In The dirtiest part of Bronx, New York lies The Gunther Orphange. Which has a reputation for being one of the most strict and abusive orphanges around. It's rare that any child get adopted from the orphange, but every once in a while a child does. Today is Mercedes first day, after having her family die in a house fire. Making her way around the orphange, she saw that the floors were dirty, walls were peeling and had this disgusting odor that smelled like bananas and pee.

Name: Mercedes
Age:15
Personality: Mercedes has a mellow personality, it was like that before and after the accident. But now she is going to be more reserved.
Appearence:
Life Before the Orphange: Mercedes attended regular high school for dancing, but often couldnt keep up to the standards of everybody else because of her home life affecting her performances. Her family went bankrupt and her father abandoned them, which really hurt mercedes. Her mother eventually found a new boyfriend, who was quite abusive. He would always verbally abusive mercedes which brought down her confidence alot. Then one day a fire broke out and everybody died except for her.
Reason For being in the Orphanage: Recently came to the orphange after her house burned down. Some think she started the fire, but infact she was never there. Honestly, she was happy when her family was gone, but then she realized she was lonely. Mercedes childhood wasnt the best, hopefully by going to the orphange she will find a nice family to stay with.

Name: Margaret
Age: 15
Personality: Margaret is an extreme perfectionist, and rarely accepts help from anyone. She's very protective of Jenna and doesn't know what she would do without her.
Appearance: Margaret has shoulder length, dark auburn hair and tons of freckles. which she loathes. She has hazel eyes and is 5'4"
Life Before the Orphange: Before arriving at the orphanage, Margaret lived in a very high class part of New York, with her parents and 7 month old sister, who she loved very much. She'd always want to hold and play with her, and didn't ever want to go anywhere without her. She was also doted on by her parents, who would do anything for their daughters. They were very much, the perfect family.
Reason For being in the Orphanage: When Margaret was 4 years old, her house mysteriously caught on fire one night. Margaret was rescued by the fire department, and became the only survivor. Since she had no live relatives, Margaret was left in the Guther Orphanage. Heartbroken over the death of her family, she had a hard time adjusting to life in the orphanage. 4 years later, a baby arrived at the orphanage. Nameless and alone, Margaret named her Jenna and cared for her as a sister. Because of this, Jenna grew up believing that Margaret was her real sister. Margaret still hasn't had the heart to tell her.

Personality: Jenna is a full blown optimist. She can find the bright side in any situation, and is always looking out for Margaret.
Appearance: Jenna has short, dark brown hair. She has dark brown eyes and is extremely tall for her age, only 3 inches shorter than Margaret at 5'1''
Life Before the Orphanage: Nothing is known about Jenna's past before the orphanage, as she was abandoned.
Reason For being in the Orphanage: Jenna arrived at the orphanage when she was a few months old. As long as she can remember, Jenna has had Margaret. Even though they look nothing alike, and it's obvious to everyone except Jenna that their related, Jenna still thinks that Margaret is her only family.

Age: 10
Personality: Withdrawn, shy, hardly ever speaks. And if he does, you'll notice his speech is to mature and flat for a kid his age.
Appearance: A small Asian boy in simple, slightly damaged clothes.
Life Before the Orphange: Shinji came from an abusive house-hold. His father beat him up and his mother just let it happen, this resulted in him being very weary and mistrusting of people, developing a cynical edge at a young age.
Reason For being in the Orphanage: Child services got him out of his house, but couldn't find a suitable foster home.

Name: Jay
Age: 14
Appearance: On the tall side and average weight for his age. He has brown eyes and a black buzz cut.
Life Before the Orphange: A typical teenage life. He had a sister who was a few years older than him, and he went to highschool. He was a decent student, and didnt get in trouble alot though he had a sense of adventure hidden deep within him.
Reason For being in the Orphanage: There was a violent home invasion one night where 4 masked men broke into his house. They killed his parents and he couldnt do anything about it. When he tried to stop them from killing his sister they tied him up and tortured him, killing her before his eyes and then leaving him to die. He was rescued however after the men fled when the police arrived. After being treated for his injuries he was sent to Gunther Orphanage. All that remains of the massacre is the scar of a slash across his chest, and vivid memories which haunt him constantly. The masked men were never caught.
Personality: Used to be really outgoing and with lots of friends. After what happened, he became a lot more to-himself, and lost touch with those few friends who stuck by him. Now he's generally friendly on the outside but deep down he's permanently crushed, which is a side he very rarely shows.
Other: Despite knowing he did eveything he could, the events of that night repeatedly play through his head and he is constantly thinking about what he should have done, could have done differently, etc. He hates himself for being the only survivor when the rest of his family didnt make it. He is also constantly debating to himself what he would do if he ever encountered those men again, and whether he himself should go looking for them. His biggest secret is that he knows where he could find the men. They had let something slip, and for reasons even he's not sure about he did not tell the police. He is in denial about the fact that deep down he knows the reason why; he had saved them for himself, saved them for when he gets the right chance for revenge.

Age: 16
Personality: Takes care of the younger kids but is truly just angry and wishes he could help the kids more
Appearance: JT has a scar across both his wrists which he hides with a cheap watch and a sweat band. normaly wears black baggy pants and a black tee-shirt with a red disign on it, usually something to do with his mood.
Life Before the Orphange: he was contantly abused and the day before he was sent to the orphanage, he turned 3 and his mother cut both his wrists aswell as hers, he survived but she didnt.
Reason For being in the Orphanage: Abuse, abandomment, and his mother died after his dad left.

Age: 16
Personality: Estelle was always the perfect daughter but when she was sent to the orphanage, she became more rude towards men and more withdrawn but she has a soft spot for childern in the orphange
Appearance:
Life Before the Orphange: Estelle had a wonderful life loving mother and father and a little brother, whom she always spent time with.
Reason For being in the Orphanage: Estelle's father came home one night drunk, her mother got on his case about it. So her father took a knife and killed her to shut her up. Estelle's brother was crying so her father killed him tried killing Estelle then himself. She has a scar along her right shoulder that leaves her remebering that night. Because of that she has a hate towards men.

[NICE NOW LETS START THIS THING]

Mercedes was given a tour of the orphanage,"Here we have the Main Room, where the children come watch tv, play games and do whatever else that amuses them" said the Director. All Mercedes saw was dirty walls, ripped up carpets, and small children passing a ball back and forth.

As they made there way into the bedrooms, Mercedes jaw dropped. There was nothing but barefloor and bunk beds everwhere at least 12 in the small room. The director was talking, but she didnt pay any attention. With her bags in her hands she continued to follow the director until they reached her bed. Mercedes was skeptical about putting her bags on the bed, because she saw flies and all other types of bugs. "Dinner will be served in a couple of hours, there is a basket ball court outside" with that The Director walked off. Mercedes took a deep breathe, and sat on the bed.

Shinji sat in the main room, just.... sat. He didn't play, and just looked around. When someone new was introduced, he looked up slightly and gave his 'Death-stare'. It wasn't even as if he was trying to look creepy. It was just.... built in.

Jay had been lying down in his bed when Mercedes had entered. He got up onto one elbow to see who the new person was. Seemed to be a girl about his age. Oh well, nothing special there, there wasnt exactly any shortage of them. Most of the time if he were to talk to someone, they would have to start the conversation, and he kept by that policy here too.

Mercedes just looked around at the children, nobody gave her the welcoming speech. She got up and silently walked into the bathroom, "oh my god!" she said entering the bathroom; it was disgusting bugs everywhere and the fact that the bathroom looked like it hasnt been clean for months."wow, just wow"

Jay shook his head. He remembered when he had first came to the orphanage and how horrible it was just to be an orphan, but even worse to like in this stanky place. He got up and went up to her. "Whats your name?" he asked.

After listening to the kids talking about the cleaning, it was pretty safe to say that there really wasnt much cleaning going on. Somebody said it gets worse and she took another deep breathe. However, she did hear somebody ask for her name,"My name is mercedes" she answered. As much as she wanted to come off nice, certain people seemed to be trying to give her attitude

Margaret sighed, as she stared out the window. Well, this was it. Exactly 11 years to the day. She'd been at the orphanage for 11 years.

"Margaret?"

Margaret glanced towards the door, and smiled. "Hi Jenna,"

"Are you okay?" Jenna asked.

Margaret nodded. "Yeah."

"There's new orphans," Jenna said, as she slipped her cold hand into Margarets's.

"Really?" Margaret asked. Not that it was new or anything.

Jenna nodded. "Yeah. We should go meet them."

Margaret sighed again. "If we must."

JT sighed and looked over at the two "hey jenna and Margaret.. wanna play some basket ball with us? its not like there is anything else to do in this ugly ass house, i only got half an hour before i go to..." he looked aorund the room "before i go to work" if he had told the older parents, they would try to take his money from him so he kept it a secret, it wasent always easy, mostly since he worked at night.

Name: Kyle
Age: 14
Personality: Kyle uses his happy-go-lucky personality to hide his true feelings about things. He is sarcastic and is always trying to help Margret. He is always looking for a fight and loves to argue.
Appearance: Kyle has brown hair, icy blue eyes, he is stands at 5'11 and wears a purple hoody with ratty jeans.
Life Before the Orphange: Kyle's parents were dating when they had him. Kyle's father, a well known drug dealer was always extremely abusive towards Kyle. When his parents broke up when he was 5, his father refused to sell Kyle's mother anymore drugs, so she left, and his father became even more abusive. When Kyle was 6, his father was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of heroin and other charges for child abuse.
Reason For being in the Orphanage: Kyle arrived at the orphanage shortly after his father went to jail. He's extremely sensitive about it, and hasn't told anyone why he's there. Though he mostly keeps to himself, Kyle goes out of his was to annoy Margaret, who always gives him a reaction. Especially when he calls her "Red". He's always liked her, but Margaret has made her feeling for him very clear: She absolutely loathes him.


Kyle snuck up behind Margaret. "Hey Red, miss me?" He said cocking his head, and flashing her on of his famous grins.

Life Before the Orphange:Her mother died when she was young, so she was raised by her father, who was an alcholic, and he beat her regularly, and she tried to put on a brave face at school
Reason For being in the Orphanage:
Finally when she was 5, her father was found to be an unfit parent, after a teacher saw her with bruises, and even though they often did, this teacher finally put w and 2 together and reported him, after asking Haylie about it. Haylie had no living relatives so she went to the orphanage

At first the questioning didnt bother her, but now she started to feel uncomfortable. "Nevermind Jay," she said getting up and walking outside to the basketball court. Maybe some fresh would help calm her down.

Margaret frowned. What? Almost the exact same thing had happened to her, yet nobody had batted an eye when she arrived here. What made Mercedes so special to get all this attention? Well, it was pretty rare for someone to arrive when they were over 10... 'Stop it Margaret,' she thought. 'Your jealous for no reason.'

Age: 16
Personality: Leah's not exactly shy, but more of a reserved person. She's not very social for the simple reason that she's never had any real friends. She doesn't get angry easily would rather avoid a fight, but at the same time, she's not afraid to get her hands dirty if she needs to. Her approach towards others is simple: she treats them the way they treat her. She doesn't always realize it, but she's brave, and she's always ready to stand up for what she believes in.

Life Before the Orphanage: Leah remembers almost nothing of her life before she came to the orphanage, because she came here when she was about two years old. She's often heard that she came from an affluent family, but she doesn't know many actual facts about her past.
Reason For being in the Orphanage: Leah's parents were killed in a car crash, when she was very young. She miraculously survived, with just a small scar over her left eyebrow. She still doesn't know who brought her to the orphanage, and hopes that she has some kind of surviving biological relatives out there. ))

Personality: Jaden is stubborn, headstrong tomboy who opinionated. This gets her into trouble. Any other time, she is pretty reserved, respectful, easygoing, and docile if nothing offends her. She also detests being called weak in any aspect and loves to prove people wrong. Being looked down upon rather it be her gender or background makes her mad. Thus, she wishes that she was born as a boy instead. When Jaden looses his temper, the grudge can continue for some time.

Appearance:
Height - 5'5
Weight - 100 lbs.

Life Before the Orphange: Jaden has no idea who her parents were or what her past life was. Before she was sent to the Orphanage, she lived with middle-aged lady named Gloria who she considered as her mother. However, she knew that she was left by her real parents in a middle of a mountain pass as an infant and though she was meant to die, she was saved by a traveling merchant. It was then that she was given to Gloria. It is said that the merchant gave her the name Maya. For her whole life, Jaden wanted to find the merchant for saving her and for giving her opportunity to live.

Reason For being in the Orphanage: At twelve Gloria died by getting shot by a escaping criminal for having witnessed his crime. Jaden was then sent a relative who died a eight months after receiving her. The reason was a car crash. It was that child services started to believe that Jaden was bad luck. After that, Jaden was sent to two other people who coincidentally died. One of them was young couple who wanted children. They died in a fire. Jaden had wished to die to with them but they unwillingly pleaded for her to escape and live for them for they were already half-dead. She stayed with them for ten months. The second person Jaden was sent to was an middle-aged man who was supposed to be a long distant uncle. This man was a politician. He treated Jaden well even though at work, he accumulated many enemies. This man died of murder. Jaden stayed with this man for four months. Now Jaden is fourteen and sent to the orphanage.

Jaden looked through the window at the surrounding of his new home. This time, hopefully it wouldn't change. "We're here," the driver told her.

"Thank you." This time Jaden would protect this place. It definitely wouldn't be burned down and the people around her wouldn't die. No rumor was going to beat her down. But as Jaden looked at the house, it seemed rather rundown and uninviting.

Personality: Mary Anne (who prefers to be called Mary) is quiet and shy with strangers, but when she gets to know them better, she relaxes and gets crazy. She's friendly, loyal and loving and tries to be good with people, although sometimes she can get mean. She's hot-headed, but won't get into fights easily; if one manages to hit her where it hurts though, she will most probably bring chaos to their lives.
Appearance: She's shorter and thinner than most teenagers. She's got a round face, dark brown eyes and long, dark brown hair. Her skin is a bit dark.
Life Before the Orphanage: The reason she got in an orphanage after all, was because her parents had died in a car accident four years ago, when she was ten. She did have relatives but they were too old to take care of her, thus considered unavailable.
Reason For being in the Orphanage: Before she came to the Gunther Orphanage, she was at some other orphanage. However they sent her away because she had done several pranks to one of the people working there.

Mary Anne entered the orphanage. Next to her walked a tall, old lady, who was squeezing the girl's hand into hers hatefully. The woman - who owned the orphanage Mary Anne was in for four years - looked at the teenage girl in disgust and pleasure at the same time.
"I wonder if you will act the same way here," Mrs. Johnson said with an evil smile.
"I will, if the people here are as ugly as Mrs. Green, back at your place," Mary Anne said smiling. She'd never forget the look in Mrs. Green's face when she sat on a pin that had, all of a sudden, appeared on her chair.
Mrs. Johnson grimaced. "You think you can do whatever you want, right little girl?" The old lady squeezed Mary Anne's hand harder, hurting the girl. "Well, you're wrong."

Mrs. Johnson pushed Mary Anne in the main room. The girl fell on her knees and looked at the woman in a way that screamed 'I-want-to-punch-you-to-death'. Not caring about the people in the main room, Mrs. Johnson pointed at Mary Anne with her right index finger and said:
"I've talked to the people here about your behavior. You better be nice here, for your own good." Laughing her heart out, Mrs. Johnson headed out of the orphanage.

The food was rather disgusting, it had a smell of dead pig. 1 burnt bisquit, 1 spoonful of vegetables, and a drumstick with strands of blonde hair on it. Jt got out of the shower and dried off before puting on his clothes and a hoddie covering his work shirt, then he did his hair and brushed his teeth and finished getting ready for work.

finishing with a spray of a rather good smelling colone Jt exited the bathroom and re-hid all the things he had bought along with a large amount of money, he never told any one where it was and never planned to.

Mary Anne followed the Director unwillingly. She looked at her bed and sighed as she saw her stuff on it. So this was her new home.



Mary Anne approached the Director and got her so-called meal silently. She sat down as much further from the other children as possible and looked at her food.
"I really should be nice with Mrs. Green," the girl muttered to herself as she bit the bisquit. "Ew," she groaned, swallowing. The food in Mrs. Johnson's orphanage was much better than this.

Jaden let out a sigh and looked at her plain room. It wasn't as bad as she thought it would have been after seeing the other parts of the orphanage. She took a seat on the springy bed and laid out a few of her items from her bag on the bed: a blanket, toothbrush, toothpaste, and other basic items for survival. It was as if she had packed for going on a camping trip.

Name: Mixmi

Age: 15

Personality: Mixmi is an artistic and sensitive girl, but she can always stand up for herself. She's also smart and has occasionally weird mannerisms. She tends to be a bit messy and is unquie when it comes to clothing. She doesn't like feeling alone and she sometimes feels she is a little bit of a ghost to people, but at the same time she can be out-going and be much of an optomist. She's afraid of hights (plus a fear of falling) and darkness. She also has the sense of not belonging.

Appearance: Long Gold Blonde hair that she likes putting into two high ponytails. She has green eyes and white skin. She wears mixed-matched clothing often.

Life Before the Orphange: Mixmi lived in a fairly rich home with her mother, father and twin sister, Milmi. Milmi and Mixmi were the best of friends and were basically identical copies. They both had hamsters - Fizz and Fuzz. They both attended a private-high school. There birth days are both on the 20th of August.

Reason For being in the Orphanage: On the 20th of August, Mixmi's and Milmi's birthday, their mother and father gave them the gift of taking them to France, Mixmi's and Milmi's favourite forgien country. Once the plane took off and was above the sea... A terriost attack took place, the terriosts knocked the pilots senseless and took control of the aeroplane and holded everyone hostage. They soon entered a storm and the terriosts didn't know how to control the aeroplane and they both stupidly switched off both engines. And down went the plane, Mixmi and Milmi held onto eachother tightly as the metal bird pin dived it's lethal dive. Mixmi doesn't remember anything else afterwards, all that remains is scars, her sister's neckacle that broke off in the dive... and a broken heart.

Mixmi glared at her agent, "I hate you," she growled.

"Ha, guess we both can agree on something," the agent casually stated with a smirk across her face.

"You are just doing it for the money," cried Mixmi as tears swelled up in her eyes,"You, you, you PIG!"

The agent rolled her eyes as she turned the corner on the road,"Ah, don't worry dear, the orphanage you are going to is very nice."

"NICE? HA! nice?" she yelled with her fist up in the air, "I'll show you-"

Mixmi suddenly jerked forward and hit her head on the windscreen and jerked back into her seat. They had stopped outside a dodgy looking orphange, it didn't look 'nice' or 'very nice' at all as her agent explained it. She exchanged at dirty look at the driver.

"Bon appettite, dearest," smiled the agent evily.

"Bon appe- what? I am supposed to eat this place?!"

"Ah... at least you won't starve like the others, ta-ta!" she opened the door and literautelly pushed the blonde girl out the car along with her pink suitcase and drove off laughing.

Jaden couldn't go to sleep. She wasn't sure if it was the odd smell that kept her away or the whispering that kept her awake. Trying to go to sleep, Jaden turned in her sleep but that proved worthless. Oh well. Maybe it would be better to not sleep till she was really sleepy. That way, bad dreams didn't come as easily. Jaden sat up and ruffled her short boyish hair. Looking like a boy often proved to make things easier for her. For instance, the number of assaulters lowered because of her appearance.

Mary Anne was about to comment on the lack of activities in the orphanage, when a boy decided that causing some drama would be nice. She blushed; this guy was right. However, he should be nicer, and that thought made her get angry, but she didn't say anything.



Mary Anne smiled. It was good that someone defended her; not that she couldn't do it on her own, but it did feel good anyway.
But that boy didn't stop talking. Who does he think he is? Mary Anne thought angrily, but still didn't try to defend herself. She didn't want to get enemies on her first day here.



Mary Anne grimaced. "He's got to be crazy," she just said. That, or this Shinji-guy thought that everything should revolve around him.
She turned to Martin and smiled shyly. "That was really nice of you," she thanked him sweetly.
