I think bloom is like the most powerful fairy in the show cause she has the dragonfire.
Duh, everyone knows that. But the rest of the winx girls are powerful too^^
Agree with you on that. Everyone is strong at a point. For instance, Tecna is strong also because she is the smartest out of all of them and that is what makes her strong also.
Bloom is obviously the strongest. Tecna is the smartest technologically, Flora is the best student and the best with plants, Musa is the best musician, Aisha is the best athlete, Stella is...the best fashionista?
I always saw Stella as the eternal optimist, cheering people up when they're down. Like a little ray of sunshine (Ow, that was bad.)
(Yeah, it kind of was. But we'll forgive you.) I guess, but she can also be something of a pessimist, no? And there are times when being too optimistic is a bad thing since it doesn't let you face reality properly.
True. Well, I think Stella has the positive attitude and that preppy one that is energetic. Maybe her strong point is that she doesn't give up though Bloom also has the strong point also.
I think that everyone who watches winx club knows that Bloom is the strongest but to me she isnt the strongest when it comes to having faith in herself, like when Sky didnt love her she just gave up [wow] or that she didnt believe there was any way to get her enchantix
And then, miraculously, she believed in herself and it got her her Enchantix. Whoa, what a revolutionary lesson to be imparting to all us kids. [/sarcasm]
Yea, I wonder who has the most faith. I think Flora can be really strong when it is to save someone that she loves like her sister.
Right now, I hate to admit it but I think Bloom is most powerful, then Stella and then Layla or Tecna who's power has made a terrific jump since she gained her Enchantix and got back with the club.
I think Layla could be powerful also. She just doesn't like fighting.
Actually, yes, Layla has a ton of unused potential. She needs more screen time!
She's nasty when she wants to be. But I also think her overconfidence could easily get the best of her; she's always stunned when her attacks don't have their desired effect.
Its good though that she has a weakness, it adds to the realism of the character.
I also think Bloom is the most powerfull! Trix were lost by her, Baltor....
its a shame that Bloom is automatically declared the most powerful... kind of unfair (but hey, she's the main character.)
As the main character, of course, she's got to have the most rich history, and it doesn't get much fuller than the creator of the universe bestowing his power upon you as a baby.
I think the whole finding self determination and will power thing at Pyros was a bad way for her to achieve her enchantix... All the other girls made a sacrifice and saved something, and she didn't have to do either...
Farragonda was like, "Thats a rare way to get an enchantix" and made a big deal about it and yet she didn't mention tecna saving an entire realm o_O. The only other girl she congratulated, I think, was Layla.
I think the same way too. I mean, all Bloom mostly did was ran away from dragons and umm... learned how to roar like one. If it was that easy, then all the girls could get it that way if desperate. They could of make Pyros more dangerous.
I think she should have made a sacrifice and saved somebody just like all her friends. If I was one of the winx girls, I'd give her a piece of my mind. xD
Bloom is suppose to be the most powerful I think. She has the dragon fire.
After surviving the Omega demention, Tecna has become so powerful. She could almost rival Bloom. Faragonda said "not many could have survied Pyros" But how many could servive the Omega demention?
I was really suprised also. I found it funny when she said she found out how to make food out of ice that is better than the cafeteria food.
maybe bloom is the most powerful but i think the girls are all capable of being really powerful i their own way
pyros are mostly just dragons but omega has the worst and most dangerous criminals trapped there.
they just basically want to make a big deal out of bloom being able to get her enchantix in a "rare way".
I think once Bloom actually masters using the dragon fire, she'll be the most powerful in the group. The dragon fire is the most powerful element after (I think). Right now though, all of them are equally powerful.
they all could be equally powerful.just because she had the dragonfire doesn't make her so powerful if she doesn't have the skill.
Omega is soo much more scarier
umm well i guess thwt pyros is scary and i know tecna is suppose to be powerful. but i thin kit has to be the wya. shes l=the lst thrown to an a ncient planet that had a bad endind and has the power for the main powerful thing the dragon fire which mostly made the magical universe.
I beleve that Bloom is the most powerful . i do aggree that Laylas overconfidence wil be her downfall.
So do I
yeah
i think the same as u
because she the main character
well, maybe she has the strongest powers, but the other fairys know how to use their powers exactly. bloom had to learn it..
and then, she had no really trust into her powers, remember season 1, the trix "stole" her dragon fire? and bloom believed it and didnt
trust, that the dragon fire is deep inherself.
I guess she still thinks she is a earth girl and can't believe the fact that she holds the most powerful power(this sounds weird.o.O)in magix
I think bloom is the most powerfull one since she is the main charecter
guys do you like Cascada miracel? I love it!
i really dont call that the strongest power the way bloom handles it
and she winie
bloom is the most powerful cuz first of all she has the magic which once created the whole magical universe... itz one of the strongest magic along with the other magic in shadow haunt
I don't think Bloom has much control over her power. I agree: I also don't think she's too confident, both in herself or her powers (note: Witches stole her powers, Darkar took over her and her powers, and she was the last one to get her enchantix out of all her friends.)
Yes! Bloom cant really control her powers and She seems that she doesnt understand she has the greatest power ever in the palms of her hand
i think she is just immature and doesn't understand things very well. That why she cant control her powers
Well even though it has been three years, Bloom still is new to the whole magical relm thing. I agree that she is the most powerful fairy, but at the same time she isn't because she lacks confidence and control.
Ever notice that the Dragonfire mostly only ever comes out when Bloom becomes enraged? Because she looses control.
If Bloom were to fully master and control her powers, then yes she would be the strongest, probably in the whole magical relm. But as it is, she is still learning, theres so many questions that she has that nobody can answer for her, and although technically she is a creature of the magical relm, Bloom is still the Earth girl. Her Earth parents are her 'real' parents, and Earth is her 'real' home.
So by being thrown into the magical relm, well she jumped in or whatever , Bloom more than likely became overwelmed, then adding on the whole "You have the greatest power in the entire magical relm inside of you" in her first year of fairy college probably made her think super great things were expected of her. And if she would be able to accomplish such things everyone would be disappointed. That would probably explain her lack in confidence.
So, as she is, Bloom has the potential to become one of the greatest fairies ever, but she is not quite there yet. And she wont be there until she gains confidence.
Also, each girl is strong in their own way. Each can do things that the others cannot, therefore should the situation call for some specific thing to be done that only one of the girls could do, then that girl would be the strongest in said situation...... catch my drift?
blah I ranted again.... >_<
yah... true bloom is a bit overwhelmed but she doesnt hav that much confidence in her self... like she didnt think she cud get enchantix until she went to the land of dragons.
-------------------------
You bring up some good points Meru, I agree.
Bloom is not really strong..Wel..If she didn't meet winx and all,she wouldn't be strong. Winx all help her! The little earthgirl..
I think all the girls have a weakness, but Bloom has most of them. She was just thrown into Magix and she learned about the dragon fire. Even though she has enchantix, some times she even can't control her power. Like in the part where the girls are in the Crystal Labyrinth and the trix attack. Icy is near Bloom: Bloom has time to attack, but she does not. This is what i call 'weak.'
Stella has potential because she is an optimist, and i guess she could not be as powerful as Bloom because she is so careful of her beauty: She has to do everything with style.
Flora is too sensitive to be powerful: she can't hurt anything.
Musa has confidence and strength to be powerful, but because her past was sad, it might come up later and haunt her.
Tecna is just the girl, who is determined. She was brave enough to close the omega portal. If she'd have the dragon fire, i'd be sure she could use it better than Bloom.
Layla is just always not good enough.
Um..Correction: Flora can't hurt trees and plants!
I agree Veronica. I agree totally about your point about Tecna and Layla. I also agree that Bloom can't control her powers.
So do I
Even if atree hurt her mum or sister she won't do a thing!
Well in the episode tears of the black willow Flora hit Darcy
Go Flora! woot!
I'm glad that she's getting a little less, well, I don't know if "sensitive" is the word I'm looking for. She just got less goody-goody I suppose.
If I were to go by most powerful I'd say:
Bloom
Tecna
Stella
Musa
Layla and Flora tie
If I were to go by best use of powers I'd say:
Tecna
Stella
Musa
Layla and Flora tie
Bloom
(Bloom is the most powerful, but she just can't control it.)
Thats what I think... I'd like to hear comments or other lists on that part. ^_^
I aggree with Boo
Yet Valtore seems to have everyone's weakness.
"Ah Sound...no sound for you!"
"Ah Nature...Plants can't live without light!" (When I saw Flora's facial expression when she was shrouded in dark I almost cried...)
I'm just waiting for someone to poor water on Bloom. "Ah, fire...that one's too easy!" *splash*
You bring up some good points SolarfireWinx, I agree.
*splashes water on Bloom*
LOL I wouldnt poor water on Bloom, she might get mad and you know what happens when she is mad
She summon unbelievable powers that what happens
Or she gives Sky more problems ^_^
Has anyone ever seen Tenjou Tenge? There's a scene where someone is charging up and his friend just poors water on his head and yells "SIZZLE!"
The water evaporates and turns into steam right away. It was halarious...and I can imagine that happening to Bloom.
Lol I could imagine that too...SIZZLE! Lol
But...she can't control that "unbelievable" power xD
She Probably destroy the world because she couldnt control her powers
lol! thats funny. she would probably be like "now I'm lost more than ever!! who are you? who are my parents?"
I think their powers are in order from the theme song like bloom the most powerfull then layla, stella, musa, tecna then flora
i think their powers are in order through the theme song like bloom the powerfullest then layla, stella, musa, tecna and flora
Yes I aggree with Stella should be higher. I believe the order is:
Bloom (complete enchantix),
Bloom (incomplete enchantix extremely angry),
Stella,
Flora,
Techna,
Bloom (incomplete enchantix),
Musa,
Layla.
It might be just me, but I think Flora would be one of the least powerful (plants o_O). I think Musa would be more powerful then her...
I don't know there is a lot of nature but I think stella is really powerful with her scepter in season one and controlling the sun and the moon which is always present
Yes I aggree, but her attacks most have the word sun in never heard her say moon power or something similar. I wonder why?
I have always wondered that because her mother is moon power so she had to get some powers from her mom and her dad is sun so it has to be somewhat even why isn't anything moonlight?
hmm. I wonder that too. Plus, we never really see her mom in the series, only her dad (except for when Stella had a nightmare) She talks about both of them but the plot never includes her mom
who knows, I was kinda hoping that in season three her mom would be a part of saving her father but she never showed up... oh well.
Yes it would be nice to see her Mum.
I agree Abby, I kind of wanted Stella's mom to be shown in the plot line. I mean, even though they got divorced, you would think she would at least be there to see his new fiancee or something. It would kind of be a nice little twist if they had gotten back together like Stella was hoping.
I think the order is
Bloom (she has the dragonfire, obvious.)
Stella (the sun and moon are useful in like anything.)
Musa (she can do really powerful attacks and stuff)
Tecna (technology is very useful as a power)
Flora (well she's weak. i think so like plants can be cut with magic and stuff so why bother?)
Layla (lol her most powerful attack is a cute pink ray that can't even go trough a wall)
i think that all 3 princesess from the winx club: bloom, stella and layla would be powerful then tecna, musa and flora
I believe power is all about utilization. Bloom and Stella might have powerfull magic (Dragonflame, power of the sun.) But Tecna and, I believe, utilizes her power much better then both of them. Example; giving the most powerfull holy sword you can imagine, to a ten-year-old. Sure, he holds the biggest power, but I bet all my money on the well-disciplined, trained sword-master that'll challenge him, even with an average sword.
Layla's problem is that she's insecure about what people think of her, probably because of her sheltered upbringing. And during battle, I believe insecurity can be one of the greatest weaknesses.
If there's a season 4. I don't like it, but there's a 90% chance that the movie'll be the end of Winx Club.....
On a 4kids commercial for winx, it said that season 3 is the series finale, so I'm almost positive that the movie is indeed the end of the winx club series.
That is so sad but hat could mean just that seasons end. Also they may not know only the producer of the winx club will trully know.
i hope the movie isn't the end of the winx club. that stink if it was. i belive all the winx club is powerful not just bloom. gets me mad when people keep saying she is the must powerful. you know is also the weakest at sometimes. she doesn't know much about her parents or her origin. that what makes her weak. and stella she is powerful but her parents begin divorce and all makes her weak sometimes.and she can be so spoiled. and layla has way to much confidence in herself. she think she can do everything herself that what makes her weak sometimes. tecna belive in everything begin logic and think she is always right and deosn't show her emotions. that can make her weak. flora is too shy and that makes her weak. and musa suffers for her mother death and that makes her weak.it makes her kind of emotional. nobody is really more powerful than the other. they are all powerful in there ways. and who ever was the one who said that the princess would be powerful. it doesn't matter if their a princess to be powerful. and musa and flora are princess as well. tecna is the only one who isn't. just wanted to say that. not being mean just say what i think.
I actually think that having a loved one is a weakness. Lets say the winx were in a battle, if one of them got hurt, the rest would rush to their side, which would put them in a position of danger because they'd do anything to protect each other....
I aggree
yes and that too.
I wonder why do the guys go 4 years to school and the girls only 3 then. Unless they make the movie the 4th year.
I guess bloom isn't the only powerful one after all but stella is the second powerful becasue of the of Solaria
I also have to say that flora is really coming out of her shell like she's not hat sensitive anymore she's learning to make her powers more powerful three cheers for flora hooray hooray hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with rilianna but some people are saying that there's going to be a season 4 and 5 on other channels of the world ( correct me if I'm wrong)
if they are going to have a season 4 in other countries, i don't think that is fair. they should show it in all the countries. but i doubt they showing anymore season cause its saying to be the series finale.
i agree with riliana. i think also that the movie might be the 4th year for the winx club.
yeah but I just really hope that it still works on YTV
bloom is just powreful because of her dragonfire, if not stella would be the most powerful and would be the star of the show, after all bloom and stella are the most powerful flora is a little to shy, and she wont show off her powers thats the problem, and musa she shows it off but not her strongest move, and layla i dont really lik her for some reason i think she just didint fit in
If flora wasnt afraid and didnt let her confidence drop then she would be in the top for the powerful fairy but its her confidence that keeps her from being there. She should almost be like helia and not fight at all. But oh well.
Now I was watching those italian episodes in english of season 1, and in episode 2 they said that Alfea is a 5 year school. So far we have gone through 3 and if the movie is the 4th where is the fifth???
Good question
I thought it was a 4 year school...All I know is that there isn't going to be seasons 4 and 5...The movie is pretty much the end.
I think laylas quite strong, and stella because in season 2, when they went to darkars castle! Blomm barely had any power at all! And layla and stella nearly always were in their magic form!
Here are MY opininons:
I thought their was going to be more movies!?
Heres my opinion:
1.Bloom
2.Stella/Layla
3.Tecna
4.Musa
5.Flora
One thing i know is that in the movie layla got quite stronger then in season 3
I didn't really notice that change.
It doesn't seem like her powers have really grown much. In season 2 she had the power to make things with her morphix and such and that's all she did in the movie
*spoiler*
She just made swords and shields with it....
*end of spoiler*
So, to me, she didn't seem any more powerful. It just seems like she finally learned how to use her power well (in my opinion).
Well, Layla is good at all types. Remember, she's a outdoor activities lover, maybe she even learn taekwondo or Martial arts. But she just can't use that to beat evil villains, or else Iginio Straffi will got sued by those characters whom is acting as evil villains xD
lol Evil villains!
I'm always late in these threads...whoops, sorry if this is dead =P
Okay, I've got a few powers I rank as being most powerful (and yeah, I write too much):
I'm basing my ranking on the potential of each power. That is, if the character learned to fully hone their powers.
Musa: All around she has the ability to have the most powerful raw offensive magic of everyone...in my humble opinion ^^. Let's look at her powers: the ability to shake things. Seems kind of weak....but if we apply that to the movement of the tectonic plates of a planet, well then, she is able to create earthquakes, erupt volcanoes, and cause tsunamis. Basically, she has the potential to shift anything with vibrations. If she honed her skills she could cause massive damage and could fine tune it to create small, defined amounts of damage where it is needed. The ability to create shockwaves is pretty versatile and incredibly powerful.
Layla: Water magic--probably the most versatile of all powers. If anyone has watched Avatar: The Last Airbender you'll know what I mean. This type of magic has a wide variety of uses. The ability to move water? Crazy insane control over any planet that thrives on water. She can control anything that has large amounts of H2O. Which means, and this is disturbing, she can control any organism that contains fair quantities of water (such as people). Even more disturbing is that with the flick of her hand or whatever she uses to control the water, she could suction the water right out of a body. X_x Instant death. Yeah, very powerful and still very versatile. Wouldn't want to be near Icy is she had water magic.
Darcy: Dark/psychic power. Well, this is a cheap one, but it's highly effective. This type of magic can enslave people, confuse people, brainwash people, and on and on. I guess the only defense to her would be someone who could block their mind from her attacks. Which makes me wonder why she doesn't just overpower Icy? But maybe Icy is too strong mentally for Darcy, eh, who knows. The fairies might want to call up Prof. Dumbledore or Prof. Snape for help on mental blocking capabilities ^^.
Now, the other girls are powerful too, but I think these three powers are the most offensive/versatile. Nature power does have a lot of uses, and Tecna's digital powers come in very handy, especially if our world was really part of the Matrix =P. Stella and Bloom, well, while they have a bunch of offensive attacks, they have a lot of weaknesses (or maybe, just more weaknesses relative to the other girls). There is only so much you can do with fire. Have a barbecue? And solar magic is great if you need a nightlight. I'm sure they can do much more with their powers, but overall, I still stick with my top three ^^. Wow, did you actually make it to the end of my rant? thanks! =P
I havent seen the movie, so I dont know if layla got stronger or not!
I think Bloom is the strongest fairy because she has Dragon Fire inside her and it is too powerful that she can't control it. So I think Bloom is the strongest ^^!
A bit of a contradiction there..... at least in my eyes. If you can't control your power, no matter how awesome, you're weak. At least that's what I think. Focus and concentration are needed to. Not to mention speed, accuracy, stamina, a hint of improvisation, knowledge....... *Starts adding up all stats she can come up with*
........
I'm thinking trough to much, right? Blame SC4 and the ability to change your stats in pretty detailed ways.
Lol, I agree. If you can't use your powers properly, what's the point of having them?
Well, if you're going to say who is the most powerful, you need evidence to back it up. I like what Zhanneel did by organizing based on raw powers, but if you're looking at the girls the way they are at the end of Season Three (sorry, I haven't seen the movie, yet) then things change just a bit.
For me, personally, to say who is the most powerful isn't just looking at offensive damage. It's about the amount of power, tactical skills, common sense, and ability to control their power. I'm probably missing another factor, but I just can't think about what it is.
Bloom: Dragon Fire. Yes, yes, we know already. It's supposed to be extremely powerful raw power. However, because Bloom still has trouble controlling it (or rather, had trouble? I don't know. Remember, I'm basing this off the end of Season 3), it can leave her weak and vunerable, not to mention tired after she calls upon it. Fire also has a weakness, if you think about it (water?) but it seems that the Dragon Fire is magical fire and thus can only be put out by a certain type of water. Not to mention, she thinks a lot with her heart rather than her head, and we've seen this get her in trouble before. She's also easily angered by her enemies which can interfere with her judgment.
Stella: Sun & Moon (Have we even seen the moon power?) Well, the sun is fire, so her power would technically be categorized in the same area as Bloom's. She seems to have a better grip on her powers, but it is not as "strong" as the Dragon Fire. Stella lets her guard down often and always seems ready to claim and early victory. She's a bit behind in tactical skills as far as other girls are concerned. She's also very impulsive and takes the first course of action that comes to her mind (like jumping after Brandon in Season 2?) This could be negative or positive depending on the situation. It means that she does think on her feet, but when she has time to stop and think something over deeply, she probably wouldn't.
Flora: Nature (Plants). All in all, I find this power a bit amusing, but it has worked to her advantage before. It's not an offensive magic like Stella's or Bloom's, but it does play a good part in the scheme of things. Her magic is definitely more on the support side. She's a very soft-spoken person, though, and can be a bit unwilling to harm her enemies unless she knows she has to. Tactical level, Flora's got it down in my opinion. Because her magic is a lot of support power, it means that she will be more likely to spring traps on people. She's also not lacking in the common sense department. The only problem is that she might not always take initiative unless forced into a situation where there's no other choice. Also, she seems to have a very good grip on controlling her powers. I think Flora is a pretty powerful fairy, actually.
Musa: Sound. Musa has an interesting power that seems to be a combination of support and offensive magic. While she could use the sound waves to paralyze her enemies, she could also use it to take down larger scale enemies via the sound vibrations. Musa has shown that she can use her powers to seek people out who need help (though they need to share a similar power, perhaps)- but sonar is also another support trait which could be very useful to her and others. Musa has a quick temper which could be her downfall if she allowed an enemy to work that to their advantage. However, she seems to be pretty good at coming up with plans and sticking to them. Like Flora, she has pretty good common sense, but she very much allows her feelings to influence those common sense decisions which isn't a great thing.
Tecna: Technology. Tecna is very much a support fairy, but this doesn't mean that she's weak. Tecna, like Flora, has great control over her powers, and she's able to rely on her knowledge to get her through situations. She's not as impulsive as Stella, but she can still think on her feet. She's more willing to take initiative than Flora as well, but Tecna's downfall comes in that she's not always willing to cope when the plan changes. She's such a logical thinker that she sometimes forgets to trust her instincts (she and Stella are two extremes.) She has shown that she is capable of fighting whether or not her powers are mainly support, so I believe that Tecna is a very powerful fairy- just overlooked.
Layla/Aisha: Water molecules. Layla, to this point, hasn't shown a great deal of her power's potential usefulness. She could very much use her powers for something even bigger, but she's mostly created walls/barriers/etc. Of course, in the fight with Valtor, she did blast him which was interesting to see. She has a great advantage when it comes to atheletic ability when compared to the other girls, yet the other girls are in shape. I don't have much too positive to say about her, I guess, because she does let her emotions get the better of her and she makes stupid mistakes. Granted, she's made some good decisions at least once. Though she tries to be a logical thinker, she doesn't quite reach that level.
This is going to sound strange, but based on what I've observed, I would say that Flora and Tecna are the two most powerful fairies in my opinion. This is looking at the 4 qualities I listed above. I'm not quite sure who I would consider more powerful- I'd probably have to factor in more things, but I'd say Tecna at the moment based on Flora's passive nature.
Yup, I agree with you. Bloom's the most powerful, but only if you cansider how much power she "has". Tecna's the most powerful because of her control over her power, and her judgment on when to use it.
Very nice description of the Winx characters ^^. I can definitely see those qualities in each of the girls.
I agree when thinking about the girls in a tactics way. Tecna and Flora aren't as headstrong as the other 4 who seem to act right away, Tecna thinks things out, and Flora seems to be hesitant before acting on something to make sure it is the right thing to do. I think just looking at the powers, that Layla's is pretty powerful. The ability to use water molecules which are around us constantly.
That's how I was thinking too Abby.
I guess there are two ways to go about it. Either take the characters and their powers into consideration, or just look at the potential of each power (which is what I did). If potential is taken into consideration than we'd have to assume each Winx girl is at the top of their game and skill. But that's not true to the current condition of the character, just to what they could become... In that case, I do think Water power is so versatile that it would trump any (living) thing. Now if it's dark magic, or a shadow/ghost type creature than Water has no ruling.
Yeah, it's hard to say since there are two categories almost. I almost think that Tecna's powers might be some of the weakest, just because of how technology is all man made and it is different than having a power based on an element (like Layla or Flora). Obviously Bloom would be the strongest just looking at her actual power and she could be very strong once she learned to control it.
Personally, I'd agree with you about that, Abby, if it wasn't for the fact that Tecna can still use her powers without technology. "Firewall (in 4Kids dub)" though it looks like a web-based attack, doesn't rely on the technology around her in order to be created. She's also very good at memorizing things, so I wouldn't go so far as to say she's the weakest just because technology is man-made. Certainly, we've seen that her judgment is impaired without her constant connections (putting a bucket on her head in Season 1...) so her common sense does suffer some, but I don't think that technology makes her weak.
Afterall, to say that, you'd have to say that Bloom is only able to have her power when fire is around, Aisha-water, Flora-plants, Musa-music, Stella-Sun/Moon. Granted, their powers strengthen if they are within their chosen element (people singing boosts Musa's powers, Stella gets ill when out of the sun, etc.)
I've come to understand that layla can use any water molecules to form things as her power, and water is all around us so that is why I think her raw power is one of the strongest. I don't think Tecna is weak, just her raw power is, but she makes up for that with her knowledge and wit.
I think that in power, no one except maybe Bloom (with the Dragonfire) has a higher amount of power. I think that it really matters how they use it.
Example:
Musa: Basically, she can manipulate sound waves, so she got a lot of power, even if she doesn't technically use it that way.
Aisha/Layla: Manipulates liquids... Basically, she could control any living thing to some degree, and some nonliving.
Techna: Her power's kinda limited, since not everything is technology, but I still think it's a good power.
Flora: Plants... I dunno, still kinda limited, but useful and cool.
Stella: She gets her power from the sun, so if she's been underground or something for a while, she gets weaker, right? I dunno, I might be wrong. But she uses it pretty well.
Bloom: Dragonfire's really powerful, but she doesn't have good control over it...
It's kinda like having a ginormous but disorganized army. You'd go down if a small but structured army hit you.
It's how the Romans conquered almost all of Europe. (Sorry, that was the first thing that came to mind.)
It's a good one. One of the reasons Rome fell was simply because it did over-exhert itself, with legions spread too thin and ranging from England to Spain to Germany to North Africa.
... So when Atilla the Hun came along, he pretty much crushed them. True, he balked away from taking over the empire for reasons we don't quite know, but he came pretty close and set the ball rolling for conquerers after him.
Honestly, though, we've got the redhead Mary Sue with a horrendously broken superpower, and her only real weakness is not having a good grasp of its powers. She's all but omnipotent, dammit, and not the *good* omnipotent like Shin Getter Robo's Getter Rays or Gurren-Lagann's Spiral power. I'd like it if she actually had some interesting weaknesses to her powers, because its weaknesses that make a protagonist intriguing.
Think about it. Would the Incredible Hulk be so famous if he had complete control over his power? Would Iron Many be so unique if it weren't for the fact he can't over-exhert his armor's power source or else he dies?
That's one reason why the quality of Superman flickers back and forth so much. He lacks any good weaknesses, so in the wrong hands, the stories get dull.
Honestly, I'm not going into all of this because I don't have all the time to make up my mind about them, but I watched something recently that I found very interesting because it was a sound gun that was extremely powerful and extremely deadly.
It was created by Germany in I think WWII, I wish I really remembered how it works...but I think they said the sound waves would eventually disrupt a person and kill them. A man standing close to it would be dead in less than a minute. It was very interesting, yet very scary...I wish I could find more....
Anyway, I'm going with this because of Musa. At first I wasn't sure what all she could do other than shake things, but that'd be something pretty powerful if she could do that...though I don't think she would; too much risk involved. ^^; (I think they also said a person like a 100 miles away or so could suffer damage as well)
I dunno.... sounds plausible... but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't true, either..... I'm mailing Adam and Jamie for this one.
I'd agree ^^. I still think Musa's powers could kick major booty. I'm telling you: tectonic plate action. Seriously =P.
If Musa were smart, she'd simply make sound waves at a higher frequency than humans could pick up, but make them have subliminal messages. Instand mind control.
And she could have a cool sword like Fou does in B't X, where it doubles as a violin bow.
Not to mention what she could do with Sonar-like noises. (Hey, if a blind guy can do it in real life(After years of training, admittedly) it should be a breeze for her.) and how about the possibility of shattered eardrums? Simple, yet effective if you ask me.
Basically if it can vibrate, she can damage it--a lot ^^
I think she would have the ability to possibly hypnotize too, maybe using her magic to play a certain tune on flute or any instrument.
Abby, that's what I was talking about before. Except with music, simply make it sounds at a frequency high enough that we can't hear it, but we're still affected by it. Therefor, you have no early warning and therefor no defense.
Not to mention any sound-waves emitted in water go at 4 times their usual speed. They go through metal like 10 times faster than open air.
Most of the girls, if they really would've bothered developing strategies better than "point at the enemy and release a relatively generic attack", would be genuinely interesting.
Well, if you look at their attacks with that, um... specific-ness (sorry can't think of a better adjective), all the girls have totally different and interesting attacks. But except for some of the convergence magic episodes, Straffi really hasn't gone into the depths of their powers.
Bloom is the most powerful but on the other hand...this show was mostly about Bloom (don't get me wrong I don't dislike Bloom). Maybye in season 4 it will be more about everyone than just Bloom
That's not going to happen. It's NEVER going to happen.
Ok, its not gonna focus on the other girls, it just might have Bloom not in the center as much, which is very possible considering how it gradually gave the others more and more space throughout the seasons, in my opinion.
Well, if you look at it from a more positive point of view, even though Bloom mostly has been the main center of attention, the focus has moved away from her from seasons one to three. In my opinion, the others did start to get more air-time by the time we got to season three.
Season one was almost totally Bloom-focused, I agree. But the second and third seasons did focus on the other girls quite a bit.
Here's how I see it:
Stella: There's Stella's whole Downland problem in season two, and then the Chimera-Cassandra controversy in season three. [And other than Bloom of course] Stella has definitely been one of the characters who's gotten more airtime on the show.
Flora: Okay, a lot of season two was based on Flora overcoming her shyness and talking to Helia, that's even how she earned her Charmix. So she clearly hasn't been over-looked in season two. And in season three, I liked how we got to see Flora's home realm and her sister.
Musa: Musa had a whole concert in season two, and she also ended up getting together with Riven. And in season three, we got to see another fairy from her home realm (Galatea).
Tecna: Hm, sadly, I can't think of very many episodes where Tecna got more air-time. I think her two main moments were when she got her Charmix and her Enchantix.
Layla: Okay, I don't even need to mention how much air-time Layla got in season two. The whole second season would be completely different if not for her. She got quite a bit of air-time in the third season as well, because of the whole 'Valtor invading her planet' thing.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, but I just wanted to prove that even though Bloom has always been (and probably always will be) Straffi's main focus in the show, the other characters have gotten their share of the spotlight.
That doesn't do it for me. Saint Seiya had a lot more balance for its main characters' screen time.
Well, this is how Straffi does his show.
Something tells me he had planned a story like Blooms (where she found out she's a fairy with a heck of a past) and thought the longest and developed her first, then putting the show together he just gave her friends and that's where the others came from. I mean seriously, the original 4 are poster girls of their powers, even their names reflect their power. Aisha's different because as an additional character, over time things change for creators the longer they work in the series. Sadly enough, I think he shoved out the ideas out Stella, Flora, Musa and Tecna quickly to broaden the amount of characters. But of course they become characters of their own and they get their own fans like any shows characters. But luckily for them, and their fans, they're getting more airtime and recognition they deserve. I know they'll never get the spotlight off of Bloom, but who knows, the other girls have to adapt to living on Earth somehow. It's just like Bloom coming to Magix.
Nonetheless, I agree with Jahnavi's points. It's getting better for them and they did have their own problems to deal with in the seasons. All I can say for Tecna IS the Charmix and Enchantix. She was annoyed about how Timmy acted since she saw him give up and let the Trix go AND he wouldn't pay attention to just her rather their interest in computers; eventually she realized that he made a good hero and cared about her as well. and for the enchantix, she was missing...kinda opposite for the others personal stories, but she still got spotlight as they were trying to find her and were actually upset she was gone.
Still not enough for me. Saint Seiya all but blew my mind at the end of the Sanctuary arc of Saint Seiya for a single reason: the nature of the final fight.
To quickly preface, Saori -the reincarnation of Athena- is stuck with an arrow lodged in her heart, and will die in 12 hours. The Bronze Saints, Seiya, Shiryu, Hyoga, Shun, and Ikki have to fight their way past the Gold Saints and reach Pope Arles, the only person able to remove said arrow. Roughly 11 hours and X minutes later, we are in a position where the enemy Gold Saints are accounted for in one way or another, with Shiryu, Hyoga, and Shiryu on death's door after defeating the last three of them. Ikki, resident power-house and go-it-alone-guy of the group, is way back in the sixth of the twelve temples, technically stuck in another dimension.
Seiya finally reaches Arles, actually the Gemini Saint named Saga, who ends up having the ol' split personality problem. Saga beats Seiya left and right for much of the fight, but Seiya does manage to hit him back a bit and doesn't go down without a fight. Unfortunately, the force of Saga's attacks proves too much, and Seiya blacks out. Right as Saga goes to kill him, Ikki shows up. A great deal stronger than Seiya, Ikki manages to fight Saga to a perfect standstill. The anime and the manga diverge over what happens next; either Seiya recovers, saves Saori with magic shield (don't ask), and then the five Bronze Saints rid Saga of his evil nature; or Ikki finally slips up and gets himself killed, forcing Seiya get up again and manage to stun Saga enough to save Saori with said shield and exorcise Saga on his own.
This was a change of pace from other shows I watched, simply because Seiya, the main protagonist, genuinely fails miserably fighting Saga and it falls on someone else, albeit someone important to the plot and stated to be the strongest of the five heroes, to pick up the slack and trade blows with him. In the end, Seiya really only wins by a technicality, it's not even as if he tapped into the Power of Friendship (trademark) or anything during his fight. That being said, I rank it very high in regards to the end-of-arc fights I'm aware of, simply because it does something different, does it well, and is believable.
That's all fine and everything but have you ever noticed, animes typically are more in depth than cartoons of other countries?
I don't mean to be rude, I'm just saying, I see that usually animes are written in a deeper level and usually are better with having diverse story arcs. I hardly ever expect much depth in shows of different countries, save for Avatar at least, and that one is even inspired by multiple Asian cultures including Japan.
Now Avatar is a western cartoon I can be very proud to call western ^^. (albeit it still has Asian animators and Asian influence, but the creators were American so that's something at least!)
Yeah, I think they did extremely well with Avatar, I really wish more Western cartoons were like it. I still can't think of many western shows that are that deep with a good storyline. While it did have asian animators, it's much more respectable than those shows that just use the culture as the main point. Nick has a horrible show out on the Nicktoon's channel, and it's call Three Delivery. Before they even decide to put out a show, they better work on refining the animation first. Flash is more efficient, but not the best alternative if the overall product looks cheap and slapped together quickly. I don't tolerate shows like those.
Galactik football, a French animated series, might look shallow at first (Not to mention WAY to many CGI shots being re-used over and over again....) But the storyline and character designs are top-notch. Characters are very deep and layered for a western show.
I'd even be lenient on the whole "has to have good animation" if only I could find some cartoons with good plots. They are getting very rare to find these days. If I was into football I'd probably look into that show =P. But I'm glad they did the right thing and worried about the plot instead.
In that past 10 years I've been hard pressed to find many cartoons that actually catch my attention for more than 2 seconds. That's why I go back to the 80's and watch all of the classics (and most of them also have Asian animators, lol, especially Rankin and Bass): i.e. Thundercats, G.I.Joe, Jem and the Holograms, and I even love the kiddie shows of Care Bears and My Little Pony (since they have the animation style I love). I've been latching onto European shows though, namely Winx and W.I.T.C.H., but I wish I had more to go on than those two shows. The French Code Lyoko wasn't too bad either. There is Huntik which is coming out soon too...
Eh, maybe it just irks me because I want to do animation ^^; I also prefer shows to have a really good overall appeal, like a judge I automatically rate them in different categories. xD Picky I know, but maybe that'll help with my future career options...
I find it increasingly difficult to find good cartoons, what I do is learn about the people involved. How this works for me is because I don't exactly look for epic cartoons, just good ones that aren't annoying or stupidly childish. Then unknowingly, I always choose shows that have people from other shows that I already know of. It's practically about who you know, it's strange.
Weird.
I got into G Gundam for the quality of music, its voice acting that's made of awesomenessity, and the overall plot of it. I mean, how can you not like it when it's got a sequence like this?
I think bloom is the strongest. *sob* I wished tecna to be the strongest.
No offence, but didn't we just went trough this whole ' Uncontrollable Raw power vs. Well-used controlled powers debate?
*shakes head sadly*
Indeed we did.
And really, Bloom really can only do one thing with her abilities: burn things. Well, that and do whatever the plot demands.
Overall, however, fire just isn't an interesting ability, to me, when it comes to the elements. Stella, Musa, Tecna, and Flora, arguably could go Final Dynamic Special on everyone in a attack that's all but borderline-hax.
1. Tecna traps them all in an enclosed area with their opponent via barriers.
2. Flora makes a bunch of plants outside the barrier. Ones that don't need much water or nutrients, but they're arranged so that any oxygen gas produced by photosynthesis is dumped into the area.
3. Stella uses lights to speed up the plants photosynthesis rate. In the process, the ever-growing plants flood the environment, making the air extremely dense.
4. Condensed air lets sonic waves travel faster, letting Musa's attacks have more of a punch to them. Depending on how much oxygen is dumped into the area, we could hit up to 4, 5, even 10 times its initial strength. And the opponent has *nowhere* to run.
... Feel free to have whoever's turn it is not to add to the sequence to whale on the opponents.
Versatility will always trump strength. That's how it goes in war.
*Movie Spoiler*
Y'know, they did something like that to Mandragora in the movie (Okay, so Tecna's spell wasn't a 'barrier', but it was a containment spell. And it wasn't that.... detailed overall, but there were big similarities.)
... And I've never seen the movie, nor read up about it.
Well, it was a so called 'convergance spell'. First Flora uses her vines, upsetting the ground so several pieces of rock/soil surround Mandragora. Then Tecna uses said pieces of rock/soil to create a cage of green electricity (Pardon me, but when I noticed that, all I could think about was how brilliant that was.) Mandragora changes into a swarm bugs and tries to escape, but Layla traps her in one of her pink bubbles, forcing her to change back, as Stella and Musa combine their powers (Musa actually shouts out her attack.) and hit her..... end then it all ends with Bloom using her Dragon and Faragonda using this screen-filling white flash.... but that was less interesting.
.......
Okay, so less similar then I taught....... sorry, my bad, I just taught it was a brilliant and well-taught out attack.
As you should. Although the "make a technological barrier out of rock and soil" when your powers are technology-based is a little weird.
Then again, I won't call them on it.
Straffi probably got inspiration for that sequence from the previously-mentioned Final Dynamic Special from one of the Go Nagai crossover movie. To kill the absurdly giant monster in it, two of the guys threw massive containers filled with oil into it's mouth while the third cut a hole into its stomach. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2scbZlwCm8w
Considering Grendizer's absurd popularity in Europe, and Italy and France specifically, I wouldn't be surprised or think little of him for it. The Dynamic Special's been copied enough in Japanese culture enough as it is.
Not much to add here, but I love it when they use all of their powers together, thought the cheap burst of fire at the end kind of ruined it a smidgen =P. And I would agree: creativity and versatility is the way to go. Blasting away can get tiresome and is used too much like a cheat card.
Well, if you make it look cool, a beam/blast of energy is still very easy to watch.
Case in point: Stoner Sunshine.
All of them are so strong! Although Bloom is the strongest. I wish everyone was, then I wouldn't have to choose! Lolz!
all of them are as powerful as another one of them.
I believe that Bloom is not so much stronger than the others. Of course she has the dragonfire which makes her strong but she needs the rest of the fairies to cope, each one of them needs the rest of the Winx Club to cope.
And apart from that, each one of them is the strongest in different sections, we can't compare different things.
Nicely put Anna Maria. It gives each of the girls their own strengths.
Thanks Zhanneel. :)
I philosophized a lot before as it comes to who's the strongest, lol
i dunno i think most people would say Bloom, but i disagree i think she's most powerful when she's dark bloom. she doesnt hold back and has no sympathy whatsoever. thats the only way Bloom would be the most powerful.
runners up: Stella and Layla
but i think when they get enchantix and believix they have equal power, with Bloom only just falling behind.
i hate how flora's always the victim!! >8-( and how in S1 and 2 tecna was the weakling.
[noguests]I dont mind how Flora always gets victimized because it adds more drama since she's like the nicest and all. Plus, she's like the closest to the helpless princess/damsel in distress type of person. [/noguests]
Flora is the nicest that's true
*looks at own userbar* guess who i like best and she is also the strongest ^^, but i have noticed that i like Stella alot too She is cool.
Flora's popular because she's the 'Cute Girl'-type. A popular stereotype with younger girls, the target audience.
also flora is nice and does not tend to go around being agressive or shouting or anything so does not lose fans that way as well
Like I said, cute girl. Hardly any flaws...... Perfect for young girls.
[noguests]It doesnt surprise me. I've noticed that Flora is second on ALOT of people's lists. (That may not be true anymore, but it definately used to) [/noguests]
Lol yeah, I remember him saying that. (Rofl @ acronym explanation)
Not rofl-ing. A bit more respect for the creator of your fandom, please. No matter what he did, he created Winx. And if the fact that Winx Season 4 is presented in a liscensing show in Las Vegas is telling us anything, it's that they're trying to bring it to America. Don't go misblaming and disrespecting people just because you don't get what you want.
[noguests]I dont think she has anything personal against Straffi, but was just making a joke. Atleast thats how I see it, I have a lot of respect for him for coming up with Winx. [/noguests]
Where did he say they have no style? I taught he said the differences between America and Europe were to great. That's it.
[noguests]Didnt he say Americans arent refined enough? That pretty much means the same thing as lack of style. [/noguests]
Once again, where is it stated? Reliable quotes from reliable sources, please.
[noguests]I cant remember, it was posted a while ago. But I remember it being part of an interview he gave somewhere. [/noguests]
I remember that, and I remember someone saying the translation was wonky.
Bloom
Lol, wow this thread meandered off for a while. Just read back a page or two...
Anywho, since I'm here might as well vote again.
Musa! After 4+ years since last considering this exact topic, I still think she has the most potential for destruction. Sound waves that cause the plate tectonics to shift = planet falling apart, just saying.
I dunno. Stella has entire suns at her disposal. If she doesn't have a 'Solar Flare' spell yet, it might be an 'Endgame' spell for her.
I feel like Stella could have the most destruction at once effecting multiple planets if she was able to harness all of her power and knew a spell to do that.
I think while that is true about Stella I cannot see her ever being able to use a spell like that and even if she did it would most probably become a suicidal spell. As Stella will most probably have to be near to do it.
I dunno. Immunity to your own element would help out. (Like, wasn't that the sole reason she didn't freeze in Season 1 when they were on Domino?)
I don't think Stella is immune, I think she just resists it
I think Bloom is the stongest. She's the the strongest because she has the Dragon's Fire & lots of helpful friends & family willing to train her in her different Fairy Forms.
I believe Bloom is stronger. I love how she beat Valtor/Baltor in season 3. I recently started watching the seasons over again cause I found them all pretty awesome. But yeah Bloom is my favorite and in my opinion the strongest.
I just love talking superpowers. I still can't get enough of this topic, even if it is old. Okay, so by "strongest" there are waaaay too many different definitions:
You can be a strong-willed or strong-spirited person (like Bloom) and everything you do blows everyone else out of the water, so to speak.
Or your elemental or fairy power could be the strongest due to raw attack power. I tend to think Musa's sonic powers are still the strongest of the 6 girls (as mentioned and elaborated upon in an earlier post).
Then there are powers that are latent, that we haven't even seen the capacity of their destructive capabilities yet. Such as the unseen abilities of each fairy. For example, Stella mostly uses light attacks, balls of energy, but is she really delving into the full potential of her powers? What else can you do with light? Can you remove it from a room, causing everyone to go blind? Can you cause the sun to burn or explode? (Not that she would want to, of course, but the potential is there...) She has the potential to be very destructive, but then again, she would never use that side of her powers. Unless mind-contolled by Darcy...eeks?
Typically we all will say that Bloom is the strongest, but I think that is more a testament to her strong character and will. And maybe a little to the fact that she has the Great Dragon Fire within her. But if she and Aisha/Layla had a grudge match, and they were both at their strongest, I wonder if Bloom would lose against water? Just a thought.
So just because Bloom is the main character doesn't necessarily mean she has the strongest power. Fire has a lot of weaknesses. Put her up against an Air bender and the oxygen could be sucked right out of the room and she would have no ability to make fire. (Unless again we are saying that her fire is magical and does not need oxygen.)
And because of these weaknesses I continue to say look beyond the main character. Not because Bloom is weak, but because there is so much potential in the powers of the other girls. Raw elemental power will never be Bloom's strong points. Fire itself is not exactly the strongest. But SHE is strong, and that makes her power stronger. There are other stronger elements that exist, but maybe it's a matter of who tames them.
Interesting I do think given Blooms powers worked in space its safe to say air is not needed. Unless you assume powers are modified by the current transformations, so when in space its a Cosmix version (Cosmix Dragon fire if you would).
While I think it would be interesting to see if Stella could remove light however given dark is seen as a more Witch power I doubt it will ever happen.
Ahh, yes, I think that might clinch the fire theory Marty. The Dragon Fire definitely works in the vacuum of space (along with their lungs, ha), so I think it's safe to say Bloom has a magical type of fire.
Yeah, I'm not sure that's plausible in the magic universe for Stella to remove light either. And she'd probably have to go witch before she could even attempt it. It reminds me of so many Avatar: the Last Airbender theories, like could Aang (air bender) remove oxygen from a person's lungs or blood stream or could Katara (water bender) remove water from a person's body.
This makes me wonder about how each of the six girls' powers would change were they to go "Dark" though.
