Prologue

Far away, in a land known as the Binary Galaxy’s third vector do we find a peaceful technological city known as Zenith. In a certain house, we find an average family and in one of the rooms, sat a girl.

She wasn’t very young; almost fifteen. Her hair was short and magenta, and she dressed in a green and purple casual midriff top, matching pants, and matching boots. She sat at her PDA, typing. Oh, how wonderful knowledge is. She thought.

Suddenly there was a knock on her door. “Come in,” her mature, British accented voice didn’t hide her annoyance.

“Hey ‘sis,” an older boy said opening the door and walking next to her bed, “why are you still just sitting in your room?”

“Because, Trey,” she quickly replied, “you know that in less than two years, I’ll be going away to fairy school, so it only makes sense I study until then.”

“I know Tecna, but don’t you want to do something besides study or play videogames?”

Tecna shook her head. “It’s my passion in life.”

“Yeah, well you could have another one.” He held his hand up. “You know what, what happened to you enjoying ice skating? You liked it.”

“That was then,” she replied, turned away from him, “and this is now.”

“Well, since you’re up here would you mind…?”

“What did you brake now Trey?” She asked, shaking her head.

“Who said anything about me breaking something?”

She just stared at him.

“Okay, okay. I may have just accidentally broken something downstairs, but you see I had a good explanation and everything little ‘sis.”

“You’re on your own this time,” she laughed.

“What? Why won’t you help?”

“You should be happy that I even have magical powers or that I’ve helped you fix stuff, but not today. And you know little Tammy is gonna tell on you.”

“Please Tec, I need you. If Mom and Dad find out I broke one more thing they’ll kill me.”

Tecna thought about it. It might do her some good to have the opportunity to blackmail her older brother. Why not? It was decided. “Okay. Show me the way.”

Down the elevator they went and into the kitchen area. Trey motioned toward something and his sister groaned.

Of course, Tecna thought to herself, he just had to break that. The instant-magic-menulizer.

Ah, yes. The Instant-Magic-Menulizer(IMML for short). It was their father’s greatest invention for the city of Zenith. It was shaped like that of a common microwave, but at the top was that of a chance to type in whatever food that could be imagined in up to four realms, and it would instantly appear in the microwave-shaped part. It was used all over the planet, and had recently been shipped to one of the realm’s greatest merchandise ports. The name of which, however, Tecna amazingly couldn’t recall at the moment.

“You did this, huh?” Tecna finally asked Trey, sighing.

Her brother nodded, his purple-or was it pink?-hair moving considerably for its length. “Please? I’ll do whatever you want. Promise.”

She sighed. “Okay, but this will take a lot of magic. I guess I’ll have to transform.”

Trey laughed. “Here goes the fairy wings again.” He giggled, recalling her wings.

She gave him an icy cold glare and retorted, “Would you like me to help you or not??” She put an extra punch when she said ‘not’ and her accent did nothing but make her sound more upset.

Trey stopped laughing and his expression turned from that of amusement to shock and fear. “Please,” he responded painfully, “help me ‘sis. I’m sorry. If you don’t, Dad’ll pull me out of school and send me to Red Fountain to teach me a lesson, and he knows I hate heroics. Please..?”

She pondered. Finally she said to him, “Okay.” She looked toward the sky and took a deep breath. To herself, she said, Okay, winx time now. Suddenly her body began to grow the most pure and radiant white color imaginable. If you’d been blinking, when you’d open your eyes, you’d see Tecna in a completely different state.

Her body had metamorphosed into an entirely new way. She wore a lavender suit with power blue sleeves and a matching helmet, along with boots the color of her sleeves. Her wings were not really wings at all. Instead, they were green projections powered by digital energy.

Tecna turned to her brother, hands on hips. “About how much damage would you say you caused to it and how exactly did you break it?”

He scratched his head. “Well, see I was playing baseball and…”

“Point taken,” his sister interrupted, waving her arms. “Okay so this will need a big spell.” She closed her teal eyes, took a short but large breath, focused her winx, and holding out her hands to the IMML did she conjure some of her magic and it began to glow bright green. Tecna grunted and did her best to use more power because, in her mind, if she was going to fix something, it should be fixed well.

Her brother interrupted many times with comments like: “A little to the left, Tec. There’s more damage on the other side.”; “Is that all you’ve got?” Which earned him a glare and blast himself; and “Okay, I think you go it.”

Once he’d said this, did the fourteen-year-old girl sigh and stopped using her magic. She walked over to Trey and crossed her arms in front of him. “What I’ve always wondered, big brother, is how is it that you’re two years older than I am yet I’m the one who’s always getting your butt of trouble!” She said the last line while punching an angry finger into his chest.

“Okay, okay. I get it Tecna, you’re mad,” he took a step back and dusted off his blue shirt. “So, what do I owe you?”

“More than you can imagine,” she replied. As she told him this she rubbed his hair the way he hated it and took off with her wings.

“I’ll get you ‘sis!” He shouted angrily.

“Oh, really,” she answered innocently. “What are you going to do? You owe me, remember.” She flew outside and her followed. She went into their backyard and giggled.

He stopped and Tecna landed back on the ground. She transformed back to her regular self and eyed him. Finally, she smiled. “You’re okay, Trey.”

He smiled too. “You too Tecna.”

“But one thing for you.”

“What?” He was puzzled.

“Never, ever, mess with me,” she answered, pushing him down and ran away childishly.

This is simply the introduction for the real story. It'll help you understand the rest of it better. Any suggestions are perfectly welcome.

Well, since I'm almost done with chapter 2, I thought I might as well post this chapter:

Chapter 1

Nearly five years dramatically passed, and oh boy what had changed after all this time for Tecna.

Just a year after what we’ve just learned about, she went to Alfea, and she’d made five best friends that were better than any she could’ve ever imagined. They all had things she liked about them: Bloom, nice and knew how to cheer everyone up; Stella, though she did insult Tecna from time to time with the fashion comments, she did know how to encourage people(sometimes); Layla, she was, like Tecna, a tomboy and shared in her past of having a hard time making friends; Musa, her best friend of the group. She always knew how to make Tecna happy; and Flora. Flora had helped through times that were hard, like when she’d had a fight with her boyfriend.

Tecna loved them all. Together, they’d formed the Winx Club, and had fought evil forces many times before: Icy, Darcy, and Stormy. A.K.A, ‘the witches’; Lord Darkar, who’d been very hard for he’d had the witches; Baltor, one of their greatest foes of all, for even the power of the water stars wouldn’t stop him. It had been Bloom who’d won; and the Wizards of the Black Circle. They’d had to gain their Believix and find the last fairy of earth to stop him, but they’d succeeded.
of earth to stop him, but they’d succeeded.

The whole time they’d been together, always having fun as friends. No matter what happened, they’d worked together to keep things wonderful.

Tecna now sat at her desk in her house in her hometown of Zenith. This house originally hadn’t been her house. It was a gift from her parents since her father had gotten a better job so they could buy a better home. It was still the same home, but to Tecna, it felt like a completely different place than the house she’d grown up in.

Perhaps it was because she lived alone. Was that it? No, it something other than that. Perhaps it had to do with that she missed her family since they’d all moved away? No, that wasn’t it either. What could it possibly be?

Tecna went onto the internet and looked up the Magix Wide Web and looked at the Alfea website. She wished that she could be back there, but she couldn’t. She smiled. Oh, how wonderful her life with her friends had been. The she paused. Wait a second…

She remembered what had happened. She’d kept it out of her mind for almost a week now, but decided that since she remembered, she might as well write it down. She gently took out paper and sat it down on her desk. She grabbed some pretty colored pens that were her favorite colors such as purple and light blue. (How strange it once was for her; using real paper just to write a story. When she’d first come to Alfea, the idea was silly, but from Bloom she’d learned to enjoy the simple things in life.)

Tecna faced the wall and sighed. “Let’s start from the beginning,” she said aloud.

A short chapter, I know. But the next one will be longer. And from now on, the chapters will be told from Tecna's point of view.

Finally done with chapter 2. It's long, so I split it in two. Here's the first part:

Chapter 2: First Half

My life is just not the same. It’s over. Ruined. Finished. And there’s absolutely, positively nothing that can be done about it.

Sure, my life wasn’t always this way. I once had five best friends, was a teacher at the school I’d attended(Alfea), and had the most loving boyfriend in the whole universe. Oh, how wonderful things were then.

It’s hard to believe it’s only been a week since the day that ruined my entire life happened. It started like this:

One normal day started out. There weren’t any classes to teach that day so my friends and I sat in our quarters and talked.

“You know, let’s go into Magix and have some fun,” Stella suggested. “And maybe some shopping along the way.”

Layla glared at her and rubbed her right arm. “Is shopping all you ever, think about, Stella?”

Stella shrugged, smiling. “Maybe.”

The rest of the girls(including me) laughed hysterically, all except Layla, who shook her head in disgust, which did nothing but make us laugh more.

“So, where should we go?” Flora asked, once we’d calmed ourselves down. “I heard about this new club in downtown. It’s said to have the best music in the realm.”

“For real?” Musa said, “Only I’m the judge of that,” she finished, pointing to herself as she sat cross-legged on the floor.

To me, that was true, and also not true. Musa is the fairy of music, and most of her powers come from musical instruments and beats, so in a figurative sense, she should know how to pick good music. However, that could also insult someone else’s opinion who doesn’t like her music, but I didn’t say anything.

Instead, I suggested, “That sounds nice, but what would we wear?” But as soon as I said it, I immediately regretted my words.

Stella jumped up and pulled out her credit card. “Than we must go shopping, daw-lings. There’s simply no other way.”

I clasped my hand onto my forehead. Oh boy, I thought to myself, here we go. Three…two…one.

“SHOPPING!!!” Most of the other girls shouted at once as they jumped up and raised their arms in the air. At the time I was quite upset that my math was correct, but as usual it was. Though I covered my ears, it still hurt my head to listen to.

They stood still at last after exactly twenty-three point two seconds. “So, Tecna, want to come?” Bloom said, remembering me.

I thought about it. I didn’t have anything to do. What was there to lose? “Sure. Just let me get up, first.”

And off we went into Magix. It took us forever to get to the club(Okay, even I must admit it wasn’t that long. It truly was more like two hours and fifty-eight minutes. -Okay, that’s exactly right.) As soon as we’d gotten into town Stella screamed when she saw that one of the stores was having a big sale.

“Girl’s, we’ve got to go inside here!” She took off running as fast as she could.

Knowing Stella and that there was nothing we could do to keep her away, we all reluctantly followed. I shrugged my shoulders I took light, even steps, and walked inside the store. As expected, I found Stella and the other girls excitedly admiring a new dress that had recently been shipped to the store.

“Oh Tecna,” Stella asked me, gushing, “isn’t that the most beautiful dress you’ve ever seen?”

I turned to it. Eh, it was alright. A short summer dress, with mid-length sleeves, it flared out at the bottom, and was covered in a sparkling pattern. I chuckled to myself, honestly. It look almost identical to a Believix outfit. Hmm…Believix. I don’t even like the sound of the word anymore.

Sure, it was the strongest thing we’d earned on Earth, but it only works if you’re on the planet. I didn’t tell anyone else this, but I was praying who knows how many times for our Enchantix to return. To my luck, it did. Sadly though, it wasn’t as powerful as it was before since our time on Earth had weakened us from gaining Believix.

“So, Flora,” Bloom asked, walking over to her. “Don’t you think that Helia would just adore you in this dress?”

Flora blushed. “I don’t know. Sure, he likes me and all, but Helia can change his mind about a lot of things. You know?”

Bloom nodded understandably, putting an arm around her friend. “Any guy can, Flo, but all you gotta remember is that if he likes you, he’ll like you for who you are, not what you are or wear, get it?”

Flora smiled. “You’re a great friend Bloom.”

Their conversation got me thinking about me and Timmy. Sure, we were in love, but we weren’t exactly showing it. I mean, it’d taken us like three years to even start dating for crying out loud! Now, it’s not like I was complaining, because I was happy with him, but sometimes I wished that he would be the romantic boyfriend I know he is, and not just my science partner.

I sighed as I watched my friends all have a good time when I felt someone tap me on the shoulder. I turned around in surprise. “Oh,” I said, “Musa, it’s…just you.”

Musa grinned. “Thinking about Timmy again?”

I nodded sheepishly. Goodness, I thought to myself, sometimes Musa can read me just a little too well. “How’d you know?”

She touched my shoulder and told me, “You had that look in your eyes.”

I stared at her, puzzled. “What look?”

She smiled. “Come on Tecna. You know, the one where your eyes get all smiley and you start to stop paying attention to what’s going on around you? Ring a bell?”

I gasped in embarrassment and immediately put my hand over my mouth so no one else could notice. Wow. She can read me like a blackboard.

As I stood there, I saw Layla, Flora, Bloom, and Stella walk over to us. They looked a little worried and…Is that curiosity I see on their faces? How dare they. Aren’t they my best friends?

And that's all I'll post for today.

I've read through everything and, well, it's okay, but nothing's really happened so far. And splitting chapters up is usually not as good of an idea as you think; you're taking a chapter with a beginning, middle, and an end and breaking the chapter in half, you end up breaking that sequence. It's okay to post long chapters, the penultimate chapter of my stories here usually clock in at around 6500 words.

I'll give a more in-depth critique once you've posted more.

And, here's the second half:

“What’s going on?” Bloom asked, looking directly at me, then at Musa. Back at me, then at Musa.

“Nothing,” I said. My voice came out all high and squeaky so I tried to cover it up with a fake cough. Though I pretended like it hadn’t happened, on the inside of me I silently scolded myself. What the heck was up with that, Tecna? That wasn’t very logical.

“Tecna, are you sure you’re okay?” Layla inquired, looking at me with a worried expression on her face. “You seem to be acting a bit…What’s the word?…Different.”

“Different!” I exclaimed, my voice all high again. “Who’s different? Not me.” I had to get out of there. “Well, I’ll see you guys later. I’ve got to go…do something. Okay, bye!” I took off running then.

“Tecna wait!” Flora called, chasing after me.

I kept running and didn’t look back. Why should I? They’re never really cared about me anyway except for the time in the Omega Dimension. I paused and just stood there. Oh God. The Omega Dimension. Now why did I have to bring that up?

As I stood there, my friends had just enough time to catch up with me. “Tecna, are you okay? What happened to you back there?” Bloom asked me. She looked concerned for some reason.

“Yeah, did I have something to do with it?” Stella inquired. “And if I did,” she held up her hands before I could respond, “I’m totally completely positively sorry. Forgive me?”

I hate to say it, but Stella’s apology almost made me laugh. It was so utterly pathetic that she expected me to believe that she truly cared whether or not I was happy. She never did anyway, really. It truly was Stella’s lying mouth that almost made me not join the Winx Club, and I’ve wondered ever since if my decision had been right.

Luckily for Stella, it wasn’t exactly her that was getting on my nerves. For once. Instead, for the past few days, I’d just felt like there was something missing in my life. Truly, it was very illogical that I did feel this way since nothing was. I had everything: A group of friends, a job I loved, and a loving boyfriend. What more could a person ask for?

“Of course Stella,” I finally answered. “So, girls, are we going to that club or what?”

Everyone laughed.

“Well, first I just need to buy a few more things!” Stella said, running inside another store.

We laughed again.

“Same old Stella,” Musa said. “No matter how old we get, she’ll never change.”

“And we wouldn’t have it any other way, right girls?” Flora added.

Sure, I had other things on my mind, but who am I to argue with Flora? I mean, after all, she is the queen mediator of the Winx Club.

“That’s right!” We all said. “Because we’re the Winx Club!”

Finally, finally, finally we reached the club. We were all wearing new outfits, and I, for once, was not to pleased about it. I was perfectly fine wearing one of the other outfits, but Stella wouldn’t have it. Strange, it feels as if Stella is the center of my annoyance. Oh well.

We walked inside and there was some pretty nice music playing. There was lots of people dressed like typical people of Magix.(In other words, they made total fools of themselves.)

“This place is totally rad!” Musa exclaimed, starting to dance. “Come on Layla! You’ll love this.”

Layla nodded and joined Musa. Oh, those two. I love them and all, but sometimes I think they’re a little obsessed music and dancing. Oh, who’m I’m kidding? They most certainly are, but I’d never tell them that.

I was feeling awkward as usual when Bloom pulled me over. “You feeling okay, Tec? You don’t seem like yourself today.”

Truly, I didn’t know how to answer that question. Bloom had a point. I’d felt slightly strange ever since I’d woken up this morning. At the time, I’d thought it was just simple fatigue from all the classes I was teaching, but I then knew that it was more than that. Much more. Something big.

“I don’t know,” I finally replied. I tried to make it seem as if it were nothing to me, but somehow there was still a sorrowful echo in my voice.

“Do you want to go back to Alfea? You sound kinda sick, Tecna.”

I shrugged. “I think I’m okay for the time being.”

True to my word, I stuck it out the rest of the night. Around ten o’clock we finally went back to school. I was totally wiped out, and I didn’t know why. What’s wrong with me? I asked myself as I took a nice hot shower. Something about me was off, but no matter how much thought I put into it, I couldn’t put my finger on it.

The other girls started to get worried about me. Flora tried about thirty-seven times to get me to try some of her tea, but I wasn’t having it. Now after last time. I had an allergic reaction and was coughing up fairy dust for a week!

It got so bad, that even Stella noticed something was wrong. “Can’t you like, scan yourself?” She suggested.

I sighed. “I already have. Nothing. My scanners can’t pick up a single thing wrong.”

And that night as I sat on my bed, I stared into space. There is something happening. I just know it. And it’s going to hurt someone, maybe even me
.

Not the best chapter, but the next one will have some for sure action.

Well, we're starting to see that Tecna's becoming quite bitter and all, but there is still a flag that's shooting up.

She complains the only time that her friends cared for her was during the Omega Dimension thing which, if you're going to worry about someone, THAT sorta takes the cake. So what's Tecna really upset about? That she's starting to grow distant from her friends? What is keeping her from just going on her own? Explore these ideas, I'd like to see you look deeper into them.
