Why?

The reason is 2D and 3D will cost money (likely to be a fairly substantial cost) to produce and its unlikely that the other version will have a big enough effect on winx popularity to justify the cost. So if its unlikely that they will recoup the benefit through sales of DVDs, dolls, comics etc. They won't do it.

Uhm, it will ALL cost money. And it's not as if Partly CGI or full CGI cartoon series aren't there.

I know that I am saying doing both (2D and 3D) will cost more money than just doing the season in one format.

I dunno, I've seen some smaller shows doing it before (Code Lyoko, Galactik Football), and I doubt they have more money to spend then such a succesfull franchise as Winx.

Most probably not but I think are opinions will have to differ on this. Also don't forget that rainbow is tring to expand rapidly with the theme park and new shows, combined with the economic problems especially in the Eurozone, its going to be harder and/or more expensive to raise external finance. So this could but a squeeze on budgets (most probably unlikely as the whole thing is most probably financed already).

CGI is not as expensive anymore. In fact, from what I hear, sometimes it's cheaper.

Maybe it will be both with like the transformations in cgi or something similar to code lyoko? Since I keep hearing 2D and 3D? I dunno, just a guess.

Both because I remember the Winx Club Facebook page saying "The Winx will go to the Omega dimension where everything turns into something else" (I forgot the exact words -_-). Plus the first Bloom Sirenix image(s) are in 2D.

I love both 2D and 3D, and seems that their 3D is getting better (watch the new rainbow movie trailer they posted on youtube recently.) Straffi used to worked for his passion, but right now I feel that it's money he's concerning now.

I dunno, maybe because I'm old skool, and have watched rainbow's 2D animation since young. I still need time to get used to their "moving to CGI and to earn tons of money" concept.

Joy I am afraid that money talks in business and he needs money to fund his plans. Winx can achieve that

I think everything turns that way eventually, such as music starts off as a passion and once someone is successful and knows they are popular, they kind of sell out.

Not really sure if thats what Ignio is doing, I just hope that the 3d scenes make sense and aren't just there to be there.

[size="4"][/size] THE MOVIE WERE ACTUALLY DONE BOLD BECAUSE IF THEY WERE DONE 3D THEY WOULD POP UP .BUT THEY DONT THEY ARE ACTUALLY MADE INTO A SOLID FIGURE. ^.^

Yes, it was not Real D 3D where the images pop out of the screen and you wear glasses like say The Amazing Spiderman. But the animation styles are different because in the tv show, there are only two dimensions to them while in the movies they look more round and there are more shadows, making them look more real.
