I'll go for Ghost in the Shell, both movie-Series and Manga-verse fascinate me to no end, and is probably the reason I'm so much into Sci-Fi in the first place.

Well, considering I've only really watched like four or five or six animes or so (Only finishing one of them), I would have to say Spice and Wolf. And comedy-wise; Axis Powers Hetalia.

Let's see...Hmmmm... I don't have a FAVORITE so I'll just name some from each generation. I'm old school...
I've seen a lot more, but those are the ones that I really enjoyed. I know famous ones like Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell are missing, but they don't rank among my favorites

Urusei Yatsura
Ranma 1/2
Mermaid Scar
Ancient Book of Ys
Bio Booster Armor Guyver (The old one, not the one that came out in 2005)
Record of Lodoss War
Oh! My Goddess! (as well as) Ah! My Goddess!
Robotech
Macross (Any of them - but especially Macross 7 and Macross Frontier)
Gundam (mainly 'Wing' '08th MS Team' and 'G-gundam')
Tenchi Muyo!
Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X
Yu Yu Hakusho
Trigun
Soul Taker
Fate/Stay Night (Not as good as the Visual Novel - but I can't wait for the movie coming out.)
Karin (Chibi Vampire)
Gurren Lagann
Soul Eater
Demonbane (H.P. Lovecraftian lore rocks)
Busou Renkin (It was pretty good)
Spice and Wolf
Bakemonogatari (Translated it means Mon -st-ory or Gho -st-orty)
Kara no Kyoukai (Garden of Sinners)
EF (A tale of melodies and a tale of memories)
Clannad (This one will make you cry)
Umineko No Naku Koro Ni (Not as good as the Sound Novel though)
Dance in the Vampire Bund (Not as good as the manga though!)

I also like some movies like Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service, Chinese Ghost Story, and Princess Mononoke

Ah, I also forgot "Le Portrait de Petite Cossette"

That's a good one.
I'm not really an anime freak or anything, I've just been watching it since I was little. Like I said, I'm old school. I remember, back in the day, when they actually hand drew everything.

Also, my favorite manga is "Samurai Deeper Kyo" (It's a horrible anime though)
I also love "Dance in the Vampire Bund"
and "To Love Ru"
"B*stard!!" is also really good. (Not for kids though)

Its hard to have just one because of the genres... On the first row i'll go for:

"Hokuto No Ken" Fist of North Star (original 1986 series, haven't seen the Shin-Hokuto No Ken yet)

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Nice adaption/variation... better since the movie Fail... compared with the manga IMO

BubbleGum Crissis - Megatokyo 2032: "The story of the Knight Sabers" (original 1986 series, the 90s Remake was lame, awefull and pitiful) Probably not "the best" i've ever seen but it really blow my mind back then also as a fan of BladeRunner (1982 Sci-fi Masterpiece movie) it really got me... sadly the show was never finish because of legal and money troubles between AIC and Artmic i think...
I guess this is maybe my all time favorite.. for many reasons.

GallForce - Another 1980's Sci-fi Epic anime Story.... actually the new BattleStarGalactica took some ideas from here i think...

After that, non my really really favorite but i like a lot:
The Gunsmith Cats OVAs
Armitage III series
Blue Gender
Full Metal Alchemist
Shadow skill
Slayers
Futari Wa Pretty Cure (first seasons only, after the change of the main characters i ran away)
3x3 Eyes
Gundam W
Ruroni Kenshin

...And many more but don't remember now

Vocaloid is not an anime, dear. It's a voice synchonizing-- ... Yeah no there is a topic for that actually.

It's because that's much more appealing than just voices without a face or personality. This encourages users to compose songs more fitting to each character at times and a matching illustration~ ithink.

Meh.... to each his own, I guess. Heck, I play around with anthropomorphic represantations of concepts like Chaos and Order.
