Winx Online TCG?, A Fan-Site to collect virtual winx cards? Options

Well, umm, I posted something in the livejournal winx community gauging some interest, and while I've shared the news of this with the rest of the online TCG community, I thought I'd share it here, too, now that's it's "opened."

I recently started this, and it just opened for prejoin today. (Prejoin = not everything is 100% up and running, but people can still join, get starter packs, get membercards, and get some exclusive goodies.) I won't get into the whole spill about what an online TCG is. I did write an "about" page and there is information up to get you started. Though it is a TCG, it's really just pixelated cards-- you don't battle with them, they're collectables that you can put on your website or livejournal if you have one (you do need somewhere to display your cards, afterall.)

As a note, games aren't working at this time-- games are generally how you earn cards. You can also earn them through contests (like graphic-making or candybar doll dress-up!) or events/updates-- yes, when I make new decks from here on out, people will get to take some cards from them as specified in updates!

I wasn't sure where to post this on this forum other than here. I want to make other winx fans aware of it incase they are interested in joining ._.

I have creditted all resources where I've gotten my information from on a credits page, so no one has to worry about any stolen information. I'm screencapping all episodes myself though.

I just got through season one... so that's why there is so much pink. That's the template for season one (pink). If you see Bloom's Believix deck, you will notice that it's purple. That is the color for season 4. Season 2 is likely to be blue with Season 3 being a mint-green. Also, after prejoin is over, there will be opportunities for members to donate images to character decks, themed decks, and more! I don't know when the pink layout will change, but it shouldn't be hard to change since I figured out the php for it finally.

If anyone has any questions I'd be more than happy to answer them. ._. I really hope this is allowed and that I'm in the right forum. XD I'm always terrified of posting things because I don't want to accidentally break rules, but I didn't see anything against it in the rules. @@; Sooooo yeaaaah.

when you join what dose collecting mean and what if you dont have a website (i have a facebook)

Livejournal is a great place to display your cards. You'd only need it to display them, and it's completely free to get one (no personal info required when I got mine?)

And collecting means which deck. I should probably write that on there.... but you will see I'm collecting the Believix - Stella deck. Therefore in the part of the form to fill out, I'd write in: believixstella (you can go to the card pages and whatever is after .php? is the name of the deck you should input into the field.) A friend of mine joined livejournal for the soul purpose of playing an online trading card game XD I just host mine on my personal journal and make the entry public. Livejournal is a wonderful host because it simplifies things. You don't need to know a lot of coding. Just know your image tags which is one set and you're good to go. There will be a forum added to the site later for trading so that you won't have to use e-mail.

Generally people organize their cards like:

Collecting (Not Trading)

Future (Trading or Not- Up to you)

Trading (Trading for anything, usually you want to trade for future/collecting items).

That's how I do it, anyways. On livejournal you'd have to use the html <img tags around each card (basically the html equivilant of bbcode). But that's not really hard to do. ^^ I feel like I got on a tangent, but I hope that helped explain it some?

Joined! When you join you are suppose to get 5 cards corect? I got five but there are three red Xs above them.

Awesome! Well, you were supposed to get cards from your choice deck. I'll add you to the memberlist and send you those cards ASAP. (I'll look and see why it may have errored?)

Edit: I checked the error, and it's because it wasn't a deck listed currently. But Musa and Riven decks will be added in the near future (as well as couples decks with images of them both). I'm temporarily putting you down for Believix - Musa deck as soon as I finish adding it to the site, then I will send you your three cards from it.

I forgot to mention that decks will consistantly be added throughout the tcg, and if there are decks you want to see sooner than others, just comment on the news posts during prejoin period with these suggestions and I'll place them at top priority!

Got the cards! Sent in a request for a member card. Not to sure if the image link willwork or not.

Could you explain the whole point system? I am complete understanding it. I have 10 cards but I need 101 to get my first stamp card?

Oooh, nooo. XD Don't worry, I'm also going to make a tcg101 section for people who have never played TCGs before. (it's not up just yet.)

This weekend, one set of games will be ready to play. Through those games, you will earn cards. Some might be trivia, some might be puzzles (using javascript), or even memory with cards. When you get 101 cards, you can level-up from applicant to freshman. To do so, you need to complete 1 stamp card. I will also be making those to add soon. Stamp cards are 25 card-worth of trades.

Say I traded my believixmusa01 for your believixstella08 (hypothetically, if we had the cards and wanted to trade), that would be 1 point on your stampcard. Then, someone else trades their believixmusa09/10 and membercard for your fatedencounter01/02 and membercard - that would be 3 points on your stampcard. When you have traded 25 cards, that is 1 stamp card. I'll try to explain that better on the site. ^_^ I know that it sounds a little tough, but since games aren't up yet, it's harder to get cards. When I update this weekend with the huge update, your card count is bound to go up from 10 to about 40 I would say. (maybe more, depends on how many decks I get done and how many games are ready to play.)

So I said it seemed interesting, but I didnt join yet cause I've never even heard of anything like this before, so thats why if I join but end up not liking it much, I'm worried leaving could be annoying or mess it up.

humbu: You don't have to really worry about if you don't like it, you leave. I've had to leave TCGs and go on hiatus before because I didn't like them or it was too busy. If you would like to give it time until the grandopening to see how it goes, that's fine ^^. I've included a TCG101 post that might interest you. TCG 1010 -- it's a lot more simple than it looks, but if you don't end up joining, it's okay. I'm glad you find it interesting at least!

Tiny Dragon: I couldn't believe there wasn't a winx one. Since I'm a huge fan of it, I decided I should do it myself. Though I've never ran a website before. XD I keep getting the weirdest errors sometimes. I hope you'll like it! Games will be up Saturday or Sunday to play and earn cards.

If anyone is interested, I AM working on getting games up. I hope that they will be up by this weekend, like I said before. I don't doubt they will. If I release them before them, I will let everyone know on the website. ... This is my baby pet-project. But I really have to screencap more. XD I haven't started on episode 2. I have a couple of questions before I decide whether to join or not

1) Is there an enchantix stella to choose from the start or not? As I could not find it but I know you are adding them
2) Do you need to display them on your website or could you display them else where?

1.) Enchantix Stella will be up by next update! I am screencapping all enchantixes tomorrow, and I'd really like to get all transformations done before moving on to more scene decks (charmix will probably be the last "transformation" added- but I doubt people really care all that much about it XD). Prejoin will last about a month, so if you would like to wait until Saturday request it as your choice deck/join?

2.) You could display them elsewhere. As long as it's not a myspace/facebook/etc. Places like livejournal, blogger, etc. are really good for making the trade-posts and they're free and userfriendly (in my experience).
