OK, so there's this guy I like. I've known him for a couple of years now, since he's in PEGS too and all and there's only about...11 of us?
Anyway, I've had this HUGE crush on him ever since the end of 4th grade {first year after I met him}. Now, I need help in 2 areas, the second a little more important than the first.
1. It's been bugging me all year that Emmy and Sam and Ruby and Wayne have started going out, and they had no problem telling the other how they felt {OK, so the EmmyxSam thing was just basically them both saying one day, "Let's be going out!"}. HOW DO I GO ABOUT THIS?! I mean, whenever I get an opportunity to say anything, I go and ruin it to avoid embarassing myself {most recent being on a field trip, when we were asking each other, if we HAD to choose, which one of our friends we'd marry. I mean, I picked him, but I added on the words, "because I hate him the least." Dx}
2. {most importantly} I'm afraid he doesn't like me back--actually, I think he has a crush on my best friend.

Any advice?

I think you should just go for it, and tell him how you feel. Even if he doesn't feel the same way, you'll just feel worse about it if you keep it bottled up, trust me.

And as for the second problem, if you do tell him that you like him, and it turns out that he really does like your best friend, talk to her, and see how she feels about it. If she likes him back, you may be a bit hurt in the beginnning, but you'll feel better knowing your best friend found someone she likes.

So take the problems one step at a time, and for now, just tell him the truth about how you feel. Don't worry about what happens after that. Who knows, he might like you too.

Just curious, but he must be as mature as you are? If so then he should be able to handle the "do you like me too?" and "want to try going on a date?" questions. I think if you talk to him about this, seriously, and just ask him what he thinks, without him feeling like he's pressured, whether or not he says "yes" or "no" you shouldn't be hurt in the end. You can even add at the end "if not, I'd still like to be friends" and maybe throw in a joke. And like Jahnavi said, you could ask your friend before you go and confront him, to make sure she doesn't like him as well.

i agree to what zhanneel and jahnavi said. just ask him. you'll never know if he likes you if you don't ask him. but make sure he's mature about that type of stuff.
i hope everything goes well annie. be strong. one day you'll find that special someone.
and ask your friend how she feels about him.
hope i help. ^_^

~It woooorrrkkkeeeeddd~~!

KK, so Lizzie had a party today, as an end-of-school and thank-god-it's-finally-not-cold party, and I just went and said it.
And it worked. A great way to start the summer, amiright?

Yay, I'm glad it worked out for you. And, if you don't mind telling us, what did he say?

Drop little hints,
The way me and my ex boyfriend broke the ice was by
when he graduated I wrote in his yearbook
"Have fun in highschool" and I wrote my telephone.
He called and we just started talking from there.
Try to be a close friend for now, talk to him every chance you get (but don't be annoying =])
I am sure things will pick up from there.
