Okay, this hits it on the head! I see the parallels Winxclubeventi and P-girl are talking about! Leggings, collar, even a rounded full-length dress. I like it! This is the most I've been excited about anything "Winx" in maybe 5 years? Heh.

Hey there peoples! I think this new development is exciting, certainly from my point of view. I was keen on the first three seasons. The simpler, and I think "funner" outfits. The differentiation of the cast. Specialists who could fight magical creatures. Stella's Staff of Solaria! This new season 8 take, if it is for real might be a fresh boost to the franchise which, IMO, has spiraled down into couture and an ever narrowing audience. A space adventure with the girls and hopefully the specialists would be different and interesting. I recall that unusual iceberg-looking spaceship from season 4. It was different, and I liked it. Imagine a mature wise space fairy and her ship. She takes the Winx girls on a season long adventure to fight some big baddie from planet to planet. She has some sort of oracle chamber in the heart of the ship to keep tabs on the bad guy's plans, which is why it has to go with them as opposed to just dimensionally traveling there. With the hearkening back to a simpler style, and shades of "Magical Bloom" era designs, I would love to see the Staff of Solaria make its triumphant return!

QUOTE (P-girl @ Mar 17 2018, 11:38 AM) Yeah! Whether or not that means we're in 'Reboot' territory or just a change in artstyle, I dunno. That said, I do feel that this season will skew younger in terms of demographic. Not something I mind myself, but it has been a complaint about the newer seasons with others. I agree, not sure it's heading to reboot territory yet. It seems to be a new transformation in the continuity, as opposed to a starter/reboot transformation. At least that is the feeling I get from the new stylized Season 8 outfits. I'm thinking if it was a reboot they would start with something more simple again. And I kind of agree, on the lower age demographic. If it does skewer lower it doesn't have to be a bad thing either. In fact, I think that World of Winx was getting out of control with the high-end fashion. Couture is pretty and all, but when the show becomes only about fashion and senseless outfit change after outfit change...I forget what the show is even about at some point. I remember Season 5-7 also suffering from this. QUOTE (Fortress Guy @ Mar 17 2018, 7:26 PM) Hey there peoples! I think this new development is exciting, certainly from my point of view. (Even though I just talked to you a minute ago in real life xD) Yeeeeees, Staff of Solaria! Perhaps the staff can have it's own spin-off series? But seriously, I really do like that staff. I remember that ship now that you mentioned it, because ironically I JUST happened upon it while looking up concept art tonight. See info box below for picture. That is the vessel which the Earth fairies used to get to Earth? That is a plot point that could use more fleshing out for sure. I like your idea/reasoning for which the girls would have to travel through space via a ship. Well, we'll just have to see what the creator has in mind for this "star" transformation. I guess there is a chance it has nothing to do with space.

QUOTE (mightymarty2 @ Mar 18 2018, 3:58 AM) Well the name certainly indicate space themed and given the time frame a reboot is possible. However I cannot see it. I think the live action if it comes true will be a reboot but not the main series.
I do miss the specialists being useful and Stella's staff. It was nice to see some more magical items. I agree Marty. The live action would almost certainly have to be a reboot. I doubt they would start an entirely different version of the show, and try to continue 8 seasons in. Origin stories are catchy. They won't pass it up, and an opportunity to put their own spin on it. Magic items! Yes. Re-watching some RAI first and second season episodes, it was cool to see Stella kick some butt with it. I feel in later seasons it became too much about Bloom. So true about the specialists. Remember when they could once block magic attacks? Those were the days. You found some cool concept art Zhanneel. It seems the concept went to final with little change. Nice find. Well, a new space season may be just the thing to pump some action into a series that made good use of it for the first three seasons.

I too am so ready for intergalactic space fairies! Or something similar. I'll take what I can get, heh.
I believe it was reported that the live action will be some sort of early years of the Winx girls, so a reboot would be appropriate. Something about the girls learning to use their powers I believe.
Ahhh, the Specialists. Please bring them back and give them (and the main girls) more development. That's why I feel it's been lacking, especially is world of Winx. The character arcs haven't really been moving, the specialist weren't even existent, and I really didn't feel that the story had anything to do with the girls themselves. Also, the generic "let's go Winx!" is getting old to me. As if the girls only exist in a conglomerate identity. I liked it better when each girl had her own uniqueness and her own name. Haha. Maybe Season 8 will restore that somewhat.
I really did appreciate when the creators made a special trip to Tecna's planet to see her parents. The same with Flora's family too. That was a great step forward on their part.

Even though I like the Specialists, I can also see your point P-girl. There has been way too much time taken from the main 6 over the recent Winx seasons. I understand the creators bring in new creatures for kids to ooh and ahh over every season (pixies, pixie pets, selkies, fairy animals...), but it has not been balanced time-wise. Too much time has been diverted to creatures or characters who do nothing to advance the main 6 and their arcs. I really think Season 1-3 hit an awesome balance with introducing other characters but also giving story arc time to the girls. After the Nickelodeon reboot the whole tenor of the show changed. It's no longer about the girls's stories, but rather about whoever comes into their paths. Their personal journeys have been halted. World of Winx could have done so much more, showing the challenges of being an adult fairy...but the arcs went virtually no where. I could really use some character development. This may not be a popular idea, but I'd even settle for the girls growing up and having a second generation reboot the show. (Not an ideal situation, but if the main characters no longer grow I'd take it?) And Marty, I agree, I've always liked the Specialists for many reasons. :) As stories go, it does make for good character development for the main 6. In real life, these girls would contend with boyfriends, marriage, relationship conflict, family members, and friendships. Basically all the people a normal teenager or young adult would have in their life. And seeing these people in their lives gives a much greater depth to each of the main 6-- they are no longer a one-dimensional person. The ones I disagree with are the fleeting seasonal characters that are only there for a small segment of the show, and then are gone by next season and never mentioned again. Those characters do almost nothing to enhance the main six stories. The Specialists, like family and friends, enhance the girls's growth (and I just think the Specialists are cool and offer a lot to the show). Now if it's too hard to have 6 main characters and their boyfriends every episode, then do what My Little Pony FIM does, and make episodes that showcase a B plot with one or two Specialists at a time. The writers don't have to put everyone in every single episode. Spread it out over the season. Okay, that was long. Thanks for reading whoever did.

And on a season 8 note, apparently somebody got a little too trigger-happy online with the confirmation of the new transformation. So far there is no name as of yet for the transformation. And we probably won't know it until many months later, since we still have about a year before season 8 is released anyway. I bet you guys have already seen this, but Winx Club RUS has some nice images on their Deviant Art page. Not sure if these have been edited, but they do look nice. ( I don't have time to figure out the new image linking rules, so here are the full links, heh.) Bloom: https://winxclubrus.deviantart.com/art/New-Power-735799101Flora: https://winxclubrus.deviantart.com/art/New-Power-736127570I have a feeling since these previews are coming out so far in advance of the actual release date of season 8 that these outfits are going to go through a lot of changes before we see them in the cartoon. I remember the preview of Believix from years ago, and how much that had changed from the preview versions to the final Believix renditions.
