Omg, Lisa Ortiz did a promo for that...

Anyways, I last saw Anne of Green Gables.

Ooh it's my favourite book! I finished the second book in the series today! I so wanna see that movie, I'm jealous (not really but I'll just keep that too myself icon_razz.gif). SUN BLAST!

The most recent movie I saw I can't remember but I'm gonna watch Princess Protection Program again today.

I just came back from 2012

And it's really not that bad. The effects were well done, the characters were what I like to call 'Adequate Stereotypes' and some moments actually got me teary-eyed. But... really, movie, did you have to give the Russian girl such a harrowing death? She was lovable, cute, almost broke out of her stereotype, you gave her an awesome moment and both literally and figuratively had the world crashing down on her (Her boyfriend got killed, her stepdad screwed her over.... and then there was this whole 'apocalypse' thing)..... couldn't you give her a break on the dying, at least?

Should I have used spoiler tags? Or are you not a disaster-movie fan?

Oh well, to each his own.
Besides, me and my mum enjoyed it for the wrong reasons from time to time, cracking jokes as if we were on Rifftrax. Here were the best:

*As the subway tumbles into the chasm*
My mother (In the infamous Dutch Trainstation announcer voice): Our next station; centre of the Earth.

*On a collision course with the Mount Everest*
Me: Now THAT'S and iceberg!
My mother: Eat that, Titanic!

And of course, both of us mourning the fact that R.E.M.'s apocalypse song didn't even get a passing mention. (You know the one)

....
Yeah, we've got a silly sense of humor.

Aw, I wonder if 2012 is still playing here...I'd like to see it.

Currently watching Cinderella Story. The GOOD one. Without Selena Gomez.

R.E.M = WIN!

Just had to say it... couldn't help it.

Isn't 2012 coming out on DVD? I think I just saw a commercial for it... hmm... (Note to self: be sure to tell the middle-aged believer in the 2012 apocalypse to not ever insert that movie into her DVD player... ever.)

The last movie I saw: Food, Inc. (A documentary that was up for an Oscar, actually.)
To put it simply: It made me never, ever want to touch anything from Tyson again... or eat anything at all that didn't come from a farmers market or local supplier. It actually gave me an impulse to go through our kitchen cabinets and circle "high fructose corn syrup" in permanent marker on all products that had it (turning the ingredients side towards the front, to show everyone.)

Yes; it was that bad: it was a great documentary; very, erm... disturbing, though.
(Not recommended for the squeamish. I learned the hard way...) icon_sad.gif

I watched 'Knowing' today....

Now here's a film that could've been great. It could've been an epic movie. A more subdued type of disaster movie with a slight supernatural twist. However, some things ruined that potential, creating an okay movie with some great moments, hinting at how awesome it could've been if handled with a bit more subtlety. (And without Nicolas Cage. I'm sorry if you're a fan of him, but I can't stand the man.)

I saw Kick-*** when it opened (can I say that? It's the name of the movie...), and I loved it. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but I still thought it was awesome.

What I also loved was the reaction from critics and parents that were freaking out about how kids could imitate it. You mean, parents might need to take responsibility and keep and eye on what their kids are seeing, and then talk to them about it and be held accountable for teaching their children right and wrong? Gasp!

Hereafter.

Definitely a deep movie - for mature minds only, and I emphasize that. The whole movie, and I mean in its entirety, is about a very dark subject. The movie in itself may have come off as thoroughly saddening, not at all one to see if you're looking for something with a light mood, but at the same time, it provided fuel for the mind to decide for oneself the mystery behind the inevitable. It made you think, to put it simply; it made you think about life in a deeper respect. I myself thoroughly enjoyed it, despite the holding back of tears at least twice (once I just let them flow freely, there was no stopping it.)

I would recommend for those who have a respect for "deeper" movies and who are mature enough to handle the content.

I cannot say the same for "The Social Network." Waste of time, really. The only thing that I "gained" from it was a newfound dislike for Facebook "creator" Mark Zuckerburg. The dragging on of agonizing minute after minute of discussions on this and that which could have ended within a mere few moments was enough to make me wonder "why did I bring my friends to see this?"

Went to see Scott Pilgrim the other day.

My mind = Blown.

I love this movie! The story's cute, the fast pacing of the humor is excellent, and most surprisingly, the special effects and the fight-scenes are very, VERY well executed and varied.
It's said to be the ultimate Geek-movie, and I can see why. But even if you're not a geek, (I think) it's a movie to behold, altough I admit the ludicroussness all around might throw some people off, but hey, it's movies. I watch them for my entertainment and hoo boy, did I get entertained. I think it holds the record of me actually laughing out loud in a theatre. (I lost count once Wallace was introduced.)

Scott Pilgrim was epic. I loved it heaps. And you're right, it was absolutely hilarious.

Anyhoo, most recently I watched Prince Caspian. AT the cinema most recently, I saw Harry Potter.
