'Kay, so re: our ideas in the Time To Bring Some Life Back To MC thread, here are the rules for the one-shot fan-fiction contest. I wanted to bounce these off you guys first, they're pretty basic. Then if there are no objections, we can start the contest.

1. Winx-related stories only, please. Any season, even if there may be spoilers, is fine, but especially if we're going to have people vote for the winner (or would you guys prefer judges?), I think we need at least a little uniformity.
2. OCs (original characters) are permitted.
3. Keep it PG-13, at the most.
4. Word limit: 1000 1500 words. {This is the main thing I wanted to check with you guys. What do you think? Too much? Too little?}
5. Deadline: April 30^th. {Again, are you all fine with this? And do you want a fixed date for when people can sign-up as well? Like, maybe, no entrants accepted after April 10^th, or something?}
6. TOPIC:
Take any minor incident from the show and elaborate on it. {Example: Stella's lab accident, shown at the beginning of Season 1.}
You can change the course of an event, but don't change its outcome. {For example, you can change the way Stella and Bloom meet, but keep the canon ending.}

I would like to enter. But.... could it be a bit more specific? A winx one-shot..... what about? Canon pairing? Non-canon pairing? Rare-Pairs? Adventure? Angst? Dealing with a deceased member of the group? Bad guys' P.O.V.? Secondary Character P.O.V.? Most of these contests at least have a subject.

I didn't think it needed a more specific subject. I mean, it could deal with pretty much any of the ideas you just posted. But that's the whole reason I made this topic in the first place, so if the others agree, we could decide on a fixed subject. =)

Personally, I'm always interested in taking an event and placing it in a different P.O.V. like.... y'know, one of the sieges of Alfea trough the eyes of a teacher or a minor student. But that's just me.

I would like to sign up, Jah. Oh, by the way, I think that the word limit is a bit low. What about 1500 words maximum, maybe?
As for the subject, I agree that a bit specification (?) might be required. That'll make it a tad harder and more interesting, to my opinion.

And topic-wise, I'm pretty blank, atm. I'll brainstorm for a bit, but in the mean time, do you guys have any suggestions?

Already took yours into consideration, P-girl. And I really like dealing with a deceased member of the group, bad guys' P.O.V. and Secondary Character P.O.V., so if we don't come up with anything in the next few days, we'll go with one of yours. =)

Some novel writers set a goal of 1000 words a day. I would be curious to see how entrants use their 1500 and how long it took.

I'm in! I cant guarantee I'll make an entry but I'll definately try ^^ And I think we have to be really careful when making specifications cause if any entrant doesnt like the topic or thinks its boring or whatever it would seriously hurt their chances. I personally think we shouldnt be allowed to include OCs cause it could become messy and we should keep it with the characters we have. But thats just me (:

Oh and I think voting rather than judges is good ^^

For people who sign up you want them to have winx original characters only. You want it to have to deal with one of the seasons already made? and You Somewhat Spoilers but you dont really care? And it is do by april 30th with 1500 words at most and least?
