Coldplay. They're brilliant... I'd definitely suggest giving them a listen... (I'd suggest listening to Yellow).
(Alternative rock fans will like this, such as those who like Snow Patrol, The Fray, etc.)

But my favorite Coldplay song is one that is not that popular or well-known...:
See You Soon
(I'd click the track box and not the video.)
It's a soft acoustic song... Very pretty... ^_^

6)Breathe Me - Sia
The content may not be suitable for youngsters, as it's depressing, but there aren't any curse words.
Another sad, melancholy song...

7) and finally The District Sleeps Alone by The Postal Service.
It's electronic! I personally love The Postal Service. If anyone likes Death Cab for Cutie, the singer is same. ^_^

@ Zhanneel, if you like ATB, I would suggest a song of theirs called Ecstasy (No, they're not talking about the actual drug. tongue.gif )

I really like some of Boo's, and I totally agree, Coldplay is great.

But I also like this little band, and they are an indie band, and they're different than the stuff I usually like, but I do love em,

I bring you all The Boy Least Likely To.

Yout may've heard this one, it has semi-popularity, I guess. Oh, and it was used on one of the trailers for Juno.

Their cover of George Michael's Faith, which is a great song, and this is a really good cover, IMO.

A song called I'm Glad I Hitched Your Apple Wagon to Your Star

My Tiger My Heart, this is based off Clavin and Hobbes, and the fact that as the comics progressed, Hobbes started appearing less frequently, and how he's just a figment of Calvin's childish imagination, and growing up. This is a nice song.

These are some of my favourites. Have a listen to some others and lemme know what you think.
