Was the site down yesterday? I kept getting a timeout when trying to come here!

If they deleted topics that no one has posted in since 2008... Or each member could delete his/her own topics when wanting too, it would be better and they probably could get it back. Also there are no more running contests so once contests are finished the should be removed.
Anyway the site is not supposed to be working properly until 5 hours maybe then they could get it back!

*sniff* At least you're with us Adminy. Thanks for the update. Maybe you can find a new shoutbox that doesn't chug the resources quite so much?

Seriously...that shoutbox was a crutch for so many people. I think we wore it out >_<.

Here are some ideas to reduce bandwidth that actually WORK.

  • Limit avatar demsions and size. 100x100 at 200kb is a loose limit
  • Limit picture demsions and size. 600x800 is big enough. If you want to link, post a thumbnail. Size limit should be 500kb. No reason to post a png that os 6mb and as big as a room...
  • Sigs should be limited I don't mind on demsions, but something like 600kb is large enough.


Consider those. If you say they are too strict then you are just too much of a hippie! Seriously. Images will be like 70% of your total bandwidth

Wait...are you just joking that the server went boom because of all the intense posting that was going on that night? Because I was actually very worried about that myself since that was the night the Clearbourne rp was going nuts with posting...but I didn't want to correlate that to the death of the site. >_< Can't be, we've had other nights with fast posting before...
