*Priestesses Of Las Gias, A Magic Girl-slant on a SRW concept Options

Las Gias, Banpresto's fantasy world... of sorts... from my beloved SRW. Located somewhere in the subterreanian Earth, it is a civilization that has grown to integrate technology and mysticism, resulting in... well, a place you're just as likely to see magical talking animals as you are to see giant robots.

Anyways, got the idea to start an RP which, as said before, gives it a Magic Girl twist.

The story I'm planning: the Imperium of Las Gias organizes worship of four goddesses: Cyfas, goddess of Wind and Courage; Gadd, goddess of Water and Humility; Granva, goddess of Fire and Discipline; and Zamzu, goddess of Earth and Temperance. Each generation, women of any age can undertake the trial to be one of the goddess's Priestess's, their avatar in Las Gias who is entrusted to defend the Empire from any threats from inside its borders or outside. Those who best exemplify the mental trait each goddess represents becomes the Priestesses. After the selection has been made, even if a more eligible candidate makes themselves known, the title of Priestess cannot be revoked by any power, not even the goddesses. A Priestess holds the title until their death or willingly giving it up. However, there is nothing preventing a former Priestess to become one again. One can also not be the Priestess of more than one goddess at a time... no god modding here. ^_^

Travel between Las Gias and the surface world is not that common, but it is possible through various pathways and portals. Diplomatic relations between larger world governments on the surface and the Imperium are in place as well.

However, not all is well. There are dark forces in Las Gias, chiefly the cults worshipping Ranzon, goddess of Darkness and Ambition. And it falls on the Priestesses, as well as the Imperial Guard, to defend their homeland... as well as the world at large.

It sounds interesting, but it doesn't seem like there is any room for male rolls to come in. I don't want to bring in Ranma Hikage. I want other people to have a chance in this thing. I could make a new character, but I'm trying to find out how he could fit into this story line and still excel. I refuse (Unless I'm in the mood, because sometimes I do make characters to be like this) to make a cannon fodder red fountain specialist character.

Well, would've done this much earlier, but I couldn't get on the forum in the morning. Of course, if the campus used Mozilla Firefox, there wouldn't have been any problem. Grgh...

Anyways...

Name: Self Explanatory.
Age: Again, self explanatory. If someone is playing as a Priestess, remember that title is given to the most eligible candidate; age doesn't matter, so if anyone wants to mix it up by having someone in their 30s, 40s, or older, more power to you.
Appearance: You can describe and/or post an image. If you do post an image, however, at least admit where you're getting it from.
Position in the story: A big one. I didn't want just the 4 Priestesses, and also wanted some places for anyone interested in playing as a male. Las Gias is a big place, and obviously the Priestesses won't be handling everything. There's the Imperial Guard, concerned citizens, surface dwellers (I imagine the Imperium existing alongside present-day Earth), etc. Even retired Priestesses are an option. Anyone wants to play as a villain or a Priestess for a lesser goddess not part of the big 4, PM me and we can work out the details. The status as Priestesses is first-come, first-serve.
Personality: Just quickly go over the mood of your character. Keep in mind Priestesses, or at least ones new to the position, are meant to be the embodiement of one of the four virtues. More experienced
Abilities: What the character's big skills are, at least in regards to combat. The Priestesses will obviously have magic pertaining to their element, but others can have more generic, basic powers as well.
Bio: A quick background about your character. If someone beat you to the punch with becoming a priestess, then feel free to add your character's frustration about not being picked into the background too.

Name: Lune Zoldalk
Age: 27
Appearance: Based physically off of an older rendition of the SRW character of nearly the same name... http://srwog.velv.net/char_images/ryune.png. Appearance when in battle gear is based off her robot... just without the headpiece and pink hair. http://srwog.velv.net/mecha_images/valsioner.png
Position in the story: Captain of one of the branches of the Imperial Guard. Specifically, in charge of the group that's sent out for processions and ceremonies, one of the lowest ranking branches.
Personality: Lune is... very, very lazy with her job. This is mainly because genuinely hates it and wants to get transferred to a more prestigous branch. This's caused her to be rather bitter about it and any raw recruits getting good starting positions. In spite of that, she treats the overall duty of being a captain of the Guard as very important and is constantly training and trying to get better. She also ironically has a healthy relationship with her subordinates, all of them sharing the aspiration to do more than just march in parades and such.
Abilities: Lune practices swordsmanship nearly every day, always trying to improve her form. Her armor also can produce the traditional generic blasts of energy. She also carries a handgun, but rarely uses it.
Bio: Ten years prior, when Lune was entering the acadamy for the Guard, she struggled with various classes in it. She did eventually pass, and with flying colors in regards to organizing lower-ranking officers. Hence, she was given a figurehead position, in charge of a group that was meant to simply be present for public ceremonies so that the actual soldiers could worry about keeping the peace. Needless to say, Lune does not like her position at all, and aspire to be transferred. But since her position does not involve combat experience, she is not in a position to argue for a transfer.

Name: Edgar
Age: 23
Appearance: (Picture made with SC4, based of Eagle from Advance Wars)
Position in the story: A soldier in Lune's branch of the Imperial Guard (If that's alright)
Personality: Overconfident and spirited, at first he was dissapointed in the position he was granted. But, he reckoned, it would be better to do it the best he can and hope for promotion, then flaunt it and get removed altogether.
Abilities: Edgar is skilled with both a lance and sword, his fighting style is ferocious and quick, but lousy at defence, as he tossed aside most of his armor in favor of speed.
Bio: Coming from a simple farming community, Edgar always had dreams of granduer, however, those dreams shattered when his reckless behaviour were deemed a weakness by Academy, who made sure he wouldn't be transferred in actual combat, despite the raw talent he showed. Edgar didn't like their decision, and is trying very hard to prove them wrong.

Ah, you mean the Priestess of Cyfus?

Well, the Priestess of Cyfus is the most courageous of the four, the most willing to go out there and defend Las Gias. I'd advise if you would play as her Priestess as someone newly appointed, she would be very young and noble. If you'd have her be older, perhaps a little more restrained and worldly, possibly even disillusioned.

The Priestess's big abilities would obviously be wind-based, I can't really set too many guidelines because I want this to be enjoyable for everyone. But think about how the wind works and be creative with what the Priestess can do with it.

The appearance, background, those are all things you should decide for yourself. Think about what a courageous person would look like maybe, or some character you know of in fiction that you think would fit the bill appearance wise, and go with that.

I want to be the Priestess of Granva, but I'm a little confused about what to write. Can you please give me a little information, like you gave Terry?

@Marty You're in.

@Jahnavi No problem.

The Priestess of Granva is chosen because they are the most disciplined, meaning they'd probably be the most serious and level-headed of the four. Similarly to Cyfus's Priestess, if Granva's was just starting out, they'd probably be no-nonsense and very focused on their duties. If they were older, you could take this in one of two ways probably, where they've learned a bit and have loosened up while staying cool and collected, or they could be complete jerks that don't know how to "switch off."

As for their fire-related powers, like with the wind, it's pretty much what you think would be unique and work. I'd think it might be nice to see someone have the up-til-now ignored habit that the fires stem from heat manipulation, meaning that you create the flames by removing the heat from nearby objects, but if that's too confusing just work with what you know.

@Stella/Ditta No problem.

Gadd's Priestess is chosen because of her Humility. While the Priestess of Cyfus may be too reckless and the Priestess of Granva may be too serious, Gadd's is one that is capable of admitting she's wrong. The ability to recognize mistakes and learn from them is similar to that of water, it flows and is dynamic. The downside to this is that Gadd's Priestess may become too worried about seeing flaws in herself when nobody else notices them. Again, if you decide to play as an older and more seasoned Priestess, you could use this "Haunted by mistakes" angle, or instead have someone who is emotionally healthy, helping people out and being humble while still having a strong sense of self.

Zamzu, as I mentioned earlier, is the goddess of Earth and Temperance. Her Priestess is meant to be the epitome of Temperance, or moderation. Rather than be courageous or by the books or humble, Zamzu's Priestess is meant to be someone that's fun to be around. They could be very energetic and in love with life, yet at the same time know when to draw the line. However, since they're sorta the middle of the road, an older and disillusioned priestess may end up drifiting in one direction and never come back, like someone who can never calm down and be serious or (in contrast) be too afraid to loosen up and have fun.

Ok. heres my characters profile.

Name: Oralee
Age: 26
Appearance: Dark brown hair that almost appears black. it is shoulder length and wavy, but is straightened sometimes. pale skin, but isn't ghostly, but contrast hair. strong and fit. with a tall firm build. wears a lot of light blues and silver. mostly solid colors and always long pants.
Position in the story: a retired priestess of Cyfus. although she is still young, she wanted to move on to try something else.
Personality: strong willed and not easily swayed in combat, though changes passions often otherwise. courageous which is why she was chosen as priestess to Cyfus. she will step in and fight for her purpose and will not step down untill she is satisfied.
Ability: Oralee uses a katana that can control the air around her. she found the sword when she was younger, but was too young to remember exactly where. the also has some ability over moisture in the air, affecting temperature.
Bio: She grew up in a stable semi wealthy family. has had no problems. as she grew up she was determined to be a priestess, which encouraged her to train. after 5 years as a young priestess of cyfus she retired inorder to further study the criminal side of society. she is by no means a criminal or bad guy, she is just facinated in the phycology of it, so she now free lances in research for various people.

Appearance: long blonde hair, tied up in a ponytail reaching down to hips. Tall and skinny. Blue eyes, almost white skin. Outfits are often blue, purple or red.
Position in the story: Priestess of Zamzu, goddess of earth and temperance.
Personality: Really energetic and joyful. she often has solutions to problems and never lets ideas she gets die, if she decises something, she will do everything to fill it. although she is the girl everybody loves to be around she knows where to draw the line. in serious situations, she is serious and plays a big role to make things work. in light situations, she is the middle of attention and oviously in love with life.
Abilities: she is the earth goddess, can make earthqakes, make plants grow at the place and such. she can also move things with her mind. she can also fall into nature, becoming invinsible but only among trees, plants and sand, that is not among dry surface and such.
Bio: Isabel was chosen the priestess of Zamzu at the age of 18. she always looked up to the priestesses of Zamzu. she was chosen after being watched for a month. when Isabel heard about being watched for an possibilty to be a priestess, she beginned to read everything she could about the four priestessess and increased everything needed to be the priestess of Zamzu. she finally made it but with nearly a tie against another girl.

Well, yeah it was rushed a bit, and I think you'll have to change that "old priestess dying" bit if anyone wants to be one for Zamzu, but it looks okay. Just wondering, what are the "rules" with the invincibility thing?
