I haven't followed this series, only playing Persona 3 before..... but I really like this game, it's a nice mix of horror/fantasy/mystery, and I like the departure from Persona 3's darker tone.

What are you talking about P-girl? Persona 4 is mostly a return to the Original Persona (1, 2: Innocent Sin, 2: Eternal Punishment) games. but then again, I really haven't gotten far in either but P4 starts out much darker than P3 did. (dead bodies littering my TV antenna? who boy is that going to ruin reception).

I was talking about the overall tone. It just feels so much lighter to me. Maybe it's Teddie..... Or the fact that the intro doesn't show a girl trying to shoot herself in the face.

Ah. yea from first appearances it does look lighter, but don't let that fool you! it does deal with some pretty heavy subjects. and Teddie is interesting.

I think it's the way of summoning and gaining Personas. I'm one of those persons who really didn't like the whole 'Shoot yourself in the head with pure emotional trauma.' schtick.

well Personas have been only able to be summoned by Personal trauma. kinda a theme with the series, although it changes from game to game really. on a semi-related note earlier this year (around april) Atlus released a remake of the Original Persona, and the really cool thing is that Atlus US is going to be releasing it Stateside TRUE TO FORM! the original Persona when it came state side was kinda "revamp'd". BUT NOT ANY LONGER!

P-Girl, you really think Persona 4 isn't as dark as P3? I think it is, but that's what I love about it. <3

I'm... going to go cry now. Shadow Teddie killed me.

I HATE it in this game where the MC dies, no one else can revive him. I have everyone on manual, I had him all healed, but Teddie pumped up and used an ice attack.

And I liked you Teddie! D:
