OK so me and AnnieBelle have decided to have or very on MAGIX CLUB...IDOL!!!
So please participate and if you don't have a great singing voice, well guess what, neither do I. So if you're wondering how this works is well first you use ur microphone to sing by searching the kareoke of the song off the internet (like youtube), then you put it on windows movie maker, then just upload and post it up. If you don't have a microphone you can be judge. We need at least 6 contestents and 2-4 judges.

I've come by request =). I actually wouldn't mind singing...but *thankfully* I don't have a microphone and I'm still too shy to sing in public =P. So, looks like judge for me I suppose.

Prizemaker is supposed to make a graphic as a prize to the 2 winners at the end and judge has to give points and tell what you need to do next. Kinda like an American Idol

i might've sang but its too complicated for me to post it, and i do have a mic (Zhanneel, its only from the dollar store, they're pretty easy to get)

yes dittadulla and humbu111 you can first click the start menu and accesories to find sound recorder. Next go on windows movie maker and import it there, lastly save it and post it up free without having to sign up on tinypic.com!

Off course I never doubted you'd be contestest!
Well youtube has many kareokes and there's a site for kareokes that I'll post up but meanwhile if you can't find ur kareoke of the song on youtube there's no need you can sing along as long as we have the music. So if it does NOT have a kareoke like the song I'm gonna do it's fine. Neither does mine. But I'm right now gonna sing and post up the theme song, that's if that's k with all of ya.

I'm entering as a contestant, if I don't pass the first round, is it possible I be a judge? I have a question how long must the song be? and is it only limited to songs off the winx show or movie or everything?
We actually did this a while ago on Winx Dreams, you can still listen to older entries.

YEAH THAT'S A GREAT IDEA! But instead of for 1st round let's have it for the auditions which will be held from today till the 18th, k. Also if you lose the first round, which I hope is not gonna be me (but it cud be, hoo nos) can be like an announcer and can still vote. I think 4 judges are enuff.

I figure, I might be more at ease singing when no one is watching though, (sure, they'll listen, but they can't see the person with the horrible singing voice) he he.

I am still pending too =P. Though I still don't even have a microphone. I do have a webcam coming in the mail in a day or two that supposedly has a microphone on it (I didn't plan that either =P) so I may record myself and if I'm too humiliated by how it sounds I'll just pitch it. The only way I'm putting anything up is if I'm really satisfied with it =P. I have a feeling I won't like how it sounds, lol.

I just recorded a song now, for practice. It came out really well, and I wanted to use of in the first round. However, it's not the Winx theme, it's A Thousand Miles, by Vanessa Carlton. Can I use it in the first round, or not?

Fa if you're having trouble with time I don't mind you having it 1 day overdue. i'm trying to upload the one i did yesterday again and it looks like my voice has come back (thank goodness i remember loseing my voice last year it sucked i could barely talk for a month) but i now have a very sore throat but hopefully i should be able to sing again in a few days ^_^

I don't want to seem like a control freak nor a perfectionist however I have some suggestions. All entries be posted anonymously or rather be sent by personal message to the judges themselves so there isn't any favouristism. Second of all, the forums have a poll option permitting anyone to vote.
As for recording, some computers don't need a microphone to record, like on PCs we have sound recorder. I myself am using my MP3 player's recording option, it's not high quality but it will do. ^^
I think the whole thing being anonymous won't be as embarassing and nerve wracking, however maybe that should only apply for the first round so at the end of the competition no one can claim to be someone else. ^^
The judges can weed through all the first round entries and see who is fit to enter.
At the end, maybe we can make a video with the announcers and judges talking. Anyways that is my imput and opinions, so right now I'm awaiting a response.

I agree with Daphne on being posted anonymously. That is a really good idea; plus people might feel more inclined to participate that way.
I know I personally would be much more comfortable with that versus having everyone know it is me.

UMM THEre r some problems with that..july 21 is my birthday so i most likely wont be on..and with the voting i think that people should vote on the thread...so that everybody can see...and people should post their entries on the thread also...just like on american idol...people had to face their fears and audition on the spot and in front of other...the same rule should apply here

I'll explain a little more precise this time. Our forums have an option to add an anonymous poll onto a board therefore people can vote.
What Ii suggest is creating a new poll for each week and close it once the week is over. So that means there's a new round every week. Entries should be sent anonymously because some people might be shy or embarrassed and would rather have one person tell them "No" than an entire forum of people flaming and insulting them
People shouldn't post their votes and ratings here as friendships might be ruined in the process.

i think, to avoid confusion and to many pm's that we should post all entries on the thread....american idol isnt anonymous...and if people are afraid of what other people thing than they shouldnt join...i dont mean to sound harsh...but that is the nature of the business...if ur entering the contest everybody is bound to hear you the the hole anonymous thing...needs to be scrapped.
with the voting i think
1.the contestants post their entries
2.the judges give their critisim
3.the people of magix decide who should be eliminated
or 3.a. the judges give them a score and they are eliminated that way....honestly this is taking to long to discuss...

True, however some people would rather have an opinion first before posting an entry and being clowned. The whole PM thing at first is like re-assurance. When the contestants PM the judges, who in turn make their decision at least no one will be trashed that way. However Anniebelle and Adbu will be making the decisions and how everything will go like.
American Idol is anonymous, the judges merely give their opinion which helps the votes decide. However we are giving more power to the judges in Magix Idol, like some people may make additional accounts to vote for themselves so the judges will decide who will be eliminated.
I think we're discussing it alot because we wouldn't want anyone getting confused nor frustrated to find out what's happening

It is taking way to long to discuss, personally I don't like the way American idol is done, it is all a popularity contest. I personally think there should be no voting and the judges should decide who goes on to the next round and moves on throughout the competition. That way no one gets through because they aren't known on the threads, they get through because they have talent.

Well personally I already have to much stress on my mind cuz my birthday's today and I still have NOTHING ready for my party with 11 guests coming so I can only say 2 things right now. 1. my stance has not changed yet
On voting heres another option (yes I know its similar to one already mentioned): the judges vote giving there best two and worst two, also commenting on any that wish too. Then the worst can be eliminate, or the judges can say there worst and the eliminate it that way untill we have an overall majority aggreement or the people on this forum can vote to save there favourite.

I've recorded a few trials and I think I'm going to stick to being a judge =P. Just can't be satisfied with how my voice comes out in the recorder. But again, great performances everyone!

I don't know, I just have a microphone and use the narration tool in windows movie maker to record my voice. I don't think the microphone was all that expensive either.

this is just my opinion of how judging should work...
the person with the most votes is safe and can continue on til the next round...
then the judges should eliminate 1 of the contestants from the 2 people with the least amout of votes.

Sorry I'm not too active here. I've had a busy weekend and it seems to only be getting busier tomorrow and tuesday. I'll try to listen to everyone's tryouts tomorrow, but can't promise anything. I'm doing water quality with a group of fieldworkers tomorrow around the city and it's going to be a hot, long day and tuesday I'm back to work (which is basically becoming full time instead of part time).
I would be most grateful if maybe someone was able to put all of the tryout links (with the corresponding names of the person) into one post? That way I could listen to them right after one another and not have to hunt them down. If no one has time to do that don't worry, I can manage. Thanks anyway!

Looks like you don't need me anymore. Just to clear things up if two people tie for the most votes they both go to jail (get illuminated) and if 3 tie than they all have to sing again and the judges get to decide 1 person out of the 3 that can stay the other 2 go to jail. If the someone out of those 2 is a wonderful performer the judges PM each other and give out a white card entry. Just PM me for information. Meanwhile enjoy our singing
