Posted by: humbu111 Nov 22 2009, 11:10 PM

For some reason I cant download certain things, and msn is one of them. Its been like this for a while and ebuddy is really starting to annoy me, so I decided to take drastic measures. I was wondering if anyone could help me? I have screens to show exactly what happens.

So first I go to http://download.live.com/?sku=messenger and click Download. This is what comes up:

I click Save Now and after it downloads, this is what I get:

I press OK and this is what I get:

And thats where this sad tale of woe ends. I have no clue what any of that means and everytime I try to launch what I download, the box from the third screen comes up T.T Can anyone help?

I'm not exactly what you'd call a Windows expert. In fact, I honestly know nothing about them. But Macs and PCs can't be THAT different right?

'Cause the same thing happened to me, well sort of. All I did was change where I download it to. But, I think that's exactly what Wkw said. Hm...call Tech Support. XD

Well I'm getting my Mac tomorrow, so I'll have to install MSN. Perhaps I'll become completely enlightened in the art of downloading MSN. We'll see how it goes.

But yeah, I'd call Tech Support. When my computer wouldn't even start (Yeah, it's had alot of problems, I know), up they basically fixed it by telling us what to do.

And install it.

Thanx Admin, but when I tried downloading it I got this popup box:

This was when I downloaded and clicked to install the last one since I have Windows XP. I also tried the fourth one after getting the error message, but the file type wasnt recognized so it couldnt open. Do you know where I could get a type that works? Please and thankyou ^^

Try this instead:

By the way, if you get that error for real, you better check for Windows updates now...

Okay, I downloaded that and that problem seems to be fixed (: But now I get a different error message (N)

I tried googling it http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=TFB&q=%22This+application+has+failed+to+start+because+WINHTTP.dll+was+not+found.+Re-installing+the+application+may+fix+this+problem.%22&btnG=Search&meta=&cts=1259287217477&aq=f&oq=, but I'm scared I might download something harmful cause I really dont know alot about this kind of stuff. Help, please?
