Magix Club's Forum _ Ideas _ Making the Forum More Active

Posted by: Abby Jan 26 2012, 12:47 AM

So I know a lot of us are busy with school, work, and life in general and it is hard to get on here sometimes. And I know winx club has died out in a lot of areas (well it did in the us for a while, thus my getting less interested in it a few years ago) but now that it is showing on Nick again and they are going to be redubing the first movie and the 4th season, I feel like winx club can get popular again.

It would be awesome to see this forum really active again and have new members who are just getting into winx to discuss the new episodes with etc. It makes me sad to see some of the last posts in threads were already months ago when there used to be new posts every single day.

Any ideas on how to go about doing this? Or am I just being too hopeful?

Posted by: mightymarty2 Jan 26 2012, 9:08 AM

I think most if not all would like the forum more active. However I don't think it will work too well without a new season comming out or the movie/season 4 being shown in the US. As activity always increases around the debut of a new series movie, during the time people are viewing at and a little bit afterwards.

Advertising, looking for (active) affiliates could help. =)

Are there anymore big winx fansites left that would do advertising you think?

And that's true marty, but I'm sure the movie will air on nick sometime within the next couple months so hopefully we can get advertising or word out before and around that time.

Hmm, there aren't that many left, but non-winx sites could help too. icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe we could advertise on Caution or A Thousand Fireflies? I'm not too sure what we would fall under since we aren't an RPG site per se, but maybe. I'll look into it.

Thanks! I think it would be a good idea to contact those websites too Sen, I just don't really know if I have the right away to do that since I'm not one of the owners and this isn't my site to really advertise.

Posted by: winxclubrox23 Jan 30 2012, 1:36 AM

So Caution has a Fan-site section, so I suppose we could advertise there.

Posted by: bloom_daphne Jan 30 2012, 5:48 AM

I don't we're being too wishful. MC can definitely become more active again! Feel free to advertise on behalf of MC, and if you need any help with buttons/banners/graphics, please let me know -- I'd love to help!

Posted by: Abby Jan 31 2012, 5:01 AM

We could probably use a new button or two since the one I have is like the original one I'm pretty sure. But I'll get on with contacting the websites Sen listed asap!

Posted by: DeadInside Jan 31 2012, 10:52 AM

(Surprise, im still here)

As a non requested opinion...
I really don't think that advertise in other sites is a key answer, there is about 2000 people registered here and almost everyday some more joins in yet still no major activity (and the the only activity always comes from the same people) so i think that there is a problem of "content" not of people flow... IMO

Posted by: Abby Jan 31 2012, 11:56 PM

Well the whole basis of the forum is winx club so I don't really know why we would change the content or why so many people would be joining if they didn't like the content. I think the forum is pretty diverse with other categories that aren't winx related too so I don't know how else we could branch out more. Any ideas?

Posted by: DeadInside Feb 1 2012, 5:52 AM

I wasn't suggesting a change in the content itself, just pointing that the lack of activity seems to be the lack of interest of the people on participate on the topics in discussion more than the lack of people in the site.

It seems to me that nothing motivate the users to post stuff in here anymore, and thats what must be changed, it is worthless to make a lot of people come here for a while if no one post anything.

Posted by: bloom_daphne Feb 2 2012, 7:50 AM

It seems as though whenever I log in that there are 70+ "guests" viewing the forum. Perhaps, we ought to make the forum accessible only by membership? Or maybe, by invitation?

- We could host contests.

We're thinking of relaunching MC's website. Do you think that would encourage visitors?

Posted by: mightymarty2 Feb 2 2012, 8:49 AM

I think the website would encourage visitors but I doubt it would have a great deal of effect on the forum in terms of activity

Posted by: dreamywinxgirl94 Feb 2 2012, 10:12 PM

Maybe it would be nice to make Magix Club Forum as Private? Only members can login to see all the topics? Maybe those guests who are looking for new information from Winx Club have to login to see the info. I don't know it's up to whoever owns the Forum. =)
(Some topics here were personal..by an accident because it's viewed for the public, guests can see it)

I miss the wonderful original website of Magix Club. =/ It would be nice to bring it back up again. ^_^ Yep, it would encouge visitors too. DreamyWinx.6x.to or DreamyWinx.co.nr (2nd Domain in case 6x.to doesn't work for you) which is my site will be glad to add Magix Club as Affiliates or Advertisement. =)

Oh and having Affiliates would help as well.

Posted by: Kaylin Feb 4 2012, 7:27 PM

I'd love to have MC as an affie on my site, as well. ^^

Posted by: Abby Feb 4 2012, 9:15 PM

That would be great if you could add the forum as an affiliate on your sites Kaylin and Rita!

I think bringing the actual site back would probably help a lot, as well as making the site not open since I also see that there are usually a lot of guests coming on.

As for the content, I'm not sure how we could motivate people to post more. Winx is becoming more popular in N. america or will be soon when the dolls are released and the movie sometime this year. But a big portion of the forum is not from N. America too so there should usually always be something to talk about or discuss.

Posted by: Abby Feb 12 2012, 7:52 PM

I tried to send an pm to you guys (Kaylin and Rita) but I'm not sure if it went out. In case it didn't here is the only button I could still find from before for magix club if you would like to use it to link to the forum!

Posted by: dreamywinxgirl94 Feb 26 2012, 4:30 AM

Just to let you know, Dreamy Winx is already Affiliates with Magix Club now. =)

Posted by: Abby Feb 26 2012, 11:50 PM

Thanks! I have noticed we've been getting a lot of new members recently, so hopefully we are getting hits from your website and can be more active!

Posted by: bloom_daphne Aug 20 2012, 4:05 AM

Alright. I haven't access to the main website, but I do have the original files! I'll register a new domain and host the original website there.

Now sorry if I'm waffling or something....
Secondly, as mentioned by Abby we need a new button. We can host a contest to rectify that situation. In addition I can design a few.
Thirdly in order to make the site more interactive, we need to engage our visitors. I was thinking of holding a few contests... Abby's (Winx Spies) giveaways were an excellent idea.

I think we just need to generate a ton of ideas and go forward from there. I've looked through previous threads and have started to take diligent notes.

Posted by: Abby Aug 21 2012, 3:50 PM

Competitions are always a great way to bring people in! Of course advertising is another big thing.

Posted by: Sen Aug 27 2012, 12:09 PM

Competitions could be lots of fun! =D Now that season 5 started, more sites are getting active again, hopefully this'll also be the case for MC ^_^

Posted by: Nebbia Nov 29 2012, 3:19 PM

I agree with MusaCake. I kinda magically find it after I Google 'Winx Club Role Play' and the forum was in the second place in the list LOL! before any other forum sites

Posted by: MusaCake Dec 6 2012, 12:45 PM

I found this site while I was on YT and found the link to here.

I kinda agree. So far this forum is rather organize compare to all the other sites I have seen. Another reason why joined this forum

Posted by: sweetmusa Feb 13 2013, 9:44 PM

Wouldn't advertising on winx-affiliated groups on facebook also work? icon_confused.gif

Posted by: dixie6 Mar 3 2013, 7:20 PM

I'm going to become a member of a website called kidzworld.com. I will promote Magix Club on there. Hopefully, we will get more users! :)

We just need to find a way to get interest in it again, make new buttons and get word around to fansites. The problem is I don't know what the biggest winx fansites are right now, and most of them already have their own forum so there would be no point spreading word there.

Posted by: earth123 Apr 28 2013, 7:39 PM

Well, the idea of the +16 forum turned to be a dryhole......interesting that compared to other forums, it tends to be the most active....not saying anything though

yes it could, I'll look into it. I feel like we wouldn't get too high on the list though since we aren't that active in the first place.

what about a contest?

I have a Tecna basic doll that can be used as a prize.

what about giving the forum a facelift, just update the banner and background and things like that

Posted by: Abdu 6b Dec 13 2013, 4:38 AM

I still wonder sometimes why the forum became inactive anyway

Posted by: winxclubrox23 Dec 13 2013, 5:41 AM

I think it really boils down to the fact that a lot of the people who were the core active group are just involved with time consuming things now, which just goes along with getting older, like work and college and such.

Posted by: musa225 May 21 2014, 1:16 PM

I also think that a banner/theme change would help, Believix is like 5 transformations ago

Posted by: Abby Jun 26 2014, 1:35 AM

It's just hard to keep active with college and work now. Plus it is also hard when winx club isn't as popular in my home country anymore at least. It seems to have its highs and lows, and it is hard for me to keep up with the show and anything new that might come out.

A change in the banner might make it look nicer and more updated, but we still need more traffic and regular visitors to make the forum truly active again. I am not sure how to do that, especially because I find it hard to stay active myself.

Posted by: mightymarty2 Jun 27 2014, 7:33 AM

It is a problem as it used to be that a lot of our active members were from the US and Nick seems to be making a mess of showing winx.

Posted by: musa225 Jun 28 2014, 1:25 PM

This is very true, that is a good point

Posted by: lalande Jul 1 2014, 6:36 AM

Yes I agree, When Nick doesn't show Winx Club there's nothing really to come on and talk about. At this point, I myself have gotten very inactive and don't seem to make a big deal of Nick not showing Winx as it used to be. I mean I care but it's just not a passion anymore. Yeah but a change in banner would kinda change the website and give us something new to look at. I actually recommended that a while ago and nothing happened so...

Posted by: Sen Jul 13 2014, 5:20 PM

Getting the forum known on social media would definitely help a lot. Since that's where most of today's information, discussions, ... happen.

Posted by: Abdu 6b Jul 25 2014, 4:54 AM

I agree, maybe a FB page would help
