I know we have the "What song are you listening to?" thread, but I wanted to go for something a little different with this music topic. Every once in a while I'll be on the look out to try or find new music I can add to my collection/playlist and sometimes I luck out and find a friend who tips me off to an interesting sound. More often than not I can't find anything I like without help. So, if anyone wants to give it a try, this may be a place to post songs/video clips of music that you personally recommend. Possibly someone (like me ^^) may pick it up and find new interests. It could be popular, dance, jazz, instrumental, classical, from soundtracks, etc. I'm not sure if anyone is interested in trying this, but here goes: The song I'm posting is a trance/dance mix by one of my favorite groups, Enigma (with a mix of the group ATB). Even if you don't understand the song, I thought the beat was pretty good. It's not quite mainstream though, so sorry if it sounds "odd". Listen to Push the Limits. Or, the music video, though it's a bit racy so maybe only for ages 14 and up? (Hope this topic makes sense, have fun with it?)

Nice style. I likes. Well, posting all the various J-Pop here I listen to is a little unnecessary, but I *will* however, post one the link to one song I particularly like. It's the newest song, or one of the newer songs, by JAM Project. They're a band in Japan composed of some very well known musicians that were successful in their own right and are considered a "super group" as a result. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GthYCaZFQYUThe song, Crest of Z, is the theme for the most recent console SRW.

(Miss Congeniality...hilarious movie.) There's a Latin pop beat in that one. I like it AD. I had no idea Ms. Montana covered the song, oi. This next one I snagged from Asher, hehe: Shut Up and Explode by Boom Boom Satellites Audio versionYoutube versionI can't get over how much I like the guitar in this one .

Someone really likes the Miss Congeniality soundtrack . But again, thanks for the suggestion. Here's an anime soundtrack suggestion. There may be a few people who actually are not familiar with Cowboy Bebop, so I'm throwing this out there. One of the most unconventional opening themes for an anime I've heard yet--who doesn't like the awesome jazz sound?! (the whole soundtrack is friggin' awesome actually) Tank! by The Seatbelts Youtube video (not bad for an AMV) It's songs like this that make me hit myself for not playing the saxophone instead in high school so I could join the jazz band. x_x

Well, this is an interesting topic..... I know that my music taste is very different to the mostly people in here so, i would like to suggest something that you may like.. so i'll try some instrumental ones.. the genre is actually " instrumental progressive rock/metal" so it may be "boring" for some people because of the length of the song If any of you like those maybe we can talk about music after all "Glasslow Kiss" by John Petrucci (Dream theater/liquid tension experiment Guitarist) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFXvfBL4WkU"Kindred Spirits" by Liquid Tension Experiment(Dream Theater without the singer) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTQm7Yag_JYIf someone of you want something a bit more aggressive click this one, if not go straight to the last one... this one is "Acid Rain" by Liquid Tension Experiment... one of the best in my opinion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sA079BM0MuMand for the end.. the slow sweet and almost sad only piano and guitar song "State of Grace" by Liquid Tension... for a very relaxing eye-closed air-guitar solo LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNeVC97HiRIBtw John Petrucci is considered the 9th Greatest Shredder of All Time

Lolz, I feel like that instrumental guitar music has been or should be soundtrack music for a variety of shows I can think of. Mainly fight scenes in anime ^^. Those are some stellar guitar rifts. I don't get into music like that much anymore (I guess I'm just not "young" anymore =p) but I can appreciate it for its quality. I tried to learn guitar and I guess my hands are just too small since I can't do chords at all. It's difficult, so I respect anyone who can play as well as they have shown in your links above. While we're on the guitar theme, here's two I thought of that anyone who knows their history of rock n' roll ought to know. That and anyone who's listened to a rock station should have heard a few times by now. Layla by Eric Clapton. Seriously, if you haven't heard this song...@_@. just kidding =p But the guitar rift/solo is worth it even if you don't care for rock music. It's friggin' awesome. Tears of the Dragon Bruce Dickinson. I just wanted to throw this one out there because this man has a nice voice (in my opinion) and this particular song (while overplayed) has a rather nice melody to it. An odd video...but, still nice regardless ^^.

No problem, you don't have to like any of the songs I put up, or will put up. I'm mainly throwing those songs out there in case other people come into this topic. Basically my goal (depending on whether people check it out) is just to try out new music here for myself or for anyone else who wants to. And yeah, I don't know why the anime soundtrack thing popped into my head. I blame it on shows like Saint Seiya and Ronin Warriors for making me think that. If I just lost you nevermind xP. Rofl, thank god someone on here is older than me. And I official hate birthdays now, lol. I think what I mean by no longer "young" is that my internal clock has aged tremendously. I used to listen to heavier music in high school. That waned through college, and now I'm onto anything that I can listen to at low volume, haha. I still love the sound of a guitar, but I just need peace in my life so I go with "easier" music now. I sound like I'm 70 years old living in a retirement home. *cackle* I always did want to go to a Metallica concert before they stop touring forever, however, I literally feared the claustrophobia of the crowds and sadly will probably never go. Iron Maiden, know a few songs, but again, couldn't get into them anymore because my head reels at the "clashing" no offense, lol. The heaviest I can do these days is something similar to this song, which I posted farther up in the topic. ^^

Yes, i know thats the point of the topic... i just give my opinion about it... I know what animes are you talking about btw... Yeah.. I hate birthdays too (since a lot of years ago LOL)... oh, i get it... you just get boring LOL just kidding... The crowd idea is always a scary thing... never know what could happen if the people get too "intense"... Im not really into Metallica that much, I always prefer Slayer on that "style", but thats just my opinion Btw, I really like the Cowboy Bebop Soundtrack, but for my taste one of the best Anime soundtracks is the original 1986's BubbleGum Crisis OST... i just had to get the 8cds... LOL Official AIG music Videos.. just in case that anyone like it "Konya Wa Hurricane" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQaTFn478JQ"Asu e no Touchdown" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1U0zdX8V9Y(too bad that the show was****90's remake****so bad****can't believe*****hate***WHY?!!... but that's goes on other topic...) Hehehe....80s music is one of my weaknesses. Especially 80s rock. DeadInside: Loved the music. Loved it. More of that 80s rock feel I love (I'm going to overuse that word a lot I can tell). Synthesizers, steady drum beat, streaming guitar. Whoo! AD: *nod* I can respect ABBA, while I never got into them, they have some solid classics for sure. I don't mind singing to their music at all ^^. Catchy stuff! Well, here's my two cents. Don't know Daft Punk? Or if you do you have to watch this girl dance to it: Harder Better Faster Stronger. *wishes I could dance* But I love the song.

*tut tut* Bad Zhanneel...forgetting about her own topic. >_< *apologizes* Got busy and forgetful... I just listened to the Vixen songs, and they are truly epic 80s rock stylings. I would die to have a singing voice as strong as that. Or maybe that of the Heart sisters. Either one. So while I'm at it... Heart. Their songs are always fun to sing, IMO. I can't remember which one is which, but the blond sister in this vid has an outfit I'd also die for, lol. (scratch that, can I just be her?) They play a lot of Heart songs where I work, but never have I heard Vixen. Kind of tragic. =( Now onto one other noteworthy artist I recently found. ÐœÐКSИМ ("Maksim", or rather Marina Abrosimova) Do You Know. The video is slightly risque, but overall not terrible. So click if you're over 13? (That was arbitrary, heh.) Anywho, this Russian singer blows me away with her beautiful voice. Not to mention the Russian language sounds pretty as it is. To me. =)

LOL I thought that this topic was dead Well, all the music related topics on this site (except the What are you listening...) seems to be short lived .. that and the fact that my posts seems to have some kind of topic-cancer effect, once i say something the topic is Doomed LOL ...Its not rare that you have never hear Vixen... it was never very popular i guess, i think that the reason is that they "succeed" and go "pro" when the style they play was dying, recording their first album at the ending of the 80's beginning of the 90's and the second one on the 90's.... after that they change their style but what left was some kind of boring Heavy metal and then they change the singer and it make it worst... (maybe this info is not totally accurate) If you are interested the best discs are "Vixen" (1988) from where i take the song i post, and the second one "Rev it up" that is not great but its good. I really don't know much about heart... i think its too "happy" for my taste LOL Never hear of ÐœÐКSИМ... it really sound very nice.. even when its not my kind of music... i don't know, it bothers me not to understand what the song its about LOL And talking about Music i have no idea what is about... Have you ever hear Lacrimosa? As my friend says "is some kind of CastleVania Soundtrack but with Lyrics" LOL "Alleine Zu Zweit" Slideshow version... the video is R rated LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AL86DlbFVTQ"Kelch der liebe" love the violins in the back http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P14A6u_jEQg"Am ende stehen wir zwei" Annoying choirs in the middle, but worth for the duet parts especially at the end http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFq1sqXZ8Vw"Ich verlasse heut dein Herz" Awesome piano/guitar... listen 'till the end http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGhRaCttw7k

*gasp* I didn't even know this topic existed!
Okay, my turn!
Well, I'm a good ol' Canadian girl. So, naturally, one of my fave bands is: The Tragically Hip.
They once performed on Saturday Night Live because of Dan Aykroyd, and they've had a few songs reach mainstream radio in the states but as far as I know their popularity elsewhere in the world is nothing compared to what it is in 'the true north strong and free'. So, if you've barely heard them or never heard them, give my boys a listen! (I really do feel very close to this band, their music has been playing in the house probably since before I could walk. Thanks mom).'Grace, too'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNc0ON41Ik0'At The Hundredth Meridian'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rnXo14Rqf0'Poets' (played this one at mom's funeral)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b24OrlbDsS4 'Ahead by a Century' (I actually sat through some of 'Jumper' just to watch the scene where this song is heard in the background)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6-Vn0kxUFA'The Darkest One' (Featuring some swears. Why? Three words: Trailer Park Boys. Oh, and some Don Cherry. Saw him in the parking lot of our local LCBO once. INSERT MORE NONSENSICAL RAMBLING HERE. K?)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_DR45Mtrsg'Thugs'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO9C-vsikdI=D
