Who is Your favorite or least favorite villain and why?
DARCY!! i love her and her dark powers!
That's a tie between (Evil) Avalon and Valtor.... They're both cute and cunning.
LoL you know who is evil to me
xD Lord Darkar RuleZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think baltor!!!! i just love his evil ways!
I was meant to pick Diaspro but I clicked Kimera by mistake Oops! I love diaspro She is really pretty and it wasnt her fault she lost the love of her life
well I don't really consider diaspro a major villan but I like her. I hate chimera and cassandra. but I also like darcy
I hate then Too Abby, they are just patheic that they have to capture the king to be princess and Queen maybe they should just be nicer!
I know! I mean I just couldn't stand chimera! she has to get everything she wants and what did stella ever do to her? i would like to know that! stella never did anything to her at all but she just HAD to be a princess!!
Icy's annoying but she's a good villian I guess.
I really like Diaspro and Darcy.
Baltor's a good main villian as well.
When she took Stella's crown I was ready to rip her eyes out. I was like how could she do that to Stella?!
oh i know! she had to have gotten in trouble for all the mess she created in downtown magix shooting everywhere! I mean she broke a balcony and a lamp post! the city should have done something to her!
Darkar as he is so evil and so cool the way he can transform. Also uses own powers does not rely on stelling others like Baltor
Yeah she went mad and almost kill pets, As an animal lover I shall say " into the slamer for her"
yup! baltor is ok he is just kinda boring and I don't like how the witches need to follow somebody around and they suck up to that person! chimera should pay!
Baltor is the coolest main villian currently but he's really boring. He has the same expression on all the time
Darcy is the best!!! I love her hair coulor and hairstyle and her powers are kinda cool how she can hypnotise ppl
yeah darcy is the best. baltor gets annoying with him always talking and he just does get boring. yeah your right he usually has the same expression all the time.
I´ve vote for Baltor, I think hes the best villian ever!!!
Hmmm, some non-Winx villains still hold that position (Starscream, Sephiroth, Kefka). He IS the best Winx villain, tough.
Valtor is cute, but toooo old. Darcy and Icy is the best evil villains ^^
Diaspro is not that evil, she just hate to lose her person she love
Cassandra and Chimera sucks like hell, I feel like killing them when I see them.
I went for EvilBloom. she is just amazing when she is stealing the codex and taunting Timmy
After her is Darcy. She doesn't put much energy it to being evil or anything, she is content to lie down and relax. She is only evil for fun, which makes her more evil.
Evil Bloom was awesome, but you know what her problem was together with Evil Avalon and also the fused Trix? The cop-out at the end.
oh i know that was so horrible at the end. I liked evil bloom I wish they made a doll for her but they don't sadly! Anyways though at least the cop-out leaves lots of room for fanfics! Im going to write a good one soon w/ darkar in it because the question remains "did he really die?"
Yeah. we don't know did darkar died???
I went for Darcy. She is funny. Second is Valtor. He is good at her jop.
Evil Bloom is cool too, I like her outfit!
I voted for Baltor, he seems to be the most evil so far.
The witches started getting old after season 1 if you ask me, and Darcy seems pretty nice to actually be a witch. Darkar was too full of himself. I enjoyed the evil avalon (maybe because tecna found out he was evil...just not the evil villian she thought.) Diaspro, Chimera, and Cassandra all get on my nerves . Diaspro, if you ask me, started getting old as well....
yeah whatever happened to avalon anyone know? I would like to know. I liked the witches in season but they are just so dependent on someone else now its boring. yeah I liked diaspro but she gets annoying how they keep making her go after sky and bloom. I hate cassandra and chimera I just don't like them at all. I don't like baltor much. He is pretty evil but idk I just don't like him much.
baltor is ok i think..
but DARCY RULES i looooove her character and her powers^^
yeah darcy is my favorite. i'm thinking about writing a fan fiction about her soon! after her is diaspro!
Darcy seems to me like she's less "witchy" then Icy and Stormy. I think she could be good if she broke away from them.
i like icy because she's really pretty and i like her personality and powers. darcy is kinda boring so i don't really like her... and she has an annoying voice in the finnish version. stormy is funny that's why i like her. valtor is also cool cuz i like making fun of him... xD
Darcy is indeed kinda boring. I like my villains with a temper, that's why Stormy's my fave witch.
my favourite is Darkar.
he is still a mystery. nobody knows that did he really died or not?????
I think he is as Miss Faragonda said "Darkar is over" this to me surgests he is dead.
i vote for darkar and rebecca got a point
yeah her saying that could mean, he is really weakened and he probably won't come back but who knows, it can happen.
I voted for Darkar. seeing as how he's a phoenix, he probably will come back. Also didnt one of the episodes say darkar was blooms oppistie or something like that.
i have to pick icy like her name her heart really is ice lol all the times she failed to get bloom and she still wont give up thats a true vilian lols
(Whoo, almost a year old post =P)
I'm not sure who I'd pick as a favorite (probably a toss up between Darcy, Cassandra, or B(V)altor, who are all for the most part strong and laid back type of power-hungry characters). But as for least favorite I have to give 100% to Darkar. (Granted, my reasoning may be skewed since I have only watched the episodes in the 4kids version.) I could not stand his voice, a little higher pitched and airy-sounding than I would assume for a villain . That combined with the dialogue--which was mostly narcissistic talk about himself and his lovies and his pets--ground my nerves. He whined way too much and was far too conceited for such an ugly looking thing. But, perhaps his Italian version wouldn't bother me so much *shrug*.
In complete contrast to this, I was exceedingly happier when B(V)altor arrived in season 3 to add some appropriate villainy to the scene. The vampire-like dress and appearance and his (thankfully) deeper and calmer voice helped me to picture him as more powerful and stable. He was level headed and calculating in a way that the other villains were not. Crazy, frantic, unorganized villains are just too lame for me. But the more serious, less shallow villains seem to be more dangerous as they are concerned with more important things than fashion or getting revenge on someone just because they can't stand their personality.
Honestly, I don't like any of the villains, mainly because they all seemed so trite and cliche'd. I honestly feel Straffi never put much thought into showing them as actual characters and rather be cardboard cutout evildoers.
The one I dislike the least, however, is Darcy... mainly because there was the *slightest* chance of humanizing her in the first season with Riven. Of course, that all got swept away and never became a plot point *ever again*.
And seriously, what the heck is up with Diaspro? She learns her lesson is season 2, only to regress into some two-dimensional "I want my boyfriend!" idiot in the season 3.
I think baltor was good he was one of those people just don't like but I think he was more of a character who people love to hate. Maybe a just like a bit of cockyness without being too big headed. My point from bleach like kenpachi hate byuchia
I know what you mean about diaspro
My favorite Villain is Diaspro.
My least favorite has to be Icy, I just think she's annoying for some reason.
I like Diaspro even though shes not a villain, but I picked Darcy, I just love her!
lol,I like Kimera the best!!only cuzz i find her funny for some reason..
I like baltor the most...
I like how they had Chimera and Diaspro as female rivalries, not necessarily their enemy for the season, but they were their rivals, that shows how teenage girls do have rivals all the time (a sad truth of life)
And Mitsy! She wasnt included in the poll however, but i think that if u could count Chimera and Diaspro as villains, u could count Mitsy too.
Oh yeah, Misty
Forgot all about her!
Abby yeah I agree with you, thats how teenage girls are these days...just fight over boys.
Strange.... I never had those things in my teen years..... None of my friends either..... must be a Dutch thing.
Lol I don't normally fight over boys either...
It seems like there is always drama surrounding me with girls, because of how catty everyone seems to be. I can't wait to graduate high school to get away from some of it. Mitsy is also another one I kinda like, just because she is another character from Earth, they don't have too many from Earth in the show.
Well, I might have a warped view on it since 90% of my friends are boys.
I don't have many friends anyways, since most of the boys I know are jerks and would rather hang out with the more popular girls.
Exactly. I have a lot of friends who are boys. They're always really sweet and friendly when they hang out with me, but then they start hang out with the "popular girls", and they turn into such jerks! This has happened to almost all the boys I am/was friends with.
Yeah, some guys I know are okay when they aren't around those types of girls, and when they are they are totally different.
I know in our school which only had a few girls as it was all boys until 6th form, there seemed to only be between the less mature boys that competed over girls but that was very little.
I vote for Diaspro. She is the only character who is evil for a reason. Imagine how she must have felt when sky rejected her no wonder she was always evil, she probably liked him.
PS I don't think sky and diaspro should be togather though
Yeah, well, I do kinda feel sorry for Diaspro. I mean, think about it. She's engaged to someone, then out of the blue she find's out that he's in love with someone else. Anyone would be upset. I think the whole Diaspro-Bloom thing was Sky's fault.
I never thought of it that way. Thats true, Diaspro has a reason to be mean. This is all Sky's fault!
Sky shouldn't have led her on...but then, I feel bad for him only because he probably didn't even believe in love for a few years of his life since he had no choice. He probably just dealt with the engagement, thinking this was duty and he couldn't think twice about it. And maybe he didn't realize how much he liked Bloom until it became closer to the Day of the Royals? Maybe he didn't...But, it would have reeeeeaaallly helped his situation out if he had at the least! told Bloom that he had to continue to cover for the engagement just a little bit longer, until he could find the nerve to break it to his parents that he was not willing to go through with marrying Diaspro. Yeah..I know, I've made fun of Sky a lot, but he's still human, lol.
Though in the RAI version I think she's more of a Gold Digger and just likes him because of his title. I don't like her much if that is correct. Otherwise I DO feel sorry for her.
Diaspro kinda was a gold-digger... But all the Winx characters have their pros and cons, right? And frankly I like how Straffi shaped Diaspro's character. I think it's come out even better than some of the main characters.
This isn't really villain related, but it does relate to people with bad qualities. I was watching the Rai version of "The Show Continues" (the episode with Musa's concert performance, "Magic in My Heart") and I noticed a scene with Brandon early on, about 4 1/2 minutes in. I really loved the 4kids version of Brandon, and thought he was a true sweet heart--romantic, a little corny, fully devoted, and still with his bit of arrogant pretty-boy persona that made him Brandon. But the Rai English version either took his arrogance and ran too far with it, or the original Italian dialogue was at fault. Either way, I was baffled when I saw Brandon with two girls (witches) hanging onto either side of him, and him practically asking for kisses from them. I know, people do act like this in real life, but the hopeless romantic in me just wanted to kick his butt so hard! I even went back to previous episodes to see if maybe there was a small fight between him and Stella that may have spurred this temporary flux in his devotion to her, but nope. He just randomly is shown trying to get more than just a flirt with two girls. Later in the episode when he is performing the fire dance with Sky he is thinking about a hot girl (the dressed up Stormy) who walked by him previously. Honestly not sure what the producers were trying to offer by doing that (other than to show he is human, blah), but it kind of ruins my opinion of Brandon the Hero. Now I latch onto the 4kids version, and I'm so glad they changed his personality so he wouldn't be the flirtatious jerk he apparently can be in the Rai English version. Even the comics, straight from Italy, show him being completely devoted to Stella (ex: Issue #24 Love Potion). Not to spoil it, but Brandon is shown (many times) trying to kindly tell an admirer that he doesn't want to hang out with a certain girl because he doesn't want to upset Stella. And he was very respectful about it =).
Arrgh, so disappointed in him. I just wanted to rant =P.
Wow, I'm glad 4kids changed that, and I totally agree, as a MAJOR Brandon fan, I am very disappointed with the RAI version's choice in making Brandon look bad =P
*sniff* Me too. I am just so sad to think he'd be such a player. Grrr, glad I watched the 4kids version first.
Yeah, same. (And Stormy looked ugly in fairy form, I cant believe he you-know-what)
LOL xD Yeah...was he desperate? No offense to the witch look, but Stormy incognito wasn't very attractive =P.
I know, seriously, like compare her to ANY Winx girl and you wont look twice...
Yep, and Mirta is 10x cuter by far!
I love 4kids version of Brandon compared the rai one then. I just watched the rai english version of "Witch Trap" in season one, and I like how in 4kids they have him say that he would take her on one, but they are under punishment, compared to the rai one where he is just like "I was working out and I just was too tired". I really disliked that part a lot. Even though in 4kids I get annoyed with the pet names and the cheeseyness, I would rather have that than the rai one.
I agree, I like to see the more heroic, less self-centered Brandon in the 4kids version. I'll take super cheesy nice boy any day =). I understand there can be some vanity, but in many ways Brandon's character in the Rai version is so much more intolerable than Riven's personality (at least, before Riven improves). (Overall, I was actually happy with the 4kids changes that were made to the episode with Musa's concert. 4kids made her struggle more heart-warming involving her past and how it was preventing her future, whereas the plot of the Rai version is mainly that her father doesn't approve of Riven--not that grand).
Wow, I hardly watched any RAI episodes, but now I know that 4kids actually made many good edits too ^_^ There is also the thing that 4kids episodes are slightly shorter than RAI ones, so it wasnt really their fault that they had to edit some scenes out.
That's true. I think our broadcasting stations require longer commercials or some other stupid rule about shortened episode lengths. I do still enjoy watching the Rai version, if only to see what I missed. But I'm beginning to appreciate some of the changes 4kids made, though others I can't figure out why they decided to change still.
Yeah, I like some of the edits, but HATE others, such as in the transformations, they'd change the music (bad change), shorten it big time (horrible), but edit out some reveals (good).
I'll have to go watch that episode, but I do kinda like how they somehow included the part about Riven in it and not just all about her future, yet that is very important, more than her boyfriend. But I still like how her father doesn't like her boyfriend, they never really show the other couples meeting the parents ever (except bloom and sky of course)
And Layla and Nabu.
Oh yeah, I forgot about them! But them too!
Stormy!
My fave villain is Diaspro. Just cuz she gets nice after a while in season 3.
Isn't season 3 the season she hypnotised Sky with the help of Valtor, behaved like a total Witch and got put on a bus.... I mean, banished? I'm sorry, but she's the least likeable in Season 3.
Lolz! P-Girl's using trope terms!
And yes. Nothing like disregarding all character development from the previous season and discarding all vaguely likeable traits to make someone hate a character for all the wrong reasons.
Diaspro was kinda nice in season 2, then she returned to normal in season 3
She was. My biggest problem is that, thanks to 4Kids, she's a very polarising character to talk about. I 'grew up' with witchy, attention-loving Gold-Digger Diaspro who saw Sky as nothing but a stepping stone to riches and fame.
4Kids changed it so she genuinly loved Sky.... and gained a fan following thanks to it. A fan following who is after my hide everytime I explain how she actually was...
Another instance of 4Kids sucking.
They have truly made a career of failing at failing. I genuinely am thankful they couldn't sink their claws into Pretty Cure and lost the license when TOEI realized how badly they'd ruin what made Pretty Cure such a success. Including, you know, the constant/subtle shipping between the two heroines. Because let's face it, the Seinen audience is one that may not buy much merchandise for shows like that, but they will make fanart.
And fanart helps with viral marketing, which leads to a bigger viewship, which leads to bigger profits.
My problem is that so many parts just seem so silly and unnecesary. Seriously, from Valtor to Baltor? The heck? And thanks for the 'Now his sign doesn't make any sense'-bonus. Really guys, 'preciate it.
The big problem is that in Battlestar Galactica, there's a guy called Baltar.
Yeah. Totally not going to mix those two up. Ever.
Baltor always reminds me of Balor, an Evil Giant King from Irish mythology with a killing eye. (And one of Zasalamel's scythes)
I think there was a Balore in Castlevania too. Big giant eye, if I recall correctly. Kinda easy to kill.
oh, its Valtor. like his "gentleman" villian style. than comes icy, her powers are awesome, and hair too, by the way^^
Valtor all the way
*sniffs* I still like Darcy, but I wish she would get some ambition to truly become the bad*** I know she can be.
I said in my season two wrap-up article (see link below) that a good fairy gone bad is more scary than an always bad witch. Dark Bloom was unnerving. We knew how powerful Bloom could be - and that power turned to evil... Also we knew her friends would have trouble cutting loose on her.
It is a classic device precisely because it works. How many formerly good "fill-in-the-blanks" can you think of right off the top of your head?
In the comic world a green lantern goes bad and becomes Sinestro.
In the old Six Million Dollar Man show the hero eventually come up against the "Seven Million Dollar Man" who also had bionic parts but began to go bad.
Another ancient show called Voyagers featured a time traveling group that kept history on track at key moments. Eventually, one of their order went bad and it was a strange new type of enemy. A bad guy causing trouble throughout time.
I am sure you can think of a number yourself.
PS- Do not confuse this enemy type with the totally different but similar looking "evil twin" plot device.
You have a good point there. And altough it sometimes feels like the 'Obligatory' choice, these kind of villains are always my favorite. (Go Bad Chan!)
*nod* Myself, I am reminded of Kerrigan from Starcraft. (Unless I just lost everyone there...) But she was the wholesome hero gone corrupt. It was horrible, but that made it all the more epic.
[noguests]I cant remember who I voted for, but if I were to now, I'd have a tough time picking between Darkar, Baltor, and Darcy or Icy. Lol pretty much all of the main villains xD [/noguests]
(Why yes I did, cheat codes and all xD. I mean...since I couldn't mash buttons, it was the next best thing. As for the Brood War v_v...I can't even talk about that it was so sad. *cries pitifully*)
But to show that I'm not completely disregarding the topic, I agree that Dark Bloom was pretty kick-*ahem*. Thinking back to the episode makes me wonder about the fleeting incident of All-in-one Trix...with the funny/slightly cute pigtails. I *sorta* wanted to see more of them merged.
Or at least explain why it dissapeared without reason.
(Whoa, nice new (or slightly new) avatars to both Fortress and P-girl ^^)
Yeah...that was a nice plot device, and could have had more substance.
They could have combined again later, but noooo, had to instead make the rather awkward-looking "Disenchantix", which come to think of it was just as fleeting as the Merged Trix. Come on now, it seems like these power upgrades are just for laughs sometimes. The Trix haven't stood a chance for a whole season now. And silly villains can't be taken seriously.
(Except in the case of Dr. Horrible, who remains both silly and villainous. Lost everyone again...)
Same here, and the same reason I'd rather not see them.... I'm so afraid they'd just look silly.....
disenchantix had one major weakness fairy dust could remove it and the winx tried and we were not told if it was distroyed i know they ran but we don't know if there was any effect (correct me if i am wrong)
Thickening? O_O Perhaps you should turn the heat on a smidgen so you're not frozen for all of time...in that lonely fortress. v_v But you're welcome =).
As to the slinky factor...yes, I'd have to agree. It seems to be a continuing theme in many shows, less clothing coverage on someone the more powerful they become...supposedly. Or, that's what I've noticed over my years of inexperience.
Don't no they are all bad!XD

i know some people do it for protection or to avoid being bullied
Icy!!!!!!!! she's the best and always WILL be the best!!
i SO hated Darkar, he was SO lame!!! he used Icy, made she and her friends fight, turned Bloom evil and made all her friends hate him, almost killed Riven by trying to kill Musa....did i mention he used Icy to get to Bloom?!! wow, i hated him!! plus he was so creepy! he was like a red skeleton...freaky!!
Whoa talk about a bomb shell! Next time though, tell us how you really feel .
Lolz, I get what you're saying though. Darkar was probably my least favorite villain (okay, I hated him). Well, anyone who has watched the 4kids dub knows why he is exceedingly lame...the dialogue, the voice actor. *stops rant before it starts* And I never really figured out why he had the phoenix theme since technically he was all about darkness and phoenix's are pretty neutral or "good" as far as I've read up on my mythology. I thought vampire would have been more appropriate for him since he liked dark energy so much. Eh, oh well.
Yes, that one was hilarious xD. Localization at its best.
Pardon my language, but Darkar got screwed over by 4Kids. True, he's not my favorite villain, even in Rai, but at least there they gave him some menace to him. (Especially his voice. His Dutch voice was scary, especially when he was talking in a calm way.)
[noguests]I never knew so many people hated on Darkar, I've only seen the 4kids version and I actually like him alot! Him and Baltor are tied, I cant decide who i like better between them. I like Darkar's appearance alot, its pretty original as far as I've seen. But I agree about the phoenix thing, that wasnt necessary.[/noguests]
Valtor is the best, Darkar comes close though.
Valtor is the best, which actually mean he's the worst. I'm watching Season 3 today and I feel so nervous. I hate Valtor, he's the meanest. Darkar's a little innocent bird in comparison to Valtor.
Bloom
Bloom's a villain?
i think she meant dark bloom
Oh yeah.....
Most probaly.
i like icy and diaspro
i don't think she's a villian though - she didn't do anything wrong till bloom took sky!!!
well for me its out of Darcy and Diaspro I think they are both pretty lol I wonder wat would happen if Diaspro teamed up with Icy, Darcy and Stormy how cool would that be
i think diasro would cause too much friction and also the trix don't want anyone joining there group
[noguests]In season 3 Baltor suggested Diaspro joining, and the trix were disgusted. [/noguests]
My fave villains are Kimera and Icy
Um, I like Darcy and the rest of the Trix. Mainly because they're just as hot as the Winx Club. And mainly because they're well wicked!
i'm a darcy fan although i like Kimera and Valtor :3
