Really? When you paid and downloaded your comic(s), it says error? It happened once to me and I emailed the support team about it.
They told me to delete the App and reinstall it again. (Don't worry, you won't lose all of your purchased Comics because they are saved under your iTunes account) Once you you reinstall the App again, go to Settings (I notice the update for iPod Touch/iPhone iOS 5 Version is affecting the bars underneath, but click at the end). After that, click on "Tap here to restore your previous purchases" button. It will automatically download all of your previous purchases. =D
Please let me know if it works when you download all of your previous purchases or installing the App again. I just looked at the reviews and notice everyone are having the same problem? (Did you tried emailing the support team? Send an email to them about your problem, its email is [email protected]
Email helps because they can help solve problems right away to fix the bug.
