I think I won't vote becouse I know these Specialists not enough. Only SKy shows up frequently.He's the main character (from the guys I mean), so I like him instantly, I usually like main roles. From the description on winxclub .com I think I might like Timmy, cause he's into technology, and also Brandon, cause he likes bikes, and it's already close to cars, and I love 1950's cars, so we could have a lot to talk about.

Yeah, Nabu beat all 3 of my favorites. I consider Nabu to be the jerky-stalker type, emphasis on the jerky. He seems waay to self-centered. (my opinion). Sky and Brandon, to me, are too perfect.

i like brandon and riven. I really like riven, because of how hard it was for him to accept that a girl can actually be trusted, and he is still very rough, but musa has had an effect on him, you can tell. I like brandon because hes hot and doesn't treat girls wrong (I get annoyed by the pet names though) Helia is ok, I like his hair! timmy is cute in the nerdy way and how hard he tries to please tecna. I don't really know nabu at all to judge him, and I dislike sky. His hair, his attitude, and every time him and bloom are together, I cringe.

Brandon he's cute, he a perfect guy whom treat girls in a perfect way, so way better than a prince.
Riven I just don't know, he's okay but at first I hate him in season 1. But now I find that he's okay since I can see he really got feelings on Musa this time. (Not like Season 1, so nasty!)
Heila, eeh no offence I don't really like him. Cause I don't know much about him and also he's sometimes too quiet (I hate quiet guy, it makes him like a gay)
Timmy is okay, he's funny and thats all I can say.
Nabu, I hate him for taking away Layla's independence but I have to admit now that he's cute! xD

yeah, I really don't like that the show had to give layla someone to be with, I think her being alone was good for the show to show little girls you don't need a boy in your life to make you be happy, like layla was, but now shes with nabu and that is gone from the show I just hate how the show seems to highlight the problems bloom and sky have, they always have problems! Every relationship does, yet they pay no attention to the other couples, its always about bloom and sky.

I agree. I liked how Layla was independent and was proud of it. That's honestly the only thing that was interesting about her really, for me. But then Nabu (and I don't like him anyways...) I think it's sad that they had to put her with a guy. So now every winx has a boyfriend... it's not like you need a guy to make everything right in your life anyways. They should have left her independent.

Yeah, Bloom and Sky do get a lot of attention (the whole Diaspro thing for all 3 seasons...erg.)

Knowing bloom, she wouldn't care she would just want a bf for social status and stay with him (I don't like bloom much if you can't tell) yeah boo, I didn't see much in layla or nabu (i think his character is very weak) and now shes all love struck, it just frustrates me about them. And the whole bloom and sky have problems with cheating over and over again. It was ok the first time, but just drop it!

I know. Bloom is always suspecting him, in real life, that wouldn't help to build a 'healthy relationship'. If I were them, I'd just break up, and even though Sky isn't too bright, wouldn't he have enough common sense to dump Bloom along with all her suspicions? I wish.

I like that about Riven as well. He is a believable character. A tough life, a mean attitude because of his tough life, but someone comes along and helps him out (Musa). I find that believable. I think out of all the characters, his background is most realistic (even though not much is known about some of the other characters' backgrounds).

I wish we knew more about his backaround, I wrote a fanfic about what I think was his backaround, but its totally false just what I think would make a good story. I mean maybe he did have a hard family life so he was forced into service of the royal family, but we don't know that. Too bad they don't have a show just for the guys to explain all this stuff.

well in the english winx club page of brandon profile. it said that he was poor and sky family helped raised him but he had to work as a squire. but he was with sky and he had a good life. just that he was kinda poor.

I think it'd be cool if there were a few episodes based on the winx characters' backgrounds (other then Bloom's, since we already know plenty about her.) I think it'd be very interesting. They never really gave that much background info on the boys at all. We wouldn't hardly know anything if it weren't for the website (www.winxclub.com). I don't know if there was any mention of their backgrounds in the series actually... (who knows what 4kids cut out?). For example, in the 4kids version, I don't think there was any mention that Riven's mom left him and that it might have been for money (this information I found on the official site).

I know this might just be me, but after seeing a couple screenshots on another site... I feel I must bring it up.
In season 2, when Layla, Sky, Brandon, Stella, and Bloom went to Shadow Haunt, and around where Stella fell trying to "save" Brandon, remember when a slime monster slimed Layla to a wall? If I remember right, Sky came right to her rescue. If you watch the original or Rai English, you could see that Sky and Layla pretty much hugged and Bloom had a sour look on her face...
I wonder what would have happened if the writers continued on with that little relationship...I would have preferred that rather then going on with the Diaspro story line.

Okok, back to main subject. I just don't know where part that Sky is attractive. I just find him mama boy type and looks like old uncle (Please, he's older than my papa!)

I don't think because he's a prince/king or whatever, Diaspro and Bloom are princesses, they can buy guys they want but why they insisted to choose Sky? He's just a two-timer whom need to get a life, seriously. Plus, he's just a mama boy whom kept looking for his mummy for help blah blah blah, if I'm one of the characters I'll not only hate him, I will also plan to kill him! Why, because he's such a super duper annoying GAY!

The pet names are amusing to me actually; they make me laugh, some of them are so silly . Who would call somebody they care about names like 'shnookums' and such? That's not the way I'd want somebody to show affection towards me. lol When they call each other stuff like that, in my opinion, it makes their relationship seem fake in a way.

And I agree. The pet names are really fake and silly, but to convince little girls and boys that the couple is in love what better way than to make it cheesy and over the top =P. Like with Tecna, she says "logical" every other sentence. Okay, we get the message, she likes computers =P. Timmy looked very skinny and wimpy looking in the first season in my opinion... he looked more nerdy actually. He seemed to get more muscular in seasons 2 and 3. I personally thought he was cuter when he was wimpy looking.

One thing I do like about the Rai version is that Timmy's voice sounds so much better. But I think that may have been the Italian version now that I think about it. I have all of the 4kids seasons, but is there a place I can watch (or maybe, download?) the Rai english version, or maybe just the Italian version with subtitles? I've tried youtube, but I'm just not fond of that website.

I look them up on youtube. www.magicofwinx.net used to have Rai english episodes, but it's temporarily down...
I am also not aware of any full Italian episodes with subtitles... I don't think there are any, (to my knowledge).
I noticed voice differences as well. Timmy's voice in 4kids does sound a tad overly-geeky, but I've never really had a great problem with it, (unlike Tecna's cruel voice change in season 3). I personally think the voices in the Italian original are all pretty much perfectly fitting for each character: which I think, is really important to a good cartoon.

None of the Specialists really do much of anything for me. The show seems to demote all men into either the role of a villain: Darkar/Baltor... or make them canon fodder. I honestly have a strong belief "Red Fountain" refers to the fact each and every Specialist is just a fleshbag that will burst if abused enough, resulting in a Red Fountain... of blood.

And the five are just a very bland Five Man Band, as TV tropes would describe them.

Sky: The hero. And a pretty disappointing one at that. Cless Alvein should beat the crap out of his sometime just to show how you're supposed to do it.
Brandon: Lady's man, arguably meant to symbolize the "muscle" of the group, since his weapon is a broadsword, which is often portrayed to be stronger than a longsword. Should take some notes from Sain from Fire Emblem.
Timmy: Smart guy, but annoyling naive and incompetent. Should learn how to be smart and a competent fighter by taking a few lessons from Jotaro Kujo.
Riven: Generic rival/lancer guy. Portrayed to have a mean streak but capable of being a nice guy. Ought to learn how to do his role better by following in the footsteps of Raidese V. Brauntsein.
Helia: Technically would be classified as "The Chick," being the most feminine of the five. His name, love of the arts/music... it's pretty obvious. Andromeda Shun would chew him up and spit him out in about five seconds if they fought. Reason why? Five words: Nebula Stream then Nebula Storm. Instant win.

Yeah, that was my biggest problem with Timmy. They didn't loosen his character up at any point in the show and he remained a static character until the end. But there are some comic relief moments with him I appreciated =P. And I'd have to agree that all of the boys have some major realism problems...and yes they'd get beaten up by real fighters xD.

I don't know if I'd be able to have a conversation with any of the guys if they were real human beings... I don't exactly like people who are too full of themselves (*cough* Sky *cough*) but I also don't like it when I'm the one that is the only one adding to the conversation (like it might be with Helia, who seems terribly quiet)... I dislike one-sided conversations... I'd be afraid of angering Riven and also I would worry about not being able to fully understand Timmy... and Brandon... that just might bring me back to how I started with the reason for Sky.
Maybe my reasons behind not being able to make conversation with most people is the main cause of my selective antisocial behavior, (I suppose I could call it that...)

In all honesty, I like Brandon's interaction with Sky and the other specialists. He's that light-hearted joker-kinda character who always tries to make the others laugh or provides a helping hand. I think that came of really well in the movie.

I agree. I think there were several scenes in the series where he tries to console his friends.
One for example (more comical than serious):
Brandon: I hear girls like flowers
Timmy: Flowers?
Brandon: They grow in fields
Timmy: I know what they are!


Another example would be when he talked with Sky after he had a bit of a fight with Bloom (this being a more serious conversation versus the previous situation). The episode was called 'Reaching for the Sky' in the 4kids version; #10, season 2.


I always tend to look passed his good qualities though, unfortunately, because of his relationship with Stella. I just think their relationship is too perfect, thus leading me to judge Brandon solely on that (which is not a good thing to do, admittedly.) I'm sure I'm not alone in doing this, though. It puts his character at a disadvantage if you ask me.

Haha. Well prepare for my Riven explantion everyone! It's very long but an interesting story...

At first, I didn't like Riven. That's right. I DIDN'T like Riven. He was such a spaz in season 1. Plus it probably didn't help that the first episode I ever saw was 'Spelled' and Riven was already evil by the time I turned it on. So until I realized that he was a "good character" I couldn't stand the guy. Then season 1 ended and since it had only been a trial season, season 2 didn't come for a whole year and a bit. So when it did come back on, I was older and could judge character better. Plus I guess they got better at drawing Riven because he was so much more good lookinh in season 2! So it began. My liking for Riven didn't turn into an obsession quite yet but we're getting there. In season 2, I found myself thinking he was a cool character but not totally worshiping the ground he walked on. Then season 3 came around. After his first line in episode 1 (which was EPIC!) I was hooked. Riven has and always be the best character in any cartoon in the world.

I personally think Timmy is the more sensitive and kind specialist of the group. Him and Helia both...
Although, Helia could be classified as a hypocrite, as mentioned. He claimed to be a pacifist and then took part in battles. :/ Why even label him a pacifist to begin with if he was going to battle and such anyway?

My List:
1. Timmy- I have a tendency to like nervous, nerdy, kind guys. He's just too nice and caring to be anywhere other then number one of my favorites list when referring to the specialists.

2. Riven - He is a very believable character; thus why I like him.

3. Helia - The quiet artist, he reminds me of one of my closest guy friends.... that is, if he had stuck with the pacifist thing. :/

4. Brandon - I think I would like Brandon more if he wasn't going out with Stella... I don't know, something about how they refer to each other bugs me lol.

5. Sky - I do not like Sky, to say the least... he is a kind character, but too kind. Too perfect, too fake, and too "dreamy" Prince Charming. Of course, the perfect fit for the main character.

My Fave list list goes like so:

Riven: In a weird sort of way he's totally like me. And not like me at the same time. He has the best lines and is the funniest. Plus he's so freaking sexy! And I love very complicated, troubled, moody teen guy characters. For example, in Total Drama Island., Duncan's my fave.

Sky: After quite a bit of debating, Sky replaced Brandon as my second favourite specialist. Pretty recently acually. He's pretty funny as well and his character is really cute. I think he sort of won me over in season 3 when he was evil. Hence Riven being evil at some point as well. I like my evil guys.

Brandon: A very very close 3rd. So close him and Sky are pretty much tied. But Bradnon does have the 2nd best lines and he's pretty funny. I don't like how he's so self-centered. Him and Stella don't even fight or anything (Knock on Wood Season 4...)

Timmy: He's totally the coolest nerd ever! (Sorry Tecna) The wipe out he had in the movie was epic! I've been waiting for that one forever and ever. He's not a believeable character though. Too one sided for my liking.

Nabu? Ehh... I'm personally not fond of him (maybe it was how he came into the series... like a stalker...). o_O I do like that he has powers though; that was a neat little trait they threw in there. It definitely helped him stand out compared to the other guys. ^_^

Although, I also don't like how Layla fell in love with him even after she was so against an arranged marriage in the first place. It was much too perfect and unrealistic. Not to mention that he liked her back... What are the odds?

And wouldn't it be cool to let them have a male friend who isn't romantically involved with one of the girls? I always picture him like that in my 'perfect' fanon, where he and Layla broke up on good terms, and decided to be friends anyway.

Okay, I think I ranked everyone a while ago and I'd say Sky's at the bottom of the barrel for me. Everyone else is good in my book. Yep, even Helia. Yes, he's corny. Yes, he's sensitive. Yes, he's feminine (or maybe metrosexual?). But I kind of like all of those qualities. He's not tough and manly. He's kind, considerate, and soft spoken. I guess I find it endearing *sniffles*. Or maybe everyone will label me as pathetic xD. I find that he changed from being a pacifist to a slightly more courageous hero for Flora's sake extremely sweet, if maybe a little hasty. I don't think he likes to hurt things, but if he has to do it to protect people he will.

So who's with me on liking Helia now?

I mean, he has a bit of a lack of personality, but that's also a bit because they tried to incorporate a different way of thinking (Pacifism), while still keeping him a Specialist, and not delving deeper.

I would like him more if he had been a pacifist throughout the entire series... I think they needed an artistic male character to balance out the Prince Charming and jock characters they had (excluding Timmy; who falls under the 'geek' category), thus why I do not think Helia was that bad. Like I said earlier, I personally know someone like Helia (had he been a pacifist), whom of which loves art, is quiet, but is extremely kind and caring... That fact probably contributes to why I think he's an alright character in the show.

I do dislike that he automatically fell in love with Flora (how convenient) and that his character is hypocritical, but I definitely think the good outweighs the bad.

Ha ha, if it's any consolation, I'm guilty in that department as well. Is it just me, or do the artsy guys also tend to me more intellectual than most?

I also tend to like adorable, sweet nerdy guys for some reason though (maybe someone to share my high GPA with? Just kidding, just kidding... Or maybe it's my fondness of "Chuck" on NBC... Yup, that's probably it. ) Tee hee.

Is quiet and peaceful Helia the same as loud and outgoing Brandon? Is Nerdy Timmy the same as cool guy Nabu? While Sky is painfully bland in my opinion, the others do have their differences.

Okay, I kind of can't make a definite choice but here is my list:




1. Helia: I just love him. Flora is such a lucky girl. He's nice, knows poetry(which I find romantic), a great artist, and is really hot.
2. Timmy's a close second for me really. He is a good guy, I just wish he knew how to please Tecna more, but all around nice and smart too, and is really cute.
3. Sky. I know this seems impossible, but I actually really like Sky. He's nice, cute, and can be really romantic.
4. Brandon is nice, and he's so cute. And I love his cheesy lines in 4kids, they so make him seem so cute to me.
5. Riven. I'm not the biggest, fan of Riven. I dislike his looks, he's completely arrogant at times, and this whole badboy thing totally turns me off.

01.)Helia - A sensitive soul, who'll only fight for his love. *dreamy eyes* XD
02.)Brandon - He's hot and hilarious. XD
03.)Sky- Who doesn't want a king?
04.)Nabu - His powers are awesome and he's an interesting character.
05.)Timmy - Timmy's cute and I liked him in the rescue episode from season 3, where he knew Tecna was alive. T_T So cute. "I can feel her presence. I know she's out there."
06.)Riven - I'm mad at him for how he's treated Musa, but I normally like him.

Yup! I remember Nabu getting some flak at the beginning, mostly because of him giving the last single girl in the mix a boyfriend (Understandable, but not really justified) and a good healthy dose of what I like to call 'New-character anxiety' (See also: Roxy)

I think it's supposed to because he is like a pacifist so it isn't as much of an offensive weapon as like a sword. I do think it would be slightly more necessary to have a better weapon for some of the combat things they get into.
