So.... in the two newest Transformers franchises (Live-Action Movies, Animated) there's been tons and tons of 'Redesigns' of older Transformers, from the obvious like Optimus and Megatron, to the obscure like Swindle and Sideways. Now, for afficienados, I have a question:

Which Transformer would you like to see returned in a new package, be it Live-Action or Animated-sort?

Myself, I'm still hoping for Blast Off:



Blast Off's behaviour was modelled after an Aloof English Gentleman, which gave him charm, and he could turn into a space-shuttle, which gave him awesomeness. That, and he was part of my favorite group of combiners: the Combaticons. Always calm and patient, I always felt like he gave the group (As well as the cartoon) a bit of sophistication, which could be lacking from time to time (Especially when you realised he shared a team with Brawl, Vortex and Starscream at one point.) He has always been a sleeper favorite of mine, and I still hope one of the new continuities gives him a chance.

That's indeed a cool mode. And there have been rumors that something similar will happen in Revenge of the Fallen. (Don't take my word for it, might just be a rumor.)

Yup. Sounds cool. But what's this stuff with giving Optimus wings? icon_confused.gif Not that it's not cool, but.... why? It happened in the Animated Finale as well. I feel very double about this. Maybe because Optimus has been my first real hero.... and I feel he's good enough as he is.

Meh.... it wouldn't fit in both the 'Animated' Universe nor the 'Live-Action Movie' Universe. Don't get me wrong, they were fine in Armada, but they don't appear in the newer incarnations, and wouldn't really fit, either.

I mean, in Animated, the message is basically that you don't need equipment nor a title to be the hero, you need to have the heart. (That's why I think the fact that Optimus Prime got wings in the finale was so glaring. At least him getting the Hammer of Leadership (Unoficial name) had a good reason and some build-up. The wings? Kinda came outta nowhere.)

Well, in the Animated Finale, he got a pair of wings...... and if the rumors are correct, he combines with Jetfire in Revenge of the Fallen, quite possibly also giving him wings.

Remember the first gen episode, "The Girl Who Loved Powerglide"? Those were the days.

What ever happened to power glide? I do not know if he ever got his redesign. I liked his based-on-an-A10 look.

BTW, are Jetfire and Skyfire the same guy? The first gen episode where Skyfire returns and in the end selflessly risks all to save the Earth -- and loses is also one of my faves.

For as far as I can tell 'Skyfire' is indeed another name used for Jetfire in some continuities.

Powerglide was funny. He's also a nice competitor for a re-design. (Doesn't have one yet, pity.)
