The Last Samurai was horrificly untrue to the events that actually happened though. Mainly because the Samurai had modernized their military force too. But it's hard to have good guys and bad guys clearly separated when one can't have obvious cultural positioning over the other.

i've been wanting to see AVATAR for a while now...but guess what, in saudi arabia they don't have movie theaters...yeah i'm serious so you have to wait till it comes on DVD icon_sad.gif
last week my school had a field trip to the show room in the national guard (it's a compound) to see a movie and i thought they were gonna see some old movie that i saw before so i didn't go....but guess what they saw.
AVATAR...................... IT'S SOOO NOT FAIR!!!
i am never gonna miss another field trip in my life 0_0

It's a really awesome movie. Probably the best drama I've seen in a long while. It's not heavyhanded or preachy and it's remarkably true to the Christmas Truce of 1914 on the frontlines of WWI.
