Well, I noticed this some time ago but Bloom is always a leader, already 2 new members joined Winx etc. I was thinking that maybe all the Winx characters could be equal, and maybe stick to the same members for some time. What do you think? No offense but this is my point of view

Lol, we've all noticed this. But Bloom's Straffi's favorite, so the best we can do is appreciate that the other characters do get their moments too~

Well, I'm one for a group having a leader, personally. But I also think Bloom's not the best choice for that. Tecna would be better suited.

... Or is this on the issue of Bloom's screen-time?

If so, yeah, that's not going to change, but in Season 4, there's more balance since it's not about her past and Domino and whatnot, and Roxy doesn't seem to step up to the plate all THAT much. Most episodes feel more like things being done as a group, and most girls get a sub-plot, with the exception of Flora and Tecna (You get used to it after a while).
It's not perfect, but hey, it's progress.

Well, I guess that Iginio Straffi decided that. It's just that some times (in Season 2) the scene follows Bloom.

i totally agree with the not adding new members part.
but i guess they're running out of story lines for the existing members

When I started watching H2O: Just Add Water I immediately started trying to pick out a "Bloom", meaning a leader of the group. First I thougt it'd be Cleo, but then I thought it'd be Rikki, then I thought no it must be Emma! But after episode 8 I kinda figured the girls had equal attention. So my point is Straffi could've equally focused on 7, but clearly he wanted to focus on Bloom.

I completely agree with you 100% (and agree with everything you have said in this thread thus far).


That is always something that bothered me about the show, and bothered me further when more characters were added. It seemed hopes for development of arguably undeveloped characters (ie., Flora and Tecna; and even some of the specialists) was being drastically reduced (pardon my redundancies). At this point, though, like you said, its gotten to be where the viewer has almost gotten used to the fact that it probably will always be that way - nothing can be done about it.

Now, if I was writing for the show, it would be much different.

In the Series we never seen Tecna's Family/Home. But, in the Comics they mention her family, alittle bit of her world, and herself as a princess. 0.0 (She isn't a Princess in the Series?)

I notice that the Series follow up the role of Bloom, but then it basically got everyone's time in the role too (Season 4).

In the Comics, sometimes follow up the Series too, but they have more adventures. =) They even gave all the Girls their role depends on the Issue of the Comics. xD
(Aw, wish I can catch up the comics...I only have Vol. 1. -_- I can't wait for Nick to give us the Winx Comics back again; well I hope. xD)

There are both major and minor inconsistencies between the comics and the television series... :/ They're both enjoyable, though, in their own right.

At the same time, the television series is the more popular and more viewed expression of the "Winx Club" idea, and for that reason, it would be nice to see some more focus on underdeveloped characters there.

Yep I agree if people couldn't afford to buy all the Winx Comics or they don't have any in their area. xD They just watch the Series on TV. =)

Uhm, question (And this sounds weird since I DO agree with the sentiment....)

Why does Winx get so much flak for this? Other shows do it too. Focussing on several (Or even just one) characters and leaving others in the dust.... Is it because this is a Winx forum that we don't gripe about this that much?

I mean, someone once gave the fun fact that the original title was gonna be 'Magical Bloom' or something around those lines. And we were all like 'Well, that would've sucked.'
However, a LOT of shows/movies/book series are named after the main character:
Harry Potter
Generator Rex
Artemis Fowl
And my favorite (Since it's the same genre and is obviously the inspiration and seen as vastly superior):
Sailor Moon

Why is it in Winx Club that we see this as especially bad? Or.... maybe I'm just seeing things? I dunno, this is something weird I taught up when drinking Mocha Chocolate Milk and watching too much Online Internet reviews. Forgive me if I sound a bit off.

Where do you get comics from Nick? I've neer heard of such a thing! It's really cool mayb they have some comics here. At my loca Library there is one comic about Bloon in season 1.

I meant I hope that Nick will bring back the Winx Comics. Just heard that the Winx Club Stuff are coming back like DVDs, Games, Dolls, Magazines, and many others. =) -From the Article about Season 5 and 6-
Just have to wait.

I catch up with the English Comics from TinyDragon's Winx Comics. =)

That's cool. =D They sure will have it in your area too cause Nick will also air Winx Club in Canada too.

Nick'll actually air it in Canada? Yes! Yeah, Tecna is in TOTAL need of screen time. They tried to get rid of her in Season 3. It didn't work then, so I'm guessing it wouldn't work now. Did someone say they're bringing back the magazines? I'm Canadian, so no such chance in the first place. Y'know whats strange? I started out witHW inx on the 4Kids version, yet I dislike 4Kids soooo much.
