So about two hours ago, my friend yells at me over windows live that I send him a spam email. He forwards it to me and it was sent to my entire address book, and it was one of those generic spam emails.. I know I didn't send this, and around the same time I had to re-login to my yahoo account. I normally only need to do that every 2 weeks..

I scanned my computer and there were no viruses.. Whats up, could someone of hacked my yahoo account and sent an email out through it, or could a virus of done it from my computer?

That happened to me too. For mine (in hotmail) it was like a bug that gets spread if you tried to open the attachment that the email had in it. According to my cousin, after he tried to open the one I sent him he found 3 trojans on his computer which he's pretty sure werent there before. Basically the emails got sent out from me like 2 or 3 times and I added into my signature that if you get an email from me with attachments, its not me its like some virus thing. Within like 2 days I never heard from it again. I think just wait it out and it should stop on its own.

For me it was my dad who opened it on this computer, he got it from one of his work contacts o_0 Is your computer shared? Or maybe you used email on a library/school computer that had the bug?

Simple solution, change your passwords. Hope that helps.

No offence, but that was the first thing I did when I realized it was happening. It still sent out like one or 2 more rounds of spam after changing it until it stopped.
