Well I am supporting england, oviously I want them to win but know its england they will get to the quarter finals and lose on penalties

Considering the fact that the World Cup is being held at South Africa, I'm really hoping that Italy could make it to the semi-finals! Since the semi-finals are being held in my city's stadium *shot* and I live just a few kilometres from the stadium X3

But generally, I'm not a soccer fan.

Yep fact of life england goal keepers are prone to errors and england over rated. Shame other than the Germans there have been very few goals dispite a few one sided matches

I'm bummed that Italy couldn't be in Group D - Then they would have played here! XD I think each team has three chances ~ I know for sure that SA does. Our last game is with France I think. We played against Mexico, Uruguay (GRRR!) and then we are playing against France.

Yes though South Africa have a very thin chance, they need to beat France heavily and/or have uruguay or Mexico lost lose heavily. As a draw will guarante they are out

For anyone interested who's not sure how it works/is too lazy to figure it out:
There's one match left for each team in its division.
As long as Italy beats Slovakia they'll advance.
If they lose they dont advance.
If they tie, its up to the other match:
If Paraguay wins, they advance.
If Paraguay and New Zealand tie, I think it depends on who has scored more goals between Italy and New Zealand, that country will advance with Paraguay.
If New Zealand wins, Italy does not advance.

So if all the teams were equal, Italy would have a 50:50 chance. But Italy is NOT equal, they are better than the rest so they will probably advance ^^

The problem is the manager never inspired confidence with the squad and evidently they sent Anelka home for an argument and no complaint was ever raised but they should have tried harder

Thank goodness england came through there group, now it looks like it could be Germany if they top the group

yeah i didnt see the game but it seems Germany is a strong team this year. And spain won, i really wasnt rooting for spain this year shame i liked Paraguay.

And um wow next up is Uruguay vs. Netherlands
sometimes i wonder how Uruguay does it, i mean they've had alot of luck i think. and they have a great goalie.

Yeah I totally wasnt expecting Uruguay or Netherlands to make it lol. So random xD But i'm not complaining, I've been cheering for Netherlands ever since Italy got kicked out (second would be Denmark but they got kicked out at the same time lol). Hmm you guys wanna all make our predictions/guesses? Or who you want to win, however you want to do it. I say its gonna be:

Netherlands beats Uruguay,
Spain beats Germany,

Yeah, it's acutally amazing. The game against England a while back... Just WOW. My dad was laughing his socks off at the continueos goals they scored. I felt sorry for England...

I'm betting Germany and the Netherlands will make it do the finals.

Germany and Spain are playing in my city on Wednesday... I expect madness as usual. It's going to be a big game 0.0

i thought yeah itll be germany vs. netherlands but i dont know maybe its because i love them or maybe its because they seem to be incredibly lucky.. i think uruguay might be up there somewere. but you never know because i mean we did see some weird things this year..

hmm i respect that they won but i was not happy how they did it. that second goal was notdeserved. at least Uruguay played a fair and good game and without one of their best players also. their goalie is so cute too c:

I think Spain will win the world cup now but what did surprise me was how defensive Spain were in the end. They seemed scared to put people in the box, for most of the first half there was only Villa in the box. Spain seemed to be hoping to get a goal from a set piece (which they did) or trying to get to penalties or push in extra time with fresh legs by bring on there subs later (Germany very rarely if ever lose on penalties, so that would be a bad idea). I though Germany was on top until Spain scored it certainly wasn't the game people were billing it to be.

See, nothing personal or fan related stuff of any kind, I just think that the game quality was lame, this was actually the worst World cup final i've ever seen... and yeah you can say that Netherlands play even worst... but actually the whole game was lame... Netherlands come with a game out of ideas, Spain come with a "Sissy Play" and the Referee work was a disaster...
I say that before, 'cuz was thinking that Netherlands was in a superior level (they hace more than a year without lose a single game) and Spain haven't show anything really good in the WC games... but it end up both teams show like they lacking of what it should take to call themselves World Champion ...in my opinion... The whole performance of this Cup was lower than the other i've seen

and man netherlands played a dirty dirty game. they didnt deserve it after that game. i mean Come on! kicking that guy in the stomich with his soccer boots? that was red card material. There were all up 15 Yellow cards to netherlands.
so just for that. GO SPAIN.

also congrats Diego Forlan (striker for uruguay) on the Fifa Best Player award. you deserved it <3

@deadinside I disagree it was very much pass and move and while Netherlands may have played better, Spain were the best of the two in the final while Netherlands were terrible and tried to play the final in the wrong way. The referee did get a few wrong decisions Robben should have gone along with Dejong and Van Bommel. He did have a hard job if Netherlands had of lost men it would have most probably mean the Netherlands would have been distroyed. He tried to keep the spectacle going too much so though

Also to stop Germany scoring is not an easy task

I disagree I think Spain played the dirty game. They dived sooo much it wasnt even funny, a couple of times even without a replay you could tell that they were hardly even touched. Even Villa who's supposed to be a really honourable player seemed to dive once... well he was touched, but he seemed to be over reacting to me. And that clown dude holding back the Dutch guy with his arms when it was just him and the goalie, that was red card material IMO. The ref failed and it seemed like Spain was being favoured, but thats just my opinion lol. Like I know Netherlands dived a couple of times too, but I dont think it was nearly as much or as illegit as Spain's dives.

Puyol was the clown dude maybe it should have been but I think Cassilas had it covered, I don't think there was much Inesta/Xavi (i forget which one) made the most of the foul for the second yellow card

Spain where no where near as dirty as Holland who spent most of the first half fouling Spain

It seemed that way cause of the Spain diving, how I see it. Like that Dutch dude who got the red card, from what I saw he hardly touched the Spain guy if at all, but the Spanish guy was rolling on the ground and the Dutch guy had to leave the game.

Yeah, if we start talking about dirty game its not a one side thing, the Spain Sissy play of Diving and looking for get a foul instead of go for the play was very annoying, and yeah, both teams should get red cards, (don't forget that spain guy that hit that man out of the play in a not ball related scenario, that's should be direct a red card), but we can go on and on both ways, the WHOLE GAME WAS LAME, thats what i say, if Holland play worst than spain... yeah, i should guess...

And looking back in the Cup I think Holland has better games than Spain...

no im with marty. spain was no were near as dirty as netherlands. i agree though the game for third plce was much better!!
whilst i think there were a few penalties against germany that should have been charged that didnt i think it was a good game. But um... go uruguay. boo germany o.o
