First, I've become addicted to the free-photoshop program, Gimp ^^. It's been great so far, except when I load some pictures onto the internet. For example: my current avatar. I saved it as a PNG to make sure it was internet ready, and now (and maybe I'm just nit-picky) the pic seems much more blurry than the original (shown below):

Maybe it's just the MC site causing it to blur, but I've seen many other avatars around the forum that still look very clear. Granted, my original pic isn't that clear either, but it does look a little better. Does anyone have any tips on how to stop the blur from happening? Maybe I need to save the PNG differently? I could over-sharpen it I guess. Thanks for any help, sorry this is a little confusing.

The format you saved it in is fine. Your problem is that the MC sever is being nit-picky.

The maximum avvie size allowed on MC is 100 by 100 pixels. Yours is 104 by 104. Thus, the sever resized it a bit, and made it blurry. So, if you want to fix the blurriness, you have to upload an avatar that's exactly 100 by 100 pixel, or smaller.

Hope I helped! ^^

You're welcome! Glad I could help.

I faced the same problem when trying to upload an avatar that was 110 by 110 pixels. Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it soon enough.
