I really liked it, I'm actually watching it for like the fifth time right now. It just happens to be playing, hahaha.
I actually love all the new voices, though Bloom could probably get a bit better. I thought the acting was significantly better than the 4Kids acting was, and the script wasn't as painfully cheesy. true, the voices aren't as distinct as the the 4Kids voices, but I'd take good acting over distinct voices any day. I'm also very interested in how the voice actresses for the Winx actually look like the characters. after the live action Fairly Odd Parents movie this weekend, I'm kind of hoping for a live action Winx Club from Nick starring the actual voice actresses.
I know a lot of people are complaining about the animation change, but I like it. While I don't love flash animation, Winx actually did it very well. I also feel like the first season was animated very poorly, so I like that it was re-animated. they took something that I felt was incredibly lack-luster, and made it very glamorous. I love the new transformation sequence, though Bloom is still stuck with the most boring one which I don't really like. I'm very interested in seeing how Charmix will be handled in the season 2 specials, since their regular fairy forms are now called Charmix.
the only thing I didn't like is how they decided to focus most of the special on the one episode of Winx Club where the girls don't have magic. For a show about magical girls, it's strange to have them powerless for half of the first special. I would have much preferred them to focus on the party from episode three, or when they had to go into that magic swamp. I'm excited for the next special though, since it's featuring Diaspro and I've always liked her. I also really like the girl who's playing her voice, so that'll be fun.

I guess my biggest problem is the whole story plot element because I agree with you about the lines not being as cheesy as the 4kids version and the acting being a tad better. It makes it easier for me to watch without cringing!

Most likely that the original Charmix will not make an appearance. It's too insignificant in the series and appeared only in the last 5-4 episodes of season 2, then get tossed away in season 3.

QUOTE (winxclubrox23 @ Jul 14 2011, 05:58 PM) The voices were okay. I was disappointed in a few, but the specialists were far better than I expected.
The thing that bothered me the most was how they dropped the idea of Brandon and Sky switching identities. That was such a big part of season one, and I know they were limited on time, but come on. So yeah, I joined the forum basically to talk about this special. Haha I feel much the same way. I know they were trying to fit a lot in a short space of time but really, I'd rather they space it out more, even if it takes three or four specials. They cut out filler stuff, great, but they also cut out plot points and stories. Not to mention the quick pace makes the characters seem more...shallow? With their sudden friendship. And I hate the voice acting, period. The Specialists, Trix and adults had good VAs but the Winx...the actually STARS did not. There are two parts of voice acting; the VOICE and the ACTING. I'm sorry but you can't have one without the other. And to me even their acting needs work. Bloom is so...bleh. It's really bad when all five members of the Winx girls sound pretty much the same. But I will try and hold out and see what happens. I like the better script for sure, too many songs but I liked the opening song.

I like the Nick Special, I do... But it seriously lacks a lot of content. I don't see it working out in the long run... For example, that Winx isn't their magic anymore... It's just they're name... Bloom pulls it out of that air, like it's nothing... I know in the 4Kids version, the girls always say "Use Your Winx" or some variation... It'll be interesting to see if they use those lines... I also enjoy that its tradition to clean the castle... In the 4ids version, it's a punishment. Personally it makes no sense... And Brandon and Sky not switching places! .... I just finished watching the 4Kids version over and watching this and the scene/dialogue differences is really interesting... Especially in the first 5 mins of the Nick Special. :)
