This is just to remind you guys that you have two weeks left to submit your one-shot for the contest. So for anyone who hasn't finished, you still have plenty of time. Or if you haven't signed up yet but you want to, you still can.

Oh, and I'll just copy-paste the rules here to make things quicker:

Spoiler!
1. Winx-related stories only, please. Any season, even if there may be spoilers, is fine, but especially if we're going to have people vote for the winner (or would you guys prefer judges?), I think we need at least a little uniformity.
2. OCs (original characters) are permitted.
3. Keep it PG-13, at the most.
4. Word limit: 1000 1500 words. {This is the main thing I wanted to check with you guys. What do you think? Too much? Too little?}
5. Deadline: April 30th. {Again, are you all fine with this? And do you want a fixed date for when people can sign-up as well? Like, maybe, no entrants accepted after April 10th, or something?}
6. TOPIC:
Take any minor incident from the show and elaborate on it. {Example: Stella's lab accident, shown at the beginning of Season 1.}
You can change the course of an event, but don't change its outcome. {For example, you can change the way Stella and Bloom meet, but keep the canon ending.}

Oh, btw, for those of you who don't know, the deadline's been slightly extended, to May 5th. So you've got a little extra time, if you still have to tie up the loose ends in your story. =)

Gargh, I know our fics are at most 1500, but is it okay, if mine's shorterish. I'm not too sure of how many words yet, but I don't think it'll be 1500 unless I ramble. I could type 1500, but this fic will be more powerful if it's shorter, IMO.

1500's the limit. I think as long as it crosses 1000, it's fine. {Or maybe even less. I mean, it depends on the story. I'm not pushing anyone to ramble, that'll kill the writing.}

What I've been wanting to ask.... even with the dead-line, I'm a bit pressed for inspiration. How bad would it be to deliver an already published story I wrote? It fits the guidelines..... or would that be considered cheating?

Uh, I don't think that's strictly cheating, since it's already your own work, but yeah, it is a little lazy. xD {...But if you're really feeling stuck, I don't mind.}

Well, if it comes to it, it will be a last-ditch effort anyway, so don't worry too much. I just wanted to make sure.

This is going to sound kind of...eh. I'm not sure how this is going to come off, but I have to say it anyway.

I don't think that's fair. Everyone else has to write a brand-new story in a deadline, writers block or not, and if you were just to recycle one of yours, well, that's not fair. You could have spent as long as you wanted on that story, and we all have to write ours in a few weeks. Plus, if we let one person do something like this, everyone will want to.

So no. I think you should either write a new story, or drop out of the contest.

Alright then, consider me dropped out. I just..... can't think of anything on such a short term. So scrap my name off the list. Last time I try something like this. But please let me ask this: Wasn't this a writing contest? Or a meet-the-deadline contest? I'd be fully aware that people would also want to do it. And I would accept it. This is why I don't do contests: It's about speed, more then skill. And that's NOT what writing's about.

I don't want to..... But I just can't come up with anything. Except a work I already have, but if that's so uncalled for, I'm sorry, I just don't want to cause a riot because of it. Why is this such a big deal, anyway? Lack of effort? I'm a perfectionist to the point it's getting ridiculous. I spent hours on three different stories for this. And the story I want to submit instead is also a work with a lot of effort. All my work is.

I already said I'm alright with it; now it's your decision. I'd rather you didn't drop out. =)
